There is BS flying in all directions with this, and a lot of holes in the facts that we'll never see. All we know is that the employee made out just fine with a new job and the manager is probably up s**t creek for the way he handled the situation if he really did fire the guy the way he allegedly did. Beyond that, unless someone produces a handbook or a personnel/HR file (which would be illegal), we won't know the history.

They asked the guy if he fired the guy for wearing the tie, he stated "Yes". Where do you get insubordination?

I was going by the reports that the employee was asked at least twice to remove the tie.

Asked by a WGN-Ch. 9 reporter if he’d fired Stone for wearing a Packer’s tie, Webb Chevrolet general manager Jerry Roberts said, “Correct.”

Radio version I heard said this douchmunch tol' the reporter he was OK with the guy wearing the tie on Saturday before the game if wanted but not the Monday afterwards.

Another notch in the stupid column
Stop the insanity!

Guys can and have been fired for a lot less than what he's been accused of, and while you may not agree with it or like it that's the way it goes.

Wrongful termination? Really?

Last time I checked a Packers tie is not considered a protected class.

Who knows what went on beyond the scenes with this guy?

Attention grab? Possibly. Insubordination? More likely.

Disagree.

If your job is to interact with the public and you wear a Packer tie the day after a heartbreaking loss for the home team...I can see why a boss might think that some customers might be turned off by that...before the game it is friendly rivalry, after the game it is rubbing it in.

The guy is not very smart with the media afterward, I agree with that 100%.

This story is already too big... but I'm wondering if there's any truth to that statement at all. Again... no mention of it on their website...

I heard something about radio ads during their games or maybe post/pregame shows.
