Interesting break down for Rodgers this season with Montgomery in the line-up

115 of 163 (71%) for 1312 yards, 14 TDs, 2 INTs   (this is from just over 5 games)

Since Monty got hurt (2nd qtr vs SDG)

232 of 409 (57%) for 2509 yards, 17 TDs, 6 INTs  (over more than 11 games)

His yards per game go from 240 (w/Ty) to 220 (wo/Ty)

Limited options. Running game looked better in weeks 1-5.

Pretty sure I know exactly what is going through Mclazystupidface's mind by the stupid face he is making, Rodgers is no different.

It's not rocket surgery

I'll just say...Adams wasn't any more open or covered in that playoff game vs. Dallas than he is this year.

The difference is our QB.

Very Orwellian, I guess the drops are just my imagination, and that blazing speed

Must be tough since they're at each other's throats.

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Aaron Rodgers has more free time on Tuesdays this season now that he is not doing his weekly ESPN Milwaukee radio show.

Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy found a way to make use of his quarterback's so-called day off. Rodgers has been spending more time with the offensive coaches in the game-planning meetings, McCarthy said Monday

It was another change McCarthy implemented after he took back play-calling duties from Tom Clements last month.

“It's definitely helpful,” McCarthy said. “But it's good. He's played a lot of football. He's got a great football mind and he asks good questions, and questions are important in those meetings because it can be dry. I mean he can dust off this and that, throw it in [and say] we've done this, we've done that.

“To me, that's the worst mistake coaches can make, when you just don't go through the process. Now you don't have to go through all the way to the other side of the spectrum and recreate the wheel every week. I mean that's not what we do. But it's good to go in there and make sure you hash it out.” ...

Dom called a play that had Peppers drop into coverage - of course Dom is going to blame someone else. Play call appears to be bad and then got worse with poor execution by several on D - especially after play breaks down and its every man for himself.

Peppers zone drop was to take away the hot read if Palmer took it (to Fitz).  Palmer extended the play and made a great play.  Something Rodgers does time and time again.  Pack was just on the other end of it for once.  The problem were the terrible angles and missed tackles after the catch.

Nothing wrong with the play call.  Neal was in great position to make a sack and whiffed.  Randall was supposed to trail Fitzgerald across the field, and didn't.

Dom said Hayward blew the coverage, not Peppers.

"Capers said rookie corner back Damarious Randall – who lined up across Fitzgerald – errored in not recognizing the depth of Fitzgerald’s crossing route. Randall stayed on the left side of the field when Fitzgerald continued his route to the right sideline, near Peppers’ vicinity.

There was no miscommunication on the play call, Capers said. On the sideline before overtime started, he said, Capers decided to blitz up the middle on the first play. It was an adjustment to the Cardinals’ previous drive when the Packers struggled defending their play-action passes on first down.

“I think (Randall) knew the call,” Capers said. “But you have to evaluate how shallow the crossing route goes on that. If it goes under your underneath defenders than you have the ability to come off of that. If it goes over the top of him then you have to carry it.

“He just needed to carry (the coverage) further across the field.”

Lots to talk about at the Pro Bowl Churchill Downs later this year

@andrewperloff: .@TroyAikman says Tom Brady did remarkable job considering what he had to work with. Says he didn't get protection, couldn't trust receivers.

Here's the original story, from Wilde and Demovsky:

QB Rodgers on mend after minor knee surgery

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers had a legitimate reason for pulling out of the Pro Bowl.

Rodgers underwent knee surgery within days of the team's Jan. 17 playoff loss to the Arizona Cardinals, he confirmed to ESPN on Friday night.

One source described the surgery as a minor scope and a "cleanup of an old injury."

Rodgers told ESPN that he is "doing well" and "recovering on schedule."

It's unclear when Rodgers' knee became an issue this past season, but he was hit on his left knee by Detroit Lions defensive end Ezekiel Ansah on Nov. 15. After the game, Rodgers described the hit as "a little low" and said he was sore. The following week, the Packers listed Rodgers on the injury report, but for his shoulder, not the knee.

It was the only week that Rodgers was listed with an injury. He played in all but 10 of the Packers' offensive snaps this past season and did not miss any practice time because of the knee.

The injury could help explain, at least in part, why Rodgers' production dropped in 2015. He set career lows for completion percentage (60.7), passing yards per game (238.8) and yards per attempt (6.7).

Rodgers had reconstructive surgery on his left knee in January 2004, after his first season at the University of California. Doctors repaired a torn ACL that Rodgers said he suffered years earlier while playing basketball in high school. He returned for the start of his second and final season at Cal.

Barring a setback in his recovery, Rodgers is likely to be ready to participate when the Packers begin their offseason program in April.

Released late on a Friday evening.  Rodgers doing all he can to downplay this.

Straight out of the Clinton playbook.

The whole sordid affair would just sound better... if YOKO needed knee surgery.

I'm REALLY starting to wonder about this Rodgers guy.
