Winker HBP.
Why.
Trade Williams for some used jock straps after the year. He canβt come back next year.
Take Williamβs out so they can boo him.
Marte up. 2 down. Winker steals 2nd. Marte hits it to RF. Winker scores. 4-2 Mets. Williams done. Murphy to the mound.
What a way to end it - Williams with a melt down.
Joe Ross in to face Taylor. Taylor flies out to LF.

Williams should never pitch in a Brewer uniform again. Walking the lead off man in that situation is a cardinal sin.
TV networks and ESPN are popping champagne
What a gut punch. Just needed 2 outs
I hope the Phillies destroy these fools
Tough week of sports
Thanks a lot Williams, way to rip brewer fans heart out, stomp on it and spit on it. Ugh.
Atanasio, in the stands, watching this meltdown.
Frelick singles. Tying run at the plate.
Why the fuck was Williams still pitching to give up a 4th run? What the hell was Murphy doing?
Need two, three would be better.
They are going to do just enough to get my hopes up in the bottom of the ninth to make this hurt even more.

Hey. We got another nibble.
Yeah, that was nowhere near the strike zone. 0-11 in the series.
Ortiz strikes out. Turang up. Double play ball ends the Brewers season.
Fuck you, Devin Williams.
Ortiz went 0 for 12.
Why not pinch hit Mitchell for Ortiz? Mitchell has some power and showed it last night.
Save us the pain of getting curb stomped by Philly I guess.
Trade Williams for a real 1st baseman. These 2 clowns we have hitting .210 or less and strike out or home run just don't cut it.
Probably the most gutting loss in Brewers playoff history other than 1982 Game 7.

The fact that Mitchell didnβt play tonight is almost a firable offense.
Williams CANNOT be on the roster next year after that disaster.
I donβt want to hear any more about the winning culture the Brewers have created from Mark Attanasio.
Every God damn year this team finds a way to break my heart. Every God damn year.

They might not be back to the playoffs for a while.

Thereβs no accountability in Milwaukee. None. Ownership showed their hand when we won the division. That secured home field attendance for 2025, and thatβs all they care about.
Watching the Mets celebrate on our field makes me want to vomit.
I feel gut punched. Might not watch anymore baseball, now, until next Spring.

Not only does he have some pop, he gets on base. His .342 OBP would have been 15th in the National League if he had enough plate appearances. He has much better plate discipline, and good speed.
And down two going into the bottom of the ninth in a do or die situation, itβs base runners that you need.
Devin is certainly capable of a meltdown in any inning but I just think heβs maybe better in a do or die situation as a setup man and not a closer. His stats are great as a closer, but I feel like he very rarely gets through an inning completely clean. Mistakes he can get away with in a regular season game with less on the line can really come back to bite you in playoff baseball against stronger teams fighting for their lives.
I want a fireballer like McGill as a closer. And maybe McGill isnβt the guy, but someone that throws controlled gas is preferable to Williamsβ gimmicky stuff in highest leverage situations.

That, and allowing Williams to stay in after giving up the three run bomb to Alonso to surrender a 4th run completely changed the complexion of the bottom of the ninth.
Will this doom Murphy's shot at Manager Of The Year?
I just hope Devin isnβt so mad that he doesnβt do something rash like punch a wall.
Tobias Myers pitched his heart out. He deserves better. Once again, the Brewers offense gives our starter absolutely zero run support.
There are too many 85 OPS+ guys in our lineup on a nightly basis. Six of our nine starters tonight were below league average.

It sure as heck shouldnβt. He did maybe the best job a Brewers manager has ever done considering all the talent that was lost to injuries.

Williams with a 2 run lead should be a sure thing. As soon as he walked Lindor I had a bad feeling.
I read someplace that something 42% of walks leading off an inning score. But that would have made it only 2 - 1 if Williams would have been worth a shit tonight. Hader blew it for the Astros last night, only fitting that Williams blows it for the Brewers tonight.
