I think that's often overlooked. Dorsey has a year under his belt and is actually contributing vs. last year, presumably because of experience. He is more polished than Janis right now IMO, but Janis has the greater upside, but needs to develop consistency. I like Dorsey over the other WR after JN, RC, JB, TA, and JJ. He's going to need to do more to make the roster.

Janis made good decisions and caught the ball cleanly. I thought he did very well fielding punts. He'd never make it through to the practice squad and he's got a roster spot pretty well locked up.
And the Packers didn't "pick" anyone on that play.

Two guys thought they had the angle and Janis Joplin outran it. That kid is on the 53. No way he gets through to the PS, and he's probably the best player after DuhVante (Love that name) anyway. He's better than White, Dorsey or Gillett.
Just put the kid in there for 10 snaps a game and send him deep every time. Been a while since GB has had a guy who could take the top off a defense. The fact that he's big and physical is just gravy.
That kid has some serious wheels.

With Boykin and Janis and Davante they have some big targets to get after it in the red zone. That's been an area they have struggled a little bit in the passing game

Had to look up the Ram S (#26 Christian Bryant) that Janis beat to the corner to see how bad his 40 time was before I got too excited about Janis blowing past him.
Bryant runs a 4.46 40... So yeah, that was effing impressive. Janis has another gear.

He did that on a drag route that is designed to get about 7 yards, depending on if the mlb reads it or not.

Play reminded me of a young Jurevicious.
I just realized that play was 3rd and 1. Not a 25 yard fade rout at least. Good to see MM is in regular season form though.
I like his speed but need to temper my response to that play. The player who should have covered that space was on his way outside to double another receiver. Janis looked like he tried a little block before releasing but the defender actually fought through that on his way to what he clearly thought was his assignment. I expect the opposite scenario in the future against starters and it's Janis' ability to get off a jam that will determine if he can produce.
A lot of players can make a play when there's no one defending. One of the knocks on Janis coming out is his catching in a crowd.
I just rewatched the replay a couple of panels up and though my details are wrong, the take away remains. The LB 53 was diving for the TE release even though the CB had coverage. Maybe that was his run read. A LB would normally lock up with the slot since he'd know there's no way to run with him.
One of the early plays Janis made in camp that caught MMs attention was a one hander with Shields all over him.
Its early. GB doesn't need him to produce in 2014. Just continue to develop. Make a few plays when the opportunity presents itself.
But if that's option number 5 then I've seen just enough to know the depth at WR on this team is filthy.

Janis makes way more sense as a PR/KR than Adams...if nothing else, he's a 4.3 kid and Adams is a 4.55 kid. Janis makes more sense than Hyde as well...again, see his speed.
As long as he doesn't turn the ball over while performing those duties, I have no issue with it. 5th WR (or especially 6th) needs to contribute on ST
