We have a #2?

Cobb didn't suddenly become an average football player and there's probably nobody more frustrated at the play of Randall Cobb than Randall Cobb himself. He pressed a bit last year and struggled and that seems to be the case again. He'll work his way through it and I've seen nothing to change my opinion that he's an elite slot player and the contract he received was a good deal for all parties involved.

He is an elite player, just like Rodgers.  The difference is they are missing a piece to the puzzle of a offense they have run consistently over the past, which created the matchups that made Cobb dangerous.  This offense can't evolve to use the talents available and adjust properly because there's a ****ing idiot calling the plays.

The entire D played with the attitude that Daniels brings every down.

And there's Neal and Perry playing contain.  Those are two guys that are a hell of a load at OLB being able to handle blockers while still pushing the play back to the line of scrimmage.  They are pressure and contain in heavy packages and playing against RBs like POS, they are invaluable.

Now stay healthy boys.

What seems to be a real puzzle is outside of Daniels this defense has really had issues positioning and getting good 3-4 DE play.  Raji never should've been moved off NT and Daniels seems to win not only because of tenacity but a wrestling background.  It's obvious TT was thinking Ringo was in the same mold and may still be.  I don't think Datone is some wasted pick, I think the DE position is probably the most unceremonious albeit least effectively utilized position on this defense and they looked at his athleticism thinking he would be able to move and stunt down the line but he's getting washed out just like Raji was.

Guys like Perry, Neal and now Datone are all guys that can make a impact when put in a position to truly use their talents, which really seem a better fit for a 4-3 defense.  Put in the pluggers/lane fillers like Pennel next to Raji and give guys like Datone, Perry and Neal more room to hold contain and room to fight off blockers in space.  Keep letting Raji and Daniels use their hustle as big dudes to penetrate and not just hold.  Quit under utilizing the DE position.

Bakhtiari is an improving player. However, the officials aren't picking on him. Athleticism and feet are the hardest-to-find commodities for a left tackle. His problem has been lazy hands, and it's one that shouldn't be hard to correct. When Corey Linsley (ankle) went out after 12 plays, the call went to JC Tretter, who had played two snaps from scrimmage (LG) this year. Linval Joseph, a premier nose tackle, suddenly became his responsibility. Tretter was impressive. He showed the quickness and footwork to reach 1- and 2-techniques. He flashed quickness to the LB level, especially smothering MLB Eric Kendricks about five times, and good snap and punch. His numbers (one pressure, partial involvement in four "bad" runs) were reasonable for a 65-snap effort with minimal practice time.

Where the **** is this Solari clown?  I was very excited about picking him up and we've seen the worst tackle play in a long time.  I guess it's easy to look capable when you're constantly working with high 1st round oline draft picks.

Yeah, Bak continues to get by on grit and duct tape.

But it could be worse.

Vikings.com just released a special commemorative Matt Kalil 2012 3rd Overall Pick tree ornament in time for the holidays.

The Vikings SUCK!!!!!

Per the position grades, Matthews had a hard time getting past Kalil, just sayin'.

Kalil had a bad year last year with a knee injury, but he's been their best o-lineman this year (though that's not saying much).

Cog sounds too disparaging perhaps...integral cog.  He isn't the engine but the engine sputters and backfires without him too.

Bakhtiari is good enough to win with. He's not a liability, but he's never going to be at the level of a Chad Clifton, let alone a perennial Pro Bowler.

TT will hopefully continue to take best player available. That's what netted us Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, etc.

It would be nice if the BPA was a potential superstar TE or ILB. You can get those drafting in the 20s in the first round. Pro Bowl LTs are generally gone within the top 10.
