Vikings Week

Our DB's need to make sure they have stickum on their hands this week because they will get even more opportunities for INTs. Should be a fun test for our new DB group though, Vikings WRs are no joke. Their DL is no joke either, they're a step down from the Bears, but not a huge one. Should be another tough trench battle.

I grew up about 20 minutes from Lambeau and I have never been to a game.  It only has taken 53 years but I will be there in person for the first time ever.   So I get to show my hatred of the spermheads with 80,000 of my fellow fans.

Have I mentioned how much I hate the freaking Vikings?  as a kid in the 70's I had tons of relatives from Minnesota and every holiday I got hear about how great they were and how much the Packers sucked.  To get back I would buy the shirt or jersey of the team the lost in the super bowl to and wear that at the family get togethers.

Punch Gladys and Orville and tell them to wake the **** up.  Lambeau isn't Canasta night.  I'm sure the "inherited" ticket pukes have already sold thousands to the spuzheads.

you can expect that to be with about 50,000 of your fellow fans.  you'll see plenty of purple in the stands, and ignoring their existence is my advice.

FUGH it will be hard for me but I will ignore those lutefisk eating inbread jagoffs. 

I am preparing myself for a lot of spermhead fans I just hope it isn't THAT many.  

We might be surprised, I think people ditch their tickets when they don’t feel like the team is very good. A good defense and coming off a big rivalry win may inspire Gladys and Orville to keep their tix.

That's awesome Heckler to be there for your first game.  I hope I don't bring us all bad luck as I will be there too.  Last time I was at a game was last year's season opener vs. the Bears so hopefully we pull out a win like last year. 

My last Packers/Vikes game was 1995 and I believe the Pack whipped them pretty good that day.  Here's to hoping for another game like that one.

I sure hope they keep their tickets especially because this is alumni weekend and I think there is a tribute to Bart as well.

So a game weekend question.  My wife is not from Wisconsin and I want to introduce her to Old Fashions and a good old Wisconsin Supper Club.  Any suggestions in Green Bay for that?  And of course suggestions for bars near  Lambeau?  The closer to a Wisconsin corner tavern the better.

These home games will be a great time for the offense to get into a better rhythm. Having the first real bullets flying in Chicago vs that defense was a tough first act. 

I went to the Pack/Viks game last year in GB and I’d say there were a good 15K Queens fans there.  Maybe more.   Had great seats but had many of them in my area.   Very annoying and obnoxious.  Just such front running bastards that can’t handle their liquor.  

Green Bay has 10 days to prep for this game. They are also playing at home. 

Yes, it's a good defense in the Vikings, but there should be NO reason Aaron Rodgers and Co. shouldn't look MARKEDLY better then last night,

UGH.  Its a shame to me that people wait decades to get season tickets only to  sell them to spermhead fans.  

Old fashions are the bomb!

Heckler, not sure what your budget is, but the Union Hotel in De Pere is great for that historic hotel and "supper club" feel. The food and service is outstanding.....but kind of pricey. The restaurant is one of my favorites.  

You and your wife will be writing to say thank you if you go !!!

PACKDOG,  well this trip is one that we are willing to pay a little extra for since it is her first trip to Wisconsin and my first Packers game.  So I may give that one a shot and thanks for the recommendation.

I agree with the Union Hotel.

The Vikings are going to coming into Lambeau pissed off after getting beat at home by the Falcons.  They're going to leave Lambeau deflated after starting the season off at 0-2.

We get but a fleeting amount of time on this earth, and Jaymo decides to spend it trolling an opposing team, getting banned from that opposing team's site, then threadshitting his own team's site and continuing to troll people that will never even see it. 

I'm legitimately sad for Jaymo and how little he must have in his life.

Summer clubs are generally a very unique dining experience and follow a specific process.  A few things I can think of: 

1) they tend to have limited hours or times they are open

2) you have to enter through a bar area and register.  That can take time. 

3) they are usually in rural towns or off the beaten path 

4) they are considered fine dining establishments but almost (universally) feature steaks, fish, and prime rib.  A legit supper club always has a relish or cracker or vegetable tray on table or booth 

5) people tend to be loyal to a specific place and it can cross generations 

I’m sure there are other things I’m missing 

Can I eat there in spring, fall and winter?

Yes you can.  Although, they may not serve breakfast or lunch or be open the entire week.  

There may be places that are open seasonally (couple of places I can think of in NW Wisconsin) but most are open year around.

Lazy Susan's abound.  Olives, pickles, crackers, butter, bread sticks and peppers to be enjoyed with your Manhattan or Old Fashioned.  

Manhattan.  Grown man drink.  Have a couple and you will tip over.  

Cam Newton would not be at a supper club. Not many vegan options on the menu.
