I applaud him for taking on the lamestream media like that.

Ask Thomas Jefferson about that.
Because TJ & DR are equivalent.
Stated another way - sports interviews are dumb.
Except when it's sports bloopers so you shut your face. TJ loved him some sports bloopers.

Apparently, so is learning.
I don't know what these guys do for the 14-15-16 years they go to school, but it surely isn't learning English.

Except when he's IN the blooper...
Maybe not press coverage. But TJ could be dynamite in boundary zone.
Ryan Wood@byryanwood: #Packers CB coach Joe Whitt Jr says Damarious Randall did not blow coverage on TD, but that getting beat is different than blowing coverage.
Sure looked like he blew coverage to me...
Whitt is protecting Randall.
What's worse? Blowing the coverage or playing the right coverage and still getting beat like 15 drums?
Me thinks Whitt may have been pissed off about losing Gunter because even though Gunter is likely maxed out his physical abilities he's committed and a pretty solid player. On the flip side, Whitt may be convinced he's seen enough of Randall and Rollins as they continue on the Flameout Express.
Randall has the talent, maybe there's more to him growing up than just one incident.
Blowing is always worst.
Seriously, missing the coverage call generally means his head is up his ass, and that takes longer to cure than getting beat.
That being said, there remains a difference in getting beat by a Julio or Dez and getting beat by a Kendall Wright.
If he did not miss his assignment but still angered the coaches it's probably because he cramped on his technique. My guess is some key they had emphasized during the week.
I think Randall is a safety whoβs pissed heβs being asked to cover when he canβt only he doesnβt want to let anyone know he canβt do what he canβt do.
I don't get this kid. He's not as ignorant as his twitter posts & interviews would suggest (wonderlic score is about average for NFL players with an 18). He was described as "tough" coming out of college. The only "non typical" thing in his background is the fact that he initially tried to play baseball coming out of college. Went to a JUCO, played baseball for a year, then transferred to another JUCO to play football before finishing his last 2 years at ASU.
My amateur observance of Randall is that he is physically gifted but lacks instincts to play corner. He usually fails to look for the ball in man coverage and is slow to react/anticipate in zone. (OTOH, Rollens is the opposite. he seems to be more limited physically, but better instincts.)
Here's the thing about Rollins, he was supposed to be anything but "physically limited". I thought they drafted him because of his excellent physical attributes despite his lack of experience? If we're having the discussion about Rollins physical limitations then he's already done.
By physically limited, I am referring to his speed. His 40 and 3 cone are significantly slower than Randall's, but not quite in Gunter's level. That is the frustrating thing from my perspective, none of those three had the complete package needed. I am willing to throw out last year's performance as both R&R were hurt with groin injuries and anyone who has tried to play any sport with even a minor groin injury knows it is very challenging, especially at CB. But this year I have seen nothing that gives me confidence that either of them can take care of their duties. I think the Packers feel the same way which is why you see more 3 and ever 4 safety formations.
Right, he's done.
BUMP!! Today he got it right and then a few seconds later got it rong.
At least he stayed in the stadium the whole game this time. Baby steps.
He has the skills, seems like heβs a guy who lets his emotions get the best of him. He gave up a TD early and it seems like the TD gave him some confidence. He had a nice deflection and tight coverage after the TD. He has to get his head right because he could be a really good CB. I imagine heβs like a lot of NFL players, ALWAYS been the star on every team heβs played on and was always told how amazing he was...now heβs not the best and he has to deal with being told he sucked.
At this point I think GB needs to look for a starting CB in trade. Someone will be having a fire sale in the next couple weeks Iβm sure.

And then got it even more wrong in his post game interview. Heard on post game shows (hasn't been posted anywhere yet.) When posted, take a listen---guy is incredibly immature, at best
#Packers S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix said Damarious Randall has "the most talent on the team on the back end. ... Most talented DB we've got."
β Michael Cohen (@Michael_Cohen13) October 9, 2017
Does not mean it's true.
It could absolutely be true. Even more frustrating that he can't put it to use properly.
Media interview after the game from Randall indicates that he's his own worst enemy and he still just doesn't get it.
Dix trying to get the kid to live up to expectations?
Yeah I think it's 100% true, maybe a tie with King. Randall has all the tools to be a good starting CB in the NFL, he just has to get his schit together. He needs a mentor he will listen to, that's a big reason why our young DBs like Shields developed so quickly...he had Charles Woodson breathing down his neck, making him better. House is kind of a veteran leader, but our guys need someone to emulate, not just preach at them.
How well did #Packers CB Damarious Randall cover #Browns WR Josh Gordon?

Raise your hand if you thought not long ago Randall should have been booted and/or benched.

I did. It's not often a guy quits on his team to the point where he leaves the stadium during a game. He's turned it around. It will be interesting to hear down the road in someone's memoir what the internal discipline was.
Great Win for them but letβs be serious.. Considering several of our disadvantages as a team, this kid couldnβt hold my jock strap on my worst day lol..@RandallTime https://t.co/ennvwjTMUH

Kids improved and hopefully starting to grow up.
Wasn't ready to dump him like some were but was definitely wondering if he was another Thompson 1st round bust.
That Gordon / Randall exchange is great.

That's really the message a guy coming back from years of self-induced damage should send. Hey, my team sucks so much that how well he played against me really didn't matter. If I'm John Dorsey, I seriously consider cutting him after that. Actually, sit him down the rest of the season and trade him for anything you can get in the offseason.
Actually, it appeared several times that Josh Gordon dogged it. If he's 5 inches taller than Randall, why did he basically stop running on their last offensive play.
Mental stamina can be a problem for a guy who hasn't played in 3 years.

FTFY.
The feud w/ Josh Gordon grabbed the headlines, but Damarious Randall has only given up 82 yards in the last four games. Big turn around this season
