Hey James, mn is pondering options at wr. First class facilities with a great coaching staff. Sorry jones is a moron for saying this. Go to your coach.
After going 15-1, I want lots of players with something to prove.

2nd on the team in yards/reception and 2nd on the team in TDs/reception. The guy may not have a lot of receptions, but it's clear he's being productive when he does catch the ball. Sure he was one of the worst in the league at drops/throw and it's something he needs to work on, but I will take 6 drops over 16 games if the guy is catching 1 TD for every 5 receptions and is averaging almost 17 yards/catch.
Go win dancing with the stars and the respect will come pouring in jj.

I didn't see any of it as whining. Check out the percy harvins of the world if you really want an athlete to lose respect for.
I would take James Jones over Harvin anyday. With that said, I never hear any talk from James Jones about TEAM. It is always about HIM.
I think you should go to Packers.com and watch some lockerroom interviews with Jones. I get the impression he's a BIG TIME joker and I think these media outlets take his words out of context. He seems like a pretty down-to-Earth kind of guy, so I would be willing to bet he gave that quote with a big smile on his face and wasn't serious. There have been many times he's been quoted on stuff that seems like he's being selfish and then if you go watch the interview he's saying it sarcastically or because other players are around him messing with him.
It's Bleacher Report. Not exactly a prime example of stellar sports journalism.
Then again, I find The National Enquirer to be more reliable and intellectually stimulating than any sports media.

This isn't whining. It's truth. Simply media sensationalism during a particularly boring time of year

the last paragraph in the article Boris linked:
quote:"When you've got a lot of weapons, you need an unselfish group," Jones said. "I think we've done that and been unselfish because we all know the ultimate goal is to win a Super Bowl. At the end of the day, we win a Super Bowl, everybody will be happy. That's what we're here for."

What is so funny? Harvin can't stay on the field.
With no disrespect to Jones, they aren't in the same class. Pro Bowl receiver, returner and even a guy who can play running back to some extent compared to a third receiver.
EDIT: Games played by Harvin in 3 pro seasons. 16/14/15.

I thought he missed more. Anyway, he is forever tarnished since he has wore purple for three years. I wouldn't want him anyway near the Packers. It makes you think that management must want it that way too since I can't remember any player we have scooped up from the Vikings.
Gilbert Brown
That is one. They took a lot of the Packers players over the years. I guess if you can't beat them, steal their players.

Warms the cockles, doesn't it?

He might as well have played for The Vikings. Same difference.

As a stand-alone stat, this doesn't contribute much to the discussion.
You only have to be on the field for one play for it to be counted as a Game Played.
If you'd take Jones over Harvin any day, fine with me. I'd do the flip.

Harvin would be a third receiver too if he played for the Packers.
Harvin may have started 45 games, but it doesn't mean he played the entire game or played well in 45 games. When things weren't going right or he wasn't getting the ball enough he would get injured. He also dropped 6 passes in 2011, one less than James Jones. He's a dynamic athlete who offers a lot of things to an offense, but he's a Randy Moss type headcase...ironically he and Randy got pretty close during Randy's last stint in Minny. Jones may be our 3rd receiver, but he can block, he can separate deep and he can get yards after the catch...what would Harvin add that we would need that Jones/Cobb/Driver can't do? We have a dynamic return man and we have runningbacks, Harvin isn't worth the headache. Never has been.

I don't count that as having played for the queens.

Witty, pertinent retorts like this are why you are so admired and respected here. Nice job.

Wait a minute! We already have Jones. You can do the flip now.

The Cleveland Browns are not interested in acquiring Green Bay Packers WR James Jones at this point.
The Browns are moving forward with Greg Little and Mohammed Massoquoi as their top 2 WRs. Jones would be an upgrade over Massoquoi, but apparently the Browns feel differently.

Brown was a training camp cut.

I do.
I don't count it either.

Even for you.
It's hilarious the stupidity idiots will spew just to be a contrarian.

OK,nuts, let's play...
How many regular season games did Gilbert Brown play in for the queens in 1993?
Did he start any?
How many tackles did he have in those games?
How many sacks?
Any assists?
How many minutes played?
I anxiously await your enlightening answers.
Why it almost appears as if he never played for them, doesn't it?
Don't care. He was drafted by them, I'm sure received some dough from them and lasted until the final cut. I'm goin' with he played for them and that the Pack actually did scoop up some discarded purple. And you won't change my mind!
I guess it goes to show ya, ya can't fix stupid.
