Offense was bad, defense was bad and ST had some good moments but also missed an XP.
Just not a good football team.

+ Watson. You see the talent. Now stop quitting on routes kid
+ Only a couple more weeks until we get to see some extended Love.
Negs
- Joe Barry insistence on zone.
- Calls didnβt go our way tonight like they did last week.
- Probably have one more year of Savage.
There was a time Rodgers could cover the warts of badly coached Packer teams and/or teams who didnβt have enough talent.
That time is gone. LaFluer is getting out coached time and again. Players are clueless on both sides of the ball of what do. Barry has no idea how to do in-game adjustments.
And 39 year old Rodgers is playing a lot like old Favre did when the temps and conditions drop.
Great, we got another skunt sister trying to get famous off her brothers talent.
Of course she is a real estate agent. Perfect job for someone with no skill who wants to be grossly over paid.
Brett Favre is rolling over in his jail cell right now.

+Amari Rodgers with his best game of the season
-LaFleur is lacking them 'leader of men' vibes. Can we hire Jeff Saturday direct off of Indy? "Head coach" is technically a promotion from "Interim head coach" right? MLF can stay on the staff as part-time offensive consultant/waterboy.
-Team has a lot of quit in it. Losing football is easier to watch when at least you can see effort interspersed with the incompetence.
-Crosby needs to be put out to pasture
-Barry is a nutless wonder. Everybody sees it. I'm not going to argue against it. Keeping Pettine probably would have been better, but a scapegoat was needed and a scapegoat was served.
-Amazon's broadcast sucks. Thursday games suck.
-World Cup during football season... in the desert?
Playoffs are out of reach, not much more needs to be said.

There's been a lot of assuming going on inside 1265 for a while now. Rodgers doing his part to assume the position of the cold old man. If there's a silver lining, we only had to wait one week to be reminded how bad they really are. They didn't tease us deep into December. The lack of energy is on par with any bad Packers team in recent history.
Lazard has 11 targets and 5 catches. They ran the ball 19 times. More stupid from McStupid Face Part Deux.
And Joe Barry is another McStupid Face Part Deux problem.
Rodgers looking old in the cold (and admitted this in the post-game when he said he didn't make many good throws and didn't have a good feel for the ball). But let's run the ball just 19 times. See: McStupid Face Part Deux.
I was worried about Crosby before the season began, better to move on a year too early than a year too late.

If you listen to the announcers most games they will tell you something that came out in their production meetings with coaches / players. Two things from last night that Michaels / Herbstreit said early in the game from Vrabel ; 1) The tougher team would win this game ..."and he thinks he has the tougher team" 2) They "liked" their matchup with Savage. Titans were better than us in every phase of the game .... with a less talented roster. If not for the 4th down stop and the pick ,the game would have been a complete rout. They beat us up front on both sides of the ball (toughness that was talked about) and in the passing game. Their back up DBs had no blown coverages and were physical with our receivers .....just the opposite with our DBs.
Bottom line: Titans were better prepared, better coached and the tougher team and the Packer organization needs a top-to-bottom evaluation.

Tough to say other than draft position and Watson family member antics on Twitter
- - -
Not enough time in the day and too many examples to list
The mental mistakes have to point to coaching at this point, since it is not isolated to one or two players
- Every week this team finds a new way to fail...no unit, no player, no coach is free of blame. No one has to be perfect all the time, but losses are a collection of failures. The team that fails the least almost always wins.
- If MLF, Gurt...whoever has the nutsack to make a change, chooses to stick with Barry, this team will never win anything meaningful. He is a lifelong position coach thrust into a role he is ill-equipped to handle. There are a bunch of good DC looking for work. I don't give a shit if it's not your perfect scheme...get the guy who can tailor the scheme to the talent you have. Good HC recognize coaching talent.
+ Bisaccia is a great fucking coach...he has the misfortune of having some dumb fucking players. Give him another year or two...he will make Packers ST the best they've been since Nolan Cromwell era.
+ Bakh and Jenkins...you want to talk about gamers...both guys were clearly less than 100% and fought their asses off.
+ Watson, when healthy, has the physical tools to be elite...but whoever said for him to quit giving up on routes nailed it...but the kid is a rook...that can be fixed with coaching.
+ You fuckers are being too hard on Savage...the guy is struggling largely because Dingle Barry doesn't know how to use him. Get the right DC in here, put him in the right position, he will be good again.
Though it may not seem like it, this team is close...but it needs some key changes in the off-season in order to have a prayer of winning a title in the next two years...that is Rodgers window.
1. Get rid of Barry
2. Use draft picks (sorry, I know this hurts you Gurt) to get a competent #1 WR in a trade.
3. Upgrade the TE position...Big Bob is a complimentary #2 TE at best.

Toughness is something that this team does not have and its no coincidence that this has been brought up a few times this season.
Positives:
The defense did a pretty good job not letting Henry run wild.
Watson looks special and he is starting to catch up from all that time he has missed
The OL is starting to settle down
Negatives:
What more can you say about his defense? I freaking just give up on them having a good defense at some point. You CANNOT keep giving up 18 play drives that consume almost a whole quarter of the game. They are flat out soft and other teams are just imposing their will on them. I am not one to say fire a coach but Barry needs to go and they need to find someone out there that teaches a physical style of play.
I don't get it. They were plenty "tough" late in the season and in the playoffs last year on D. They didn't lose anyone of significance.
You wonder if the whole team goes as Rodgers goes. He's looked disinterested in every loss, from the beginning of the game on. He had it out last weekend to not let MM beat them and you could tell in his play. And in the whole team's play. One guy shouldn't have that much sway, even if he's the HOF QB.
Why does it seem like the best tacklers and most physical defenders are always guys who came from other teams? Ford, Nixon, Rosul, Campbell, Preston, Amos. Gary and Walker may be breaking the mold but do they not teach tackling in GB?
This was the first time for me watching the Prime presentation. It seemed to me that they had more camera shots from behind the LOS with a wide field view. I noted that we had guys open, sometime 2 on more than one play. Wide open. Not sure if this would be a plus or minusβ¦.guys open +, AR not seeing or not pulling the trigger-.
+++++Watson had 5 TDs in two games. He is going to be a big star for us. Randall Cobb looked great coming off his injury. Our run D stopped Henry, for the most part. Quay Walker was all over the field and all over Henry, all game long. Rasul got another INT. Nixon returning the ball for us, looked good. The fact that I felt we had a chance to win this game, felt good for a while.
-----Our D, overall, allowed the worst offense in the league, to dominate them. They could not get off the field on 3rd downs. Big pass plays from Tannehill, killed our defensive stands, all game long. The blocked PAT made me vomit, a bit, in my mouth. STs line needs help. Watching the Titan's "trick" plays work almost every time. Not getting the less than a yard yardage on that 4th down when ARod handed the ball off to Aaron Jones. Where was Dillon, on that play? Packer receivers only going to the line to gain, for the first down, instead of getting a little bit more yardage, so getting the 1st down was not questionable. I'm thinking specifically of the Watson catch where he was near the line to gain, but got tackled, so he was short. The next play was the Aaron Jones stuffing with less than a yard to go. Lazard and Watkins with less than stellar play and some of it due to Rodgers poor pass throwing. Officials could not spot the ball so ARod could get into a hurry up offense. Questionable call on the Hooper TD where Ford ended up with the ball, in the end zone. After several replays, it did look like Hooper completed the catch, but I'm betting Dez Bryant would have wanted this officiating crew, on that play of his in GB. MLF throwing the challenge flag on 4th and inches, where the Titans were found to be short of the line to gain, only to get the first down on the next play, where he should have thrown it on the Hooper TD where Ford came up with it. We are 4-7. Not going anywhere, now. A win would have put us on track to salvage our season. Now it's draft pick maneuvering. Will we be drafting for need? If so, we will need a lot of picks. The inevitable "we have to play better" talk coming out of 1265. GO BUCKS!
That was clearly a TD and all TDβs are reviewed.
Savage is just not a good football player. It didnβt just show up this year.
Despite being a good athlete, he doesnβt seem to play with good instincts or control or technique. I know itβs not fair to compare him to C Wood or Butler or Collins, but they all had a nose for the ball, were rarely out of position, and all had a high football IQ which translated to making big plays in big or key moments.
Savage has what, 3-4 picks in his career? How many sacks or TFL? Forced fumbles? And itβs not like heβs Jaire Alexander with limited opportunities.
One of the biggest reasons they are 4-7 is the team is totally upside down in the turnover ratio. The defense has given them literally nothing to work with other than Gary and maybe Alexander from time to time.
Chris Borland is the single best defensive player Iβve ever watched in that despite not being the ideal size he was a game wrecker. Dude made tackles all over the place and made numerous game changing plays whether it was a TFL or forced fumble ot sack or pick to stop or limit drives and flip the momentum.
We need less track stars and more football players like Borland. This is what Ron Wolf and TT did so well in their scouting and acquiring of personnel. Gute seems to want to find the guy that has all the measurables and runs like the wind but what about heart and desire and grit? That stuff matters especially when things go south (like they are this year).

Barry gone is priority #1. To quote the late Denny Green, he's who we thought he was all along.
I know everyone is chomping at the idea of Gute grabbing a top WR with what is likely going to be a top 9 pick. I don't see it. Once again, he will pick another defensive player. A pass rusher alongside Gary or a safety as I think Amos is out of here.
A TE or a WR in the 2nd seems more plausible.
Tonyan and Lazard are likely elsewhere in 2023. Both have been very underwhelmong
Tonyan yes, he gone. Lazard, no, he is just miscast. He is an ideal #3 for this offense. Itβs not his fault he was labeled a 1 in the passing game when he is closer to a TE than a WR.

The problem with this is you usually end up with an overall lack of speed on both sides of the ball. This was very apparent with GB when MM was axed. The best teams right now and in recent memory have all had speed that jumped out at you. If not on both sides of the ball then at least on one of them. Sure, ideally you get "football players" with both instincts, grit and high RAS but that's a really tall order constantly drafting at the bottom of the order. Realistically you need to mix the RAS guys with the thumpers. OR you get a coaching staff that can convert the speedsters into tougher, more disciplined players. Almost the whole team seems to be lacking those last two traits right now.
I get it's a Thurs game and a short week, but nobody really looked like they wanted to be out there last night. No urgency. Coming off a big win with perhaps the season on the line, I expected to see guys flying around. Everyone just looked cold and miserable.
AR keeps saying he likes cold games at Lambeau but the Packers have significantly under performed in recent years in those games.

It really goes back to the off season. When a team allows the highest paid player in the NFL to skip OTA's, skip out of preseason, you set a tone for the whole team going into 2022.
When you go back and look at Rodgers body language and tone in the playoff game last season against SF, it was that same lack of urgency, low energy, and vibe of really not wanting to be outside in cold weather/snow.
Look at Favre, around the same age, when the temps dived and he's outside in snow at the twilight of his career. It's a lot like what we're seeing with AR, going back a few years now.
I think a lot of people are too dismissive of Tannehillβs performance last night. He was incredibly accurate, made good decisions, and played really well overall. The Tennessee run game was pretty much held in check, but Tannehill was really, really good.
Tannehill was good because on 3rd and 3's, Barry had his DB's playing 10-12 yards off the LOS. Time and again, WR's were wide open on those curl routes to the sideline. It was literally as easy a pitch and catch as it gets.

Spot on! The only game where we saw fire, emotion and focus was the McCarthy game. Rodgers and MLF wanted it. Last night it was back to uninspiring. Aaron's pouts mid game really get under my skin
This season is just a complete shit show. I would leave X4 if I wasnβt here as Fedyaβs sponsor.
Although we held their run game in check, they were still getting positive plays out of it to keep them in favorable down & distance situations. We would get a 9 yard run, but then a -2 on a first down to put us behind the sticks.

Not to mention the "miscommunication" that left receivers wide open when we played zone.

I am not convinced they will axe Barry...I have this feeling in the pit of my gut they will justify keeping him saying "well, our window is now, it will take two years to get a new DC and his new system implemented, let's just keep moving forward with what we have."
Hope I am wrong. I fully realized bringing in a new DC means best cause you might compete for a Super Bowl in two years, not next year...but we are at that point.
Spending a top 10 pick on a WR isn't always a good move. I actually support Gurt in that philosophy...they need to spend draft picks on trading for someone better than Watkins, Lazard, Funchess, etc. Not spending the draft capital for Claypool was fucking dumb. Is he an elite WR? No...is he better than what you have? Most definitely.
Tonyan will be back...he will sign for reasonable contract, and he's 12's buddy. He's not George Kittle, or TJ Hock-a-Loogie, but he's a good #2. Not sure Gurt will spend a 1st rounder on a TE...and you don't need to. But you need to go get the TE with the best RAS...there is good evidence those high RAS TE end up doing much better than those who have a poor RAS.
Top 10 pick...Packers need to address OT in a bad way...even if Bakh returns, they need a current RT/future LT in the fold. They need a real fucking slot WR to fill the hole left by the Calamari swing and miss.
But if we have a top 10 pick, and can get a franchise QB, fuck it and pull the trigger.
