Really nice guy too.  Hell, John Randle was kind of "poor man's John Randle".  Wasn't drafted, considered too small.

I think the comparison is great actually.

Randle was a character, sometimes too over the top.

I hated when the NFLFU "outlawed" excessive eye black, but loved his commercial of tailoring a #4 jersey for a chicken to chase around!

Which is totally ironical given that when he was drafted, many panned the pick saying he was "too small to play in a 3-4".

IC is a scouting genius. You should see him at the local gay bars.

Mike Daniels @ Mike_Daniels76
#TheSuperBowl was a beatdown, The #StanleyCup #NBAFinals were 4-1 series #PackNation how about we stop playing n go TAKE a ring, not win one

Love this guy.

Daniels is one hell of a player, but if he were 3-4 inches taller, I have no doubt that with his strength, speed and dedication, he'd be one of the best 4-5 defensive linemen in the league.

Note that he doesn't give a crap about the World Series.

And that's the attitude I wish Capers would take instead of his "let's out-think and out-scheme the other guy" approach. Football is still a beat-down game and Daniels gets that. I hope the physicalness is what MM wants this year and why he wants to get more involved in the defensive side of things. Just line up, beat your man, and take his meal money! We need more coaches/plaers who think like Daniels does!

Here's Mike Daniels talkin about being a mean mutha this season:

"Every game one of our offensive guys gets knocked out, maybe two, so it's about time we returned the favor to other teams instead of just getting pushed around all the time," Daniels said after Tuesday's minicamp practice. "It's just a little bit of a different attitude. A little meaner. A lot meaner.

Actually, being mean for once because, quite frankly, we haven't been.

I think that's been our biggest problem on defense. So I'm personally going to make that my job to really get the best out of everybody. I don't care if I've got to hit somebody before we get on the field.

If that's going to [piss] them off and they take it out on somebody on the other team, then so be it."

Hell stinkin' yes. It's about time we had some pipe hitters back out there. Just don't hurt yourselves!

It's all fine and good to have this kind of leadership...but I am more interested in results. If this yields more positive results, awesome. But my concern is more on injuries and lack of tallant than with swagger.

At this point, unless Perry, Datone and Raji step up, you're going to just have 3 mean guys who don't make plays.

To me, that is the biggest absence from this team with the loss of Collins, C-Wood and a healthy CM3 are play makers. Guys need to make plays for this defense to be good...they can be existing players or rookies...but somebody needs to step up, not just get mean.

Good call on the playmakers

Turnovers are the plays that are missing from this defense, as noted by Goalline

And who were the biggest turnover guys ?

Casey Hayward and Clay Matthews, both of whom got injured early and often....

I think we have the guys, just gotta keep em on the field

On the Raji side, he'll at least be in a much better spot to succeed- his low center of gravity and short arms were a liability on the outside at DE, but lined up over center/guards his quickness and penetration are back in play and so is his leverage advantage.

Shorter guys like him need to be in the middle; pretty tough battling long- armed OTs at 5-tech with such a leverage disadvantage.

Pickett is gone, NT is Raji's and I hope to see him make a difference in base

Daniels has voiced the opinion a couple times he's got no issue throwing down with a teammate to get them motivated.

I dig Daniels. Love his intensity. Love the production.

But stating you're fully prepared to kick a teammates ass if you don't feel they aren't working hard enough doesn't make you a leader. It kind of makes you look like a dumbass.

Scale back on the chatter a bit. Lead by example. Say what needs to be said when and if it needs to be said.

It's a direct response to the claims that the Packers aren't a physical team. The Ravens, Seahawks, and Giants won the last 3 SBs with that "physically dominant" mantra. Packers must be they as well.

I never played football professionally. But I did play enough football to know I never had a teammate who's performance would have dramatically improved with a nice ass whipping. I'm pretty sure that applies to grown men playing the sport professionally. Maybe there's documentation of Lombardi beating the ever living crap out of Hornung and a few others that we don't know about?

In regards to this being a direct response to claims the Packers aren't physical. I'm not so sure threatening to beat the **** out of your own team is the strongest counter-argument.

I get Daniel's message. But less talking. More doing.

How about sitting them down and giving them a good talking to?
