As others have said I do not understand how Dallas gets so much coverage for a team that hasn't done squat in 30 years.

ESPN is really dead.  I don't watch the network really outside of live sporting events anymore.  But, I couldn't help myself this morning.  So far not one peep about how MLF had a great game plan and they went in to their place and curb stomped them.  And they have yet to even mention the team from Detroit that looked pretty darn good last night.

Oh and if you have never watched the horrid show Get up?  don't bother with it and find something else to watch.

I remember watching Dan Patrick say that at "The Mothership" (ESPN) they are required to talk about the Cowboys and Lebron a certain number of times per day because those two items get the most views regardless of good or bad they're doing.

It's sad but ESPN needs to pay the bills so they're going to talk about whatever gets them views and it's obvious the Packers and Lions are not it.  Probably shows you the intelligence of the average ESPN viewer.

Ok, one last comment on the talking heads dissing the Packers, Jordan, Matt, or any thing Green Bay………..was absolutely shocked when Michael Irvine was really talking up Jordan, and happen to mention, that Jordan’s comrades really loved Jordan and really loved playing with him, not like #12.   😳 😳 😳  and in any sports, baseball, basketball it was ok to not like each other, BUT football you had to get along, and the players loved Jordan.  Thought that was pretty cool.

How the Packers and the Texans are not the biggest stories blows my mind. 2 young up and coming teams with young QBs who are playing the best at their positions? What’s stories. Instead, the national press have gamed the narrative around ratings and decided to kill the real stories.

The biggest plus?  I'll tell you what the biggest plus is.  It's all that cryin' from the media as to how bad the Cowboy's were/are; that they gave the game to the Packers. Ninety percent plus hearing that narrative regarding the game.  Too fucking funny and good for us.  They, the media, gave very little credit to the Packers, bringing up the Giants game etc. They collectively still think the Packers suck.  Well fuck them and I hope the Packers feel the same way I do.  Packers have nothing to lose. NOTHIN! Love has proven himself.  He has nothing to lose.  NOTHIN! I hope the Packers use this as additional motivation to go down to San Francisco, oops, Santa Clara and pull out a victory.  And, if they do not, well, then I cannot wait until next year.  There is a lot of talent on this team and I ain't eating anymore crow.

The fact that anyone at all talks about this poverty franchise amazes me.

Jerry is in front of the cameras all effing day. They promote themselves as America's Team

If they want to compete with the Packers and Niners and Eagles.....they need to blow it all up and start over. Dak is a good QB & even better person....but he isn't special as a player.

That means getting rid of Dak and his $60M per year contract. Getting rid of solid but not spectacular HC, MM.....getting rid of Dan Quinn who has been completely exposed by the Niners and now the Packers.....blueprint is out there now.....and the sharks.....they smell blood in the water.

It's a tough business. You know what you sign up for when you start. Unless you're the HC of the Steelers you don't usually last more than 10 years....in most cases 5 years.

I would imagine that most, if not all of the posters, who do not like/watch ESPN. Fox Sports, the AM talk shows, the Pre/Post Game shows, etc. do not fall into the coveted 18-35 age group. And that's where the marketing dollars to support the shows are generated.  I stopped watching/listening to all of that crap a decade or more ago. Just not interesting and the formats are too "sponsored" and too over the top.

I have too PackLandVA.  However, this morning was an exception because I wanted the entertainment that I knew I would get.  I just Love listening to Cowboys misery.  It's almost as fun as listening to the cryin' Queens fans.  What a good year this has been!

The only time I ever tune into that stuff is if I'm not working (Like today) and even then its only if I anticipate Packer news.

I set the "hot take" shows to record this morning for the first time ever on YTTV. Get them far enough along and fast forward to all the Packers content.

The only non live sports I watch with any regularity on ESPN is PTI and Around The Horn.

I am very happy the Packers won.   But I want to throw a shout out to Jake Ferguson.   He played a great game, never quit like the rest of Cryboys.  Happy for the former Badger and Barry's grandson.

I can't stand to be shouted at all day by anyone. Wait. I'm a teacher.

Anyway, all the showmanship -- and the young women who are for looks only and not serious content -- is a change-channel moment for me.

I remember Patrick saying that about the mothership and it definitely is the truth.

It is true the Cowboys move the needle because people hate the very sight of them or they are "fans" but what ESPN doesn't get is that not everyone is a Cowboys, LABron, or a Yankees fan.

As for the pluses and minuses yesterday:

Positives

MLF put together a great game plan that stressed the defense and took it to them and he seemed to know exactly how to do it.  It won't happen but I still think he deserves some coach of the year talk for how he turned this thing around.  I also think Gute could possibly be in the consideration for GM of the year or whatever their award is.   Neither one will happen but I have to applaud both of them for the job they have done.

Jordan Love man that dude is growing right before our eyes and is so cool and in charge of the offense right now.  So refreshing seeing a QB playing within the offense and not playing hero ball or a tantrum if a receiver makes a mistake.

Also, it was so awesome seeing the defense getting turnovers and making Dallas pay for their mistakes.  They gave up a lot of yards which normally I would be bitching about but not today.

Go Pack Go!

Same thing on the NFL Channel on XM. Mostly how bad the Cowpukes played and What's Jerry gonna do. The fact that Bellicheat being a FA made it even worse. Then the news the Hairball was talking with the Chargers sucked out the remaining air time

+ Pro Bowler Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence

+ Cowboy's defense held without a sack for the first time this season

+ Pro Bowler Darond Bland (he played, right?)

+ Pro Bowler Brandon Aubrey (he missed a PAT also)

+ Cowboy's O-line gave up 4 sacks

+ Pro Bowler Dak Prescott with 2 INTs and his 4th lowest passer rating of season

Just a masterful job by the coaching staff and players.

On Offense ;; Cowboys played a light box (which Wahle said they would) on something like 48 of our 58 offensive plays. That accounted for our success running the ball. In pass coverage they played mostly man and tried to undercut routes (which is why they get so many interceptions), MLF countered by having a lot of change of direction routes, starting inside and then going out (Doubs, Musgrave plays). Up front we won individual matchups in both run and pass. Jones' vision and ability to spin off hits was on full display. Zero drops for our receivers.

On Defense;; Cowboys had a lot of success  all season passing on First and Second downs, Barry countered by playing mostly nickel on those downs. As Olsen pointed out, our zone coverage was much better, much like a basketball "match up", where they actually guarded men in their area instead of just staring at the ball. Very few, if any missed tackles. We didn't really get much pressure on Bak, but only let him get pit to run once. Defense overall played really "fast"

Special Teams;; Gave up one big kick return and missed an extra [oint, but .... had 3 punts inside the 10 yard line and 2 KO coverages that had Dallas starting inside their 15 yard line.

A really good breakdown of MLF's schemes against the Cowboys. This is the kind of stuff I used to love watching on ESPN (The Edge NFL matchup with Jaworski and  Merrill Hoge, for example).

Baldinger and Sterling Sharpe did some of this on their NFL Playbook series as well.  Favorite series, also gone.

I've heard him say this too. Cowboys, LeBron, and Aaron Rodgers are the keys right now. It's whatever their research department has found will generate the most eyeballs.

Every move that happens in Dallas will be dissected on a daily basis for hours, and we'll hear almost nothing about the Lions, Packers, or anyone else. The Chiefs might get some notice, but Taylor Swift is not well liked by the demographic they are going after - the 18 to 35 year old males that love McAfee and guys like Andrew Tate. That's what the social media era has created.

All of sports (and news and politics) has turned into a WWE segment. Scream, yell, and it's all about selling personalities.

I'm only half-joking when I say that there will be a segment this week about how playing behind Aaron Rodgers is the real reason why Jordan Love has become a great QB.

DAL very likely captures the largest portion of the NFL audience by having possibly the most fans, and the most haters.  They may have as many haters as a team like the Chargers has fans.  All the haters are slobbering up all the DAL loss coverage this morning.  Ratings guaranteed.

Found on the internet: Take a moment to celebrate the night of Romeo Doubs, who produced 151 receiving yards while running only 16 total routes. That’s almost 10 yards per route run. An elite number at the wide receiver position over the course of a full season is around 2.0 yards per route run. Doubs averaged 9.44 on Sunday. He caught all six targets and averaged 25.2 yards per catch. The performance is one of the most efficient by a wide receiver in modern NFL playoff history — Doubs is just the 10th player to produce 150 or more receiving yards on six or fewer catches in the postseason.
