Here is a useful quote when discussing rumors about the Packers.

He's funny, but I think that is pretty much he truth of the situation. TT is an odd bird.
You'd act odd if you were recovering from dengue fever.
News is that the Lions are trying hard to move up to get Watkins to pair with Megatron.
Ted probably has bird flu or something
It makes your face droop.
Wow, watching the NFLN mock draft. They went to commercial for the Packers' pick. That's realistic.
Rusty you have a lot of junk running on your system.
You visit one too many "tribute" sites to the Iowa Police Benevolence Association...
Go to any Bills blog over the offseason and read the comments. You have grown men who, without a single ounce of irony, refer to watching YouTube montages of a projected 8th round pick from Purdue as "watching tape", as though Mike McCarthy has user JimKellyNation_69 on speed-dial.
And none of them true.
I like Beckham but with so many good receivers in the draft it would be silly to trade up for one if you're the Eagles, especially with all the help they need on defense.
Little write up from Brandt about the Packers war room and the story of drafting Rodgers. I'm pretty sure I've heard some version of this story several times, but worth the quick read.
Every Packer fan wants some 'Irish Chocolate'.
I’ve heard a story of one boisterous general manager too busy gloating about a trade to call it in; by the time he did, the pick had passed.

Looks like he has been eating too much Irish chocolate.

Just to keep things interesting, what if the Bucs had called, offering their 2nd round pick, 3rd round pick, and 2006 second round pick? Bucs were rumored to be the last spot for Rodgers before his fall, so could have happened. I factored in a premium b/c the trade was for a QB. Here is the best i came up with:
2005 second round (36): Vincent Jackson (went 61st)
2005 third round (71): Justin Tuck (went 74th)
2006 second round (59): Maurice Jones Drew (went 60th)
Obviously this never would have happened with hindsight being 20/20, but still not sure I'd trade Rodgers straight up for those 3.

3 NFL people I trust say league is giving serious consideration to scheduling draft a week or two later in 2015.
Giving teams even less time to get rookies ready.
They're also considering moving it to either L.A. or Chicago....maybe BOTH as they extend it out over 4 days. 2 days in each city.
Will I be given plane tickets & VIP tickets to both destinations? I hope so. How will I ever keep up with Rusty's pick threads?!?!?
One more gem.
Talking to Roger Goodell, sounds like get ready for a four-day NFL Draft starting next year.
The move to LA and/or Chicago is inevitable. Read the other day that NFL contract with NY for the draft is done after this year so moving it to different cities every year is a very real possibility. Bringing it to a city without a NFL team would be part of it I'm sure. Hello Minneapolis!
Just maybe, if the NFLFU is looking for more exposure, it can combine the draft with the WWE and WrestleMania, since it moves each year from city to city.
Scuttlebutt going around that Mike Glennon is on the block. If he can be had for a 4th/5th rounder and the team is set on another arm, I think I'd much rather see him brought in for the backup fight than a rookie.
Sure didn't set the world on fire, but showed he can play in the NFL. That's not a given with even a 2nd round pick.
Lovie does not want him as a QB for his team but probably thinks Glennon is worth a 2nd round pick at least. Of course Lovie has always been a little off center.
Lovie is high if he thinks Glennon is worth a 2nd round pick. Of course I thought K.C. was high when they traded all those picks for Alex Smith, so what do I know.
19 TDS and 9 INTS as a rookie? Those are superb numbers for a rookie. I didn't watch him play much though, so I don't know much he affected those numbers.
Too much of the Bucs' budget was being spent on giraffe food.
He excels at avoiding sacks.
Mayocks top 100 players. I kind of trust his board and will be interested how it plays out.
Trust what though? That isn't a mock, it's just his ranking of the prospects. A mock would identify who would be taking who, factoring in fit/need, etc. For example, he has a RB, Sankey (who?) ranked at 16 but does anybody including Mayock see him going in RD1?

Helmet Hair recognizes reality.
There is so much about this story that is simply fascinating.
Cleveland spends $100k on an exhaustive advanced analytics study to find out who's the best QB in this draf. That's interesting. The results come back with Teddy Bridgewater's name as THE QB in this class. Not sure if the report said he can actually play QB or if he's just the best QB in this draft class.
What pushes this story over the top is Cleveland releasing the information a few hours before the draft starts. Did the study really even happen??? Did Jimmy Haslam just spend $100k for the most elaborate draft smokescreen of all time??? Is Teddy B really the best QB and Cleveland felt like they had to tell someone immediately???

WHY?????
Let me try and explain GL. You see, if the draft is held two weeks later in the year, and they don't push the start of the season back two weeks as well, it means the incoming rookies will have a full two weeks LESS to prepare for the season.
I hope this helps.
