My favorite Super Bowl commercial was the Snoop/Brady 'Stand up to Hate' spot.
Hands down.

In one aspect, this game reminded me a little bit of Super Bowl XII, Dallas over Denver in early 1978. That was the first Super Bowl I ever watched as a kid, the co MVPs were DE Harvey Martin and DT Randy White. This yearβs MVP voting could have easily gone to a defensive guy or 2.
That said, Hurts overall had a very good day and of the offensive guys he probably was most deserving.

I did not see this coming. I did not foresee a 4 man rush from Philly completely dominating KCs OLine. Eagles never vacated the middle of the field, where Mahomes/Kelce+ made their dough during the season. A nearly perfect defensive plan. The big boys up front is where it all starts. Loved the rush scheme- push, push, then go to the middle and stop the step up.
Six sacks, ten pressures on Mahomes, zero Eagles blitzes. I can't even dream of that for the Packers.
Defense does indeed win championships.
Only if theyβre dominant up front.

As much as I donβt like the Eagles, I found myself rooting for them yesterday. I think most NFL fans have just gotten tired of the Chiefs like they tired of the Patriots.
Having a great QB gives you a huge advantage in the NFL but yesterday was a reminder it truly is the ultimate team game. Man for man Philly was on another level from basically every other team. There were no glaring weaknesses on that team. Pretty rare to find that in the parity driven NFL nowadays.
What Packers would start on that team? X, the punter? Can't really count Jaire since he doesn't play anymore. Kraft? Cooper?

I think Elgton Jenkins and Zach Tom are as as good as some of those Philly O Linemen but yeah, man for man Philly has an incredible starting lineup. Their depth is pretty good as well.

I'm actually pretty proud of how the Packers played against the Eagles. They played way better than the Chiefs, that's for sure.
Eagles have the most " Tallant " but like every other pro sport ego's will get in the way. Lesser known players on the championship team will want their "piece of the pie" and fade into obscurity in J'ville and Carolina. Same goes for coaches. There have been many coordinators getting a Head Coaching gig only to flame out (Nagy) and end back coordinating .
I think the most striking thing to me is the turnaround PHI made in one offseason. From nosediving into the playoffs and getting routed out by TB 32-9, then replacing both coordinators in the offseason they end up trucking KC for the ring. Granted, much of the roster that was just in the SB two years ago was still in place so something out of the ordinary clearly went wrong last year. But to make literally all the right adjustments, including really big ones, in one offseason is very impressive.

Exactly. If they can find a way to get a real pass rush going, shore up the receiving corps, and have Love healthy look out for this team.

Washington is coming on strong and IMHO are the team most likely to take the next step.

That's the main reason I'm glad KC lost. Had they won, everyone would have said it's the first 3-peat, overlooking that the Packers already did it twice.

The talent gap between these two teams appears to be considerable. I'm thinking we need a couple of good off seasons to catch up but you never know. The NFL is dynamic and everything changes. We definitely need WR's, CB's and Pass Rushers, not to mention figuring out what to do at C and possibly needing to add another LB. Quite a few holes in the roster. Disappointing that we have 4-1st round picks on the DL and none are meeting expectations. Even though we had a better record this year than the previous, this year ended with more pessimism especially with how poorly the WR's performed and losing the last 3 in a row including the embarrassing loss to the Bears.
Who knew that Oren Burks, who had a horrible Super Bowl performance last year for the Niners, was one of the missing links for the Eagles D?
Still pissed they traded up in the draft to grab DeJean.

This game was another example of how the front four and pass rush is where championships are earned - just like the Giants did twice in defeating Brady. Hoping Hafley and MLF take note as GB will never get it done lining up guys like Enagbare, Van Ness, a worn out Kenny Clark and the rest of the bunch. Many are nice complimentary players, but only D Wyatt has the potential to be a real disrupter. Gary never played to his potential at Michigan and aside from one contract year, has not really done so in GB.
Didn't Vince say that football was a simple game and it comes down to blocking and tackling? Eagles sure excelled at both yesterday.

Oh trust me I agree that Philly's roster is way better than the Packers is right now especially along the DL. But the NFL is a cruel animal when it comes to free agency, coaches leaving, and injuries. It could be very likely that if certain things happen, they could fall back to the pack.
If they can avoid an injury plagued year and they can successfully replace guys who leave its going to be tough for NFC teams to keep up at least in the near term.
Plus, I want them to fall back to the rest of the teams because I don't want their insufferable a hole fans any joy in life.

Nothing good happens on offense unless people get blocked. Ask the Chiefs. The Packers, with 3/5 of an offensive line and missing their best, Jenkins, did a better job of blocking the Eagles than the Chiefs did, even though they had the mighty Creed Humphrey and we only had the not-good-enough-weak-link Josh Myers.
Right now, the Packers have 5 guys on their roster who have shown they can play on the offensive line. They have a couple of unproven, mostly untested backups. Our season ended with one of those backups on the field.
I think that improving the line is THE priority. Four years in a row now our season has ended with backup offensive linemen on the field and us scoring 10, 16, 21, and 10 points. Different QBs, different RBs, different superduper WRs, same result. And on the horizon, Tom, Walker, and Rhyan are all entering their contract year.
So, rather than spend $25M on a WR, I'd rather get some reliable beef. If we could sign one legitimate guy as a backup (Myers?) and draft ONE guy on Day 2, we'd at least be able to go 7 deep. Maybe Glover or Monk is better next year.

The 22-10 loss to the Eagles doesn't look as bad anymore, considering what they did to the Commies and Chiefs. The Packers played the Eagles as tough as anyone did.
The Chiefs, and Mahomes in particular just got a lesson from Mike Tyson. Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. Patrick saw phantom punches raining down on him even when he wasn't under pressure.
While we need corners, the lines, both sides, should be the focus of the draft. Also, the Eagles showed how important mid-level free agents can be. It's not all about marquee signings.

Something really went rotten last season for them on D. They were top 5 D in 22, then near bottom in 23 and now #1 this season. Most of the same guys with some mid level FA's that played better in PHI than they had at previous stops. And then Fangio of course.
SF has done the same thing though more than once. They'll field a top 5 D, have a down year allowing them to retool and draft higher, then pop back up again.
Bart would not be bragging. He would be including his teammates and coaches.

KC let their OL whither since last year. The final nail was losing their starting LT early in the season and not having a viable replacement for him. They held up with band aids and duct tape to make it all the way back to the SB then ran into the worst possible matchup.
I donβt like him because if there were a Defensive Rookie of the Year award only for guys named Cooper (and there should be), then Edgerrin would have ended up in second place.

Hindsight is 20-20 of course, but looking like another big miss from a decent, but very overrated GM.
