I'll be curious to see how Kaepernick does under the bright lights and the big stage. He's been up and down so far for the Niners and much like the Vikings if they don't try to RTFB then I think it's playing right into GB's hands. Having Woodson test the rookie will be huge IMO.

For the Packers to win this one they need to take what the defense gives them (similar to the Vikings game) and not get greedy or impatient. The 49ers play a straight up type D but their front seven is significantly better than Minnesota. It will be critical that the OL does a better job than week 1 against those guys because if they don't they will be picking Rodgers up off the turf a lot.

Sounds like he's gonna try to give it a go, but there is no way he's going to be close to healthy. He has a partial triceps tear. Aldon Smith hasn't recorded a sack ever since he went down. With this Packers OL, a severely limited Justin Smith(or hell, an inactive one) will be huge
The o-line needs to have their best game of the season if the Packers are to win this game. Yesterdays game was all about the toughness of the defense, and they answered. This game it's all about the toughness of the offensive line. Hopefully they'll answer too. I was not impressed with the o-line yesterday (neither was Lang and MM), so hope they focus on this in their preparation this week. EDS, Lang and Barclay played like s**t yesterday, especially in the run game in the second half. You can deal with that at home against the Vikings, but that won't work on the road against the 49ers.

I know most fans associate "being aggressive" and "going for the jugular" with throwing the ball, and "being conservative" and "playing to lose" with running the ball, but this team cannot throw the ball 40+ times because the 49ers front seven will tee off Rodgers. And I don't think Newhouse and Barclay can handle that. At the same time, they can't just run the ball for 2.2 YPC (like they did against the Vikings when you remove AR's rushes) just to run it b/c at that point, the 49ers don't need to respect the run and they can still tee off on Rodgers.

The o-line has to buck up and play, because the crap they've been showing in the run game isn't good enough to win a Super Bowl right now. Super Bowl teams don't kick FG's when they have first goal at the 2 yard line. If they don't, I foresee significant changes in the offseason (of our five starters right now, only Sitton's job is secure, everyone else's is up for grabs).
I don't want to see the Packers give Kaepernick time to throw. He's not a great passer, but he's no Joe Webb. Pressure him and let Woodson/Williams/Hayward jump some routes. I don't think Kaepernick has faced a CB group like the Packers...Woodson and Williams have a habit of making first year starters look bad. Harbaugh will have him prepared, but prepared and ready are two very different things. Matthews and Co. need to do their job though and throw of Kaep's timing.

Unfortunately, this is on Rodgers more than MM. While Rodgers is great at extending the play, there were two or three plays against the Vikings that Rodgers should have just thrown the ball away but instead took a sack. With his o-line, he just doesn't have the kind of time to let those down field plays develop. He has to be disciplined against the 49ers and get rid of the ball before he gets sacked. 2nd and 10 is ok. 2nd and 18 isn't.
Reading the 49er forums, man a whole hell of a lot of arrogance is spewing from those boards.

9er fans are convinced they have nothing to worry about. I hope that same arrogance is permeating from the team as well. Would love nothing more then for the 9er's to not take the Packers seriously.

Yeah, the common theme I've been reading/hearing here is that GB has zero defense and doesn't run the ball at all. They have been running it much better the last month and as we all know, the D is a top 15 unit and actually had more INT's and Sacks than the vaunted Niners D
