I just read today that we might need a rookie CB. See, the Bears have uncoordinated fat tall slow WRs and Devon House sucks too bad to cover them 'cause he ain't tall enough. We just hasta draft another tall CB 'cause shrimps can't defend slow fat uncoordinated slob WRs.

The Bears have a history of playing mostly pretty solid defense. How tall is their CB?

I'd prefer not to see the draft pushed back any further, but I don't think extending it over 4 days is necessarily a bad idea.

Assuming it's motivated by selling it to the network(s), it breaks up the incredibly long draft coverage, making it much more palatable, IMO. Just the ticket for fans, teams, beer companies, erectile enhancement/testosterone manufacturers, car makers with wildly unrealistic depictions of their products in action, and clothing companies whose commercials make absolutely no sense to anyone.

Too often, I can't remember what I go into the next room for, or leave the kitchen without the drink I had just prepared, and so much more, but I can remember playing Lamont Cranston one year in Jr High School (8th/9th grade?). No idea why the teacher picked me, but it was fun, and sparked an interest in old-time radio programs.

Yes, let's extend it out over the course of like 4 holidays. Let's say from Easter through Labor Day! Just think of all the money we could make not to mention Boris having to stay in NY 4-5 months because we know how much he enjoys watching it. This is brilliant strategy by our commish. Outstanding work!

If someone like St Louis called TT about moving up for a second WR behind Watkins, or a QB in waiting, or Ha-Ha Safety and offered you their 44th, 75th, and 110th would you grab the picks?

Lot of tallant.

Me too Rusty.

Saw today a pic of HaHa in a Packer T-shirt. Seems like a very religous dude (from the pic, his comment at the bottom of his tweet and poster on the wall), which was Tweeted or on Instagram, cant figure them all out, but it was posted on Wilde's twitter feed on his site on ESPN.

I dont know how or cant figure out how to post pics here nowadays. But, it seemed legit. Who knows what will happen in about two weeks, but interesting nonetheless.

I fear that if Ha Ha becomes a Packer he will be doomed to be nicknamed "Lord Haw Haw," and that would be in poor taste, if not downright offensive to the men like my dad who fought in WWII.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord_Haw-Haw

Mark your calendars... be sure not to miss it... certain to be riveting, quite frankly...

Ted Thompson will be holding his pre-draft Packers press conference Thursday at noon.

Packers hosting Tom Savage for pre-draft visit. As the article points out, this is interesting because A) the team uses the bulk of these visits meeting with late round or undrafted prospects B) Savage is set to be shooting up draft boards, seen as high as a 2nd round pick in some cases.

I think we have found Uncle Ted's first red herring of draft season!

He wants teams to THINK he wants Tom Savage so someone will take him early and another player will get pushed to the Packers. Or maybe he WANTS us to think that because he IS going to take Tom Savage!

Well played White Fox!

Packers Reported workout/visits (so far):

Luke Bowanko, C, Virginia

Jeremy Butler, WR, Tennessee-Martin

Brandon Dixon, CB, Northwest Missouri State

John Fullington, G, Washington State

Brock Jensen, QB, North Dakota State

Jimmy Staten, DT, Middle Tennessee State

Keith Wenning, QB, Ball State

I have read a couple of articles lately that Kyle Fuller might be a very good CB that could also play safety. If Ha Ha and Pryor are gone or even there I wonder if Ted would look to this guy who is faster. Reminds me of Nick Collins type of safety.

Brock Jensen is pretty intriguing. Big guy with nice pro-day numbers. NFL arm.

Then there's this. NDSU went to Kansas St week 1 last year and pulled off the upset. Jensen led an 18 play drive to win the game. Completed every pass attempt he made on the drive. Based on a graphic during the clip he completed his final 15 attempts in that game. 73-7 as a starting QB going back to HS.

CJ Mosley, Calvin Pryor, Darqueze Dennard, Ryan Shazier, Jimmy Ward, Odell Bekham, Brandin Cooks, Cyrus Kouandjio, Morgan Moses.

All in play. All would make fine 1st round picks. Four more picks in the next three rounds that are historically when Ted does his best work in a loaded draft class. Ted might be able to back out of 21 and still get some of the guys on that last and make it 5 picks in rounds 2-4. If Mosley is sitting there at 21 it would take a strong offer to move back though.

May 8 can't come soon enough.

I do not get the comparison. On NFLdraftscout.com they had Collins ranked as the 17 best CB. This despite the fact that he mostly played safety. I have yet to find a prospect rating for him as a safety. Media scouts apparently thought he did not deserve to be rated as a safety. Apparently TT was the only person on the planet who thought Collins could play safety, and I don't think the Packers even toyed with the idea of switching him to CB.

And GB fans hated the pick. They were angry. They were saying the draft was a bust other than WRs Murphy and Bragg. Remember them?

Fuller is ranked as the 3rd-best CB in this draft. He's from a big school. Collins was from a school that practically nobody knows.

And this is the kicker: by conventional scouting standards, Collins was too short to play safety (the fact is a talented player does not have to be tall to play safety in the NFL). This why so many people slam Jimmie Ward. At same the height as Nick Collins, they think he's too short (Jimmie Ward plays a lot like Collins).

Right now, Chris Banjo is more like Nick Collins that Fuller is.

Could Fuller switch to safety? Perhaps so, but not because he's anything like Collins. He's the opposite of Collins. He has none of the Collins warts.

Here's a quick, interesting read. The author studied games over the past 14 years, and found that teams missing their top WR replaced about 90% of his expected yardage and first down production, but only 70% of his TDs.

It's interesting as it relates to the draft as it might imply that a go-up-and-get-it type WR could have more value than a similarly ranked catch and YAC type.

Thanks for clearing that up JZ, I'm glad you're only pointing out the size, school, and perceived draft status similarities between certain players because that's how you truly compare.

If you want a fair comparison of Kyle Fuller, I see him as a poor man's Charles Woodson honestly. He's not as fast or freakishly athletic, but if there's a player in this draft who could fill that hybrid/multiple position role that Woodson played in GB, it is Fuller. Bud Foster had Fuller playing all over the field...Nickel Safety, Slot CB, CB, OLB, at the line, centerfield, etc. He's a really versatile weapon on D. Would he be able to step in Day 1 and be strictly a FS? Maybe, he is certainly is talented enough. That would be a waste IMO because there are so many things he could do. Fuller has always kind of been a darkhorse for me at 21 because he's an outside the box kind of pick. They have a ton of money sunk into the CB position and they have a need at Safety so drafting a hybrid player with no true position, who won't be a true FS, is a hard thing for me to bet on. Then again they may view Hyde/Burnett as the answers at SS/FS and they may want a versatile weapon like Fuller. Tough to say, but he will be a good player in the NFL if he stays healthy.
