As bad as Spriggs looks, the fact that Allen Barbre, Marshall Newhouse, and Breno Giacomini still are playing in the NFL after looking awful with the Pack means that maybe Spriggs isn't hopeless even though he looks like it now.

Those other guys were 4th and 5th round picks. Spriggs was a second round pick that they gave up their 2nd, a 4th, and a 7th to get.

I can't blame MM for trying to see what Spriggs can do at T now. They have to figure it out now before the draft/FA. Because if he can't cut it, then the Packers have to make a decision to go elsewhere in 2018 at RT.

Bulaga is certainly a PUP player in 2018, even with a full recovery they don't believe he could play until November. He also has a large cap number in 2018. So yes, I could very well see him cut.

Watched the All-22/offense in the PIT game. Spriggs played well in the run game. Still needs work in pass protection, though he did have a few plays where he looked like he knew what he was doing - very active hands on the good plays, just not consistent. Also, there were plays where it looked like he did not know the blocking call as he was looking for someone to match up with - it was odd.

Cogbot was the best coach on the offensive side of the ball last year.

Belichek like organization.

Very discouraging. Gotta wonder what's going through that guy's head...does he care to improve or is he content just being on the roster? LT is the 3rd highest paid position on a team generally (after QB and pass rusher), the top LTs are averaging over $15K per year. Spriggs has the physical ability to be among that group, but for some reason even that kind of money is not a motivator to improve. Guy must just be Homer Simpson in Hercules's body.

I'll go one step further. I wonder whether he's "playing" himself off the team. Purposefully tanking so he'll get cut and get a start somewhere else. He was "at a loss" as to why Bell got the start ahead of him in week 1 of the preseason as well.

MM had a very vague/odd explanation and Spriggs seemed dumbfounded as to why he was sinking further down the depth chart.

At this point, I'd keep him only because they have such little depth. But I would bury him even behind Pankey now.

Fu**

OL depth is a potential disaster. Stuffed Jebediah absence hurts. Spriggs lack of any measurable development is simply crushing.

Id put OL depth well ahead of OLB depth as far as concern goes. You can’t potentially lose Rodgers again If Fackrell or Biegel are forced to play meaningful snaps because Perry or Clay goes down. You cartainly can if Bak or Bulaga are lost.

Really hoping some team jettisons a marginal T over the next two weeks after cuts are made.

I can't imagine Spriggs would tank on purpose, especially since he sucked last year and there were several opportunities to grab a starting job with Bulaga and Bakh hurt at various points. Honestly I think the Packers were hoping Spriggs would step up and Bulaga would get Wally Pipped so they could dump his salary...or he could have started in the interior. I think he's just another Eddie Lacy, doesn't love football enough to get better and live up to his potential.

You are undefeated, but it daunts me not..

half of this board did not even know daunt was an actual word until just now.

Yeah, wow.  Not a way to endear yourself to half the board.  If that's what you think wit is.

True, and I apologize for this.

Sometimes I forget myself when dealing with certain types of people.

again , sorry!
