@ByRyanWood:#Packers coach Matt LaFleur says Aaron Jones' injury won't be long term. "We'll monitor it on a daily basis and see how fast he can heal up."

Matt LaFleur says #Packers are still evaluating Rashan Gary. Not many details on his status with elbow injury.

LaFleur says Whitney Mercilus' injury is "unfortunate" and the assumption is it's long term: "That's a tough one. I feel bad for him."

@BillHuberSI:  Scouting department is looking at options at OLB, LaFleur says. Down to Preston Smith, a banged-up Gary and Jonathan Garvin. LaFleur doesn't have a timeline on Mercilus but it's obviously significant.

This looks like a tough spot for the Packers.  At some point, the injury issue is going to catch up with this team.  However, my pessimistic thoughts on the severity of the injuries from last week was wrong.  Maybe my pessimistic view of this game will be wrong too.

The Vikings have the same issues. Welcome to this time of the year.

This was as of last Friday:

The Vikings’ defense can’t get get a lucky break in that regard. Minnesota DT Michael Pierce and LB Anthony Barr are both out for the Sunday game against the Chargers.

Not only that, but CB Bashaud Breeland is questionable for Week 10. With Patrick Peterson on IR for at least one more game, Breeland’s health is of major concern.

Pierce will miss his fifth consecutive game for the team. Minnesota’s best run-stopping nose tackle has not been able to stay on the field due to an elbow injury. Barr, who has played in the last two games, will miss time due to a knee injury.

Pierce is their version of Kenny Clark. He has now been placed on IR and will miss the Packer game. Barr does not sound promising either for this week.

And Danielle Hunter, their best pass rusher? He tore his pec and is out for the season. A really good pass rusher who just cannot stay healthy.

Agreed on the injuries on D.  You can get buy with duct tape and rubber bands for only so long before depth starts to collapse.

At some point this offense is going to have to start scoring more points again.  They've scored 25 or less since  WK05 vs CIN.  That will be enough to beat most teams with the way our D is playing but as DocB said and others already know, at some point some offense is going to put up points on our D and our O will need to respond.

Some of the issues of course were AR missing playing time/practice along with OL shuffling.  But some issues we've seen all season so far.  Injuries or not they need to get the offense into a higher gear by Dec. if they want to be ready for the post season.

Hoping that by being able to move Jenkins back to guard will help solidify the interior of our o-line, which IMHO, is the major factor in the offense not being what it was last season.

Agree.   The limiting factor for the offense has been C and RG.   Too much pass rush coming straight through and the run blocking has been avg at best this year.

Newman, had high hopes for him, sucks.    Makes a ton of mental errors, gets beat physically and has piss for football awareness.    How many screen plays do we have to watch where he literally blocks nobody.

"piss for football awareness"....love that! Heard Coach K tell a story about Coach Pete Newell, who won an NCAA & Olympic championship ....watched a couple of Duke's practices and when K asked him what he thought of some of the players, Coach Newell replied " that #__ isn't a friend of the game is he?" ...K's interpretation "What Coach Newell was nicely saying is that _____   _____ is a dumb shit"

Zimmer's defense has always given Rodgers trouble, as AR even admits. I expect this to be Minnesota's last-gasp game: they need to win to stay relevant in the race. Therefore, they will play all-in and that could spell trouble for GB. I'm hoping this is the week Rodgers gets past the fact it's Zimmer and torches them, but I fully expect it to be another down-to-the-wire nail-biter.

L to R :

Bakh, Jenkins, Myers, Taylor, Turner.  That will be a solid OL once these guys get healthy.

I still have high hopes for Runyan as well. He played well in spots, I really wonder if he'd be any worse then Newman.

As for Newman, I wouldnt rule him out yet. He's getting a lot of bull rushes and getting rolled over. An entire off season in the weight room could make a big difference in 2022

You mixed up the "Prince of Darkness" with Patrick Taylor!
