Aaron Rodgers said Wednesday that he would support the Packers making a trade to acquire Marshawn Lynch.

Rodgers played with Lynch at Cal. "Bring him on," said the quarterback. "He's a great player." "Any deal appears to be a long shot," writes Greg Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, noting that Buffalo wanted at least a third-round pick for Lynch on draft weekend. That's too much for GM Ted Thompson.

No matter what you think of BJack and his ability to handle the load as a starter, a RB trio of BJack/Lynch/Kuhn and much more appealing than BJack/Kuhn/practice squad guy.

Make the deal TT!

If such a trade happens I think it would happen after this weekend game.
At least this weekend will give both sides a good chance to talk a trade over face to face.

Since this romour seems to come from a Bufflo fan site and is not from Joe, I say it is nothing but BS.

forgot sarcasm
I look at the similarities of the '96 Rison acquisition...a player that played a significant role in winning the Super Bowl. I don't think RB is as important as it once was in the NFL. But getting a guy of this talent would be a nice upgrade. Meanwhile, there is plenty of vet leadership, starting with his Cal teamate in Rodgers. Guys like Woodson, Tauscher, Driver....these guys can keep this guy in line. And he's playing for a payday in 2012.

Hawk and a pick!

When your first two backs are CJ Spiller and Fred Jackson.. and our #1 back is Brandon Jackson.. your logic doesn't really follow in this case.

Lynch is a capable player and has been much more successful in the NFL than BJax. Im not saying the guy is a world beater, but he is very likely a clear upgrade over Nance/Kuhn at TB. When you are a superbowl team and you lose a guy like Ryan Grant and you have no capable backup that can carry a fulltime load at TB... you need to make a move to fix the issue.

What happens if Jackson gets hurt? This needs to be addressed.
My logic is this:
1. The Packers are a pass-first team.
2. At the RB position, we need someone solid who can pick up the blitz, get whatever yards are there and not turn the ball over.
3. Due to item #2, we don't need to create another hole in the starting line-up to fill a position with someone who is unproven in our system.
4. Especially if that player has a LONG history of off the field issues and injuries.
5. I'm on record as being in favor of trading for Lynch, even though he's a card-carrying douchebag, potentially causing locker room issues, for the right price. I said yesterday for a 4th or lower, but I'd consider it for a 3rd if we got a later pick back like the Pats did.

Lynch has had a more successful career up to this point.

Their YPC averages are nearly identical, however.

We do have a capable backup who is now a starter. His name is Brandon Jackson.

If Jackson also gets hurt, you go get another back.

The issue has been addressed for the time being with the signing of Nance (potential impact unk at this time). We have Starks potentially returning after week 6, and at least a month to evaluate how comfortable we are with Jackson as the starter.

I find it comical that you're calling us a Super Bowl team when you still have that stupid avatar calling for Thompson to get fired.

Your clear bias against him and the job he does severely undercuts your credibility.

You and the other nervous nellies in Packer Nation will just have to keep pissing down your legs at least a little bit longer. Too bad for you.

This really is the crux of the issue. TT and MM clearly have a vastly different view of the abilities of BJack than you do. I don't anticipate a move until either he demonstrates he can't get it done or there's another injury.

There's no need to push the panic button and people need to take a deep breath and just relax.
