Tramon had a very bad game, but he's had a very good season.

At best he's had a "good" year. I remember too many times seeing him give up long pass plays or avoiding contact on a ball carrier. The run-and-hide vs. Calvin in DET sticks out the most. He's been better than last year, for sure, but definitely not back to where he was in 2010. Back then, he definitely was not a finesse corner. He was the most physical pure corner on that team. Just rewatch the PO run.

I have an explanation Sally... You're a ****ing pussy.

Yep. Hope his team mates watch that play he ducked out on hitting AP and give him sh*t for it. That was beyond pathetic.

And they were right. Mad

Tramon needs to watch/hear this sveral times a day until the rematch. And feature it in the film room.
I see you're all on it. Was thinking I might start a fill in the blank thread based on "Tramon Williams is ______." Correct answer would have been: "a liability in the run game." not to mention having gotten stupider with that 3rd and goal horse**** wipe out a FG and make it a TD rookie frustration showing my moron card and paving a way out of football mistake.

That was brutal. I repeat that he played like the shoulder is an issue and Minny knew he does not want to tackle. They may have to take him out on obvious running downs. That will be attacked but better chancing it against their WR's (whom the Packers made look the NY Giants) and Ponder (who the Packers made look like Tom Brady)than letting AP run wild.

Tramon was as physical a DB as they had in 2010 so I have to think he's trying to protect that shoulder.

No matter the case, he needs to sell out and leave it all on the field saturday night or there will be nothing left to play for. Hopefully Woodson can make that clear to him. His and our D's only other hope is that the O gets out front early.
Did Tramon have a bad game? Absolutely. But some of the comments in this thread are downright ridiculous. Williams could start at CB on most teams in the league and any GM would tell you that. He's had a pretty good year.

It's the same BS with Shields and Hayward. They didn't play well either but some experts think we should dump them yesterday. That's a whole lot of dumb if you ask me.

The linebackers also sucked yesterday in run defense yet it's all Tramon's fault? Okey dokey.

Maybe they should have benched Rodgers after the first two series when they went 3 and out.
Next possession, Peterson gains 28 with Williams putting forth no effort to make the tackle. That was a huge play. It was second-and-27 and the Vikings finished the drive with a touchdown.

That play was the ball game for all practical purposes. It said it was okay to run in a tight game on second-and-27 or anytime they wanted. Every guy on that defense knew what was going on too. I am sure there will be leaders visiting a certain player.
I hope Tramon has a subscription to the PG. To me if he shows any inclination to play the same way this coming weekend early in the game, whether it is because he is hurt or because he is scared, you go with Woody, House or Bush for this game. The Pack cannot just continue to have that kind of play from that corner. They are better off eliminating that weak link in the run game and take their chances against Ponder with whatever other corner they put in.

Then if they get past the Vikes you put your cover corner back in the game.

....exactly what I was thinking....amazes me the seemingly unwillingness to make guys accountable. This is nothing new with Willimas, he's been ducking tackles all season, everyone must see it, heck the Vikes game planned for this the first time we played, they saw it on film....you know our coaches & players saw it too. By continuing to play this guy when he refuses contact is not a good message to send to the entire team, it is saying that we ignore certain things for certain players. The message should clearly be "Tramon, if you don't want to tackle, you can't play"....

Amen, Goalline.
There were a few plays where it may have beem 3rd & 4, where I fully expected a rush attempt, but it was like the Vikes were doing us a favor by going to pass plays.
They also had a few series in the second half wher they would pass on 1st down, rush on 2nd, and pass again on 3rd and medium situations. I thought it strange at the time, but it worked for them in the end.

....not about the physical condition...it's about the "want to", you can't have a defensive football player who is ducking contact & keep talking about having a "physical football team", you lose credibility if your players see it on film & the whole league knows it. Go to the "Big Oakie" alignment that we used in Capers first year, with 5 LBers.

I put them in the order of who I thought would be the best option if they are available. I am fully aware of the health status of woody and house. If they are not healthy enough to go then you go with Bush. You have to have a guy that can tackle on that corner this week.
I'm not sure if I want to see more of Frank Zombo on the field. Like some others suggested earlier, I'd much rather see the most physical DB the Packers have - Jarrod Bush - on the field instead of Tramon Williams. After the first time Tramon plays like a puss, I immediately make the change. Let Chrissy Ponder burn Bush as opposed to having AP run at will toward Tramon.
