MVS dropped some balls last year. I would say he is either looking for a job or the Chiefs are waiting for him to take their rock bottom offer of $1.98 per game. For the Chiefs they also have the issue of WR Rashee Rice driving problems. They need only Kelce anyway, But for appearances only, they could be in the market for a few WRs in the draft.

I, for one, don't feel scorned at all. I'm very happy with the direction of the current Packers.
However, since we're waiting for the draft, I felt it would be fun to check in on our former QB
The only problem that I have with Rodgers is that I don't think he was fully committed to the Packers over his last year or two in Green Bay.

Regardless of rehab from injury, he's giving the Jets a better chance of succeeding than he did for the Packers. Or at least that's the way it appears. And that's wrong on many levels.

I always got the disgust for favre the way he manipulated his way out of green bay and ultimately to the vikings. But rodgers never acted like favre. His praise for all thing green bay is still evident. Crazy how fans hope he fails. He is the best player in green bay history. As long as he isn't playing the packers I hope he has all the success he can get. It isn't like management helped his legacy here with the crappy defenses they gave him year after year.

the greatest praise would have been being fully committed while playing for the GBP, which he obviously wasn't anymore and half-assed his way out. being an incredible talent that half-assedness was still better than 80% of the QBs in the league but it was still obvious he wasn't all in.

And this was proven when they drafted Love. Miraculously, Rodgers goes all-in and plays some of his best ball until he checked out again.

Just think if he would have ran that shorty in…I know, not a given by any means and still plenty of time on the clock but the intensity and leadership value would have been off the charts. He ran that in numerous times in his career.

I recall a game against the Steelers that he played pretty well. That pass over the middle onto the finger tips of Greg Jennings in the 4th quarter. Best pass in a pressure moment that I have ever witnessed. Absolute laser in the 4th quarter on the biggest stage in the world.
After 2011....He got bored completing the easy pass.....just like Favre.
Last year...2023....Jordan Love was not bored using the offense as designed and completing the easy pass. Let's hope he keeps doing that until he wins MULTIPLE Super Bowl Championships.

Favre shit the bed constantly. Rodgers was never the main reason they lost a playoff game. He could have done more in some cases, but his playoff career shows 45 TDs against 13 interceptions. 10 of 22 games with a QB rating of greater than 100.

I agree his last 2 playoff losses left a lot to be desired. By that time I felt he was done while hoping he wasn't. I was hoping to see him rejuvenated with the jets and show what he could have been with a great defense. Now he has to deal with a huge injury and another year older. This may be his last hurrah. Unless he goes to the vikings next year. Then he is in the toilet with brett.

100%. His time with the Jets didn't mean anything to me because even if he was MVP in 2023 and won the Super Bowl, I knew it wouldn't have been the same in Green Bay. He looked disinterested in 2022 and I wasn't fully convinced he wanted to play in the 2020 and 2021 playoffs. It was Favre against the Giants in 2007 all over again.

Wilson was over drafted after a covid season where BYU played a really easy schedule. He was a 3rd round QB, at best. He also ended up on the worst possible team.
Denver is selling it as QB rehab a la Geno Smith. I don't see it. Wilson hasn't even flashed that he's a competent NFL QB. He's been the worst QB in the league the last 2 years. Sean Payton is going to break him. No idea what Denver is planning with this. I think Stidham is a better QB which is not saying much.

Agree it’s good value for Denver but IMO Payton is totally overrated as a QB developer. Brees was a savant already and Payton showed nothing with Russell Wilson. He basically pissed away a massive investment there by the franchise with his my way or the highway BS. Chances are he will break this Wilson even more.

Jets owed Wilson a fully guaranteed $5.5 mil for 2024, regardless if they kept or cut him. As part of the trade to Denver they each will pay half of the $5.5 mil. Denver likely does not make that trade and agree to pay Wilson the $5.5 mil unless the Jets ponied up to pay half of it.

Bd: I could not agree more! About 30 minutes after that SB was over I rewatched that pass about 50 times. That still is the most accurate pass I have ever seen. Truthfully speaking most Packer fans could say w/o stretching the truth that 12 threw so many passes that almost no other QB would ever attempt.

I believe Zach could at least be Kirk Cousins in the right situation. I've seen him make all the throws. He isn't Justin Fields. Living behind that awful offensive line is no place for any young QB. Rodgers better be ready to get rid of the ball this year to help out that O-Line or that old man will get killed again.
I saw something the other day about one team acquiring a player from another team because they owned that team a favor. In return, the team trading the player away got an unconditional draft pick that never materialized.

When these GM's make a deal with each other...it's about more than just that current deal. They develop relationships with each other because they both know future deals will be important.
Just like when TT fleeced Belichick (BB drafted that Florida WR, who was garbage) and TT drafted Greg Jennings after the trade down.
When the 2009 draft hit & NE was on the clock, TT traded up and gave BB an EXTRA 3rd rounder and told BB, "I'm going to give you the extra 3, Bill. I know we kind of got you on the 2006 draft."
That extra 3rd was the pick the Pack got for Favre to the Jets

Gotta think they are drafting a QB this year. And with what they have on the roster today that QB will be expected to play early if he's ready or not.
Peyton was essentially correct in his opinion of Nate Hackett but the pile of shit that was dumped on him after voicing that opinion to the world was well deserved. I hope whoever they pick is a colossal flop.

I hope they give Wilson two years to get straightened out. He'll never be great, but he could be a whole lot better and end up a serviceable starter -- provided he can forget NY. In NY he'd make a great throw, and then on the next three dropbacks he'd be crushed by the D with barely time to blink. After a bit, he had to be hearing a stampeding herd of ghosts on every dropback. Give him better coaching and a better line so he has time to learn to read a defense like he's reading a book rather than a billboard, and Denver will have gotten the better of the Jets.
I thought the Jets did really well on Day 1.
Completely fleeced the Vikings out of 4th & 5th rounder, which they can use to get back into round 2 or round 3 if they like. Plus got an excellent LT and we all know how much O-Line help they need.
Also the Raiders got really lucky having Brock Bowers fall right into their lap.

They missed the Jets getting Jordan Travis out of this trade. Every media report I've seen on this missed that one. Which I kinda get cuz it was a little hard to follow but went as such:
Rodgers -> pick 41 (we trade it to NO) -> pick 190 (we trade it to Jets) -> Jets package pick 190 to trade up to 171 and pick Travis.
Nobody really followed that we traded part of the picks we got as part of the Rodgers trade back to the Jets and they used that pick to move up and draft a QB.
But if the Packers or the Jets trade anyone on those lists, will that count as part of the trade too?

After AR finds his way into a full body cast, in the process cutting short his season - again, I am torn between what I would like to see happen next:
1) Packers fleece them one more time for one of the backup QBs.
2) Or, watch the Jets do it right, draft a guy to develop, and get a guy to hold the fort down for a couple of years - all the while reading about how they think there must be a better way. And if they manage to see the process thru and end up with a good QB, then listening to them claim to have invented a QB development process that works. Next thing you know they will be holding clinics for the rest of the NFL at a huge cost. I think GB should patent their process and sue them if they are dum ...... I mean smart enough to do that ..... so we can fleece them again.
