Green Bay — The following is a summary of coach Mike McCarthy's press conference on Friday:

(On Eddie Lacy's health) I think Eddie has gone through the week. Like any running back this time of year, they’re always beat up a little bit. We were just smart with him yesterday. He’ll be ready to go.

(On James Starks’ fumbles) It’s a long year. You have games where things don’t go very well, but James will line up and play the way he normally does. We will run both Eddie and James.

(On his philosophy with fumbles) I think it’s clear what our philosophy is. Guys are pulled from the game immediately. But there’s other factors that go into it. … We all need to hold onto the football. We haven’t done a very good job of that.

(On David Bakhtiari) He hasn’t missed a start going all the way up to Arizona. He’s very intelligent, very detailed young player. I’m going to give him every chance to play in this game. He will probably do some work tomorrow, but for sure Sunday. With it being a night game, we’ll have some workouts Sunday.

(On Sam Shields and B.J. Raji) We’re talking about the protocol. You’re either in it or you’re out of it. I don’t really try to project when a player is still in the protocol. They’re both going through different phases of it.

(On winning the fifth straight division title) I think you have to be practical. We make it clear what the goal is here — to win a world championship. … But this is a level of success that is measurable. It takes a lot of hard work to get to where we are today. … The division championship is important, but getting in the playoffs is the most important because it puts you in position to get to the ultimate goal. If you ever wanted a playoff-type game to prepare us for the playoffs, we’re going to play one on Sunday night.

(On sustained success not being appreciated) Can’t control it. Frankly, not totally in tune with it. I don’t spend a whole lot of time. But I think that’s the reality of being successful. The expectations here are high. We set them and we’re clearly committed to them. I can’t really get into the mood outside the building.

(On bouncing back this week) We talked about this Monday and again Wednesday. I guess they’re continuing to bounce. They bounced back Monday when I was first asked the question.

(On James Jones) I think that’s a great question and I think you have to give James a ton of credit. But I think it’s a little unfair for me to answer because I know James. … Watching the tape, it was James. He looked the same as I remembered him. He came back here and picked up right where he left off. What are your expectations versus my expectations?

(On James Jones getting cut by Giants) I was part of a conversation on the sideline in Pittsburgh after Jordy got hurt and James’ name came up.

@Michael_Cohen13: Justin Perillo and Jayrone Elliott have been ruled out for Sunday's game. Bakhtiari, Daniels, Neal, Raji and Shields are questionable.

As for the Queens:

Eden Prairie, Minn. – With the NFC North division title on the line, the Minnesota Vikings will close the 2015 regular season at Lambeau Field on Sunday Night Football with seven of eight players on the injury report listed as probable participants.

DT Linval Joseph (foot) was the only Viking not listed as probable for Sunday night’s game. He did not participate in practice in any day this week and is listed as doubtful for Sunday.

DT Sharrif Floyd (knee) was the only player with a probable designation that did not practice on Friday. S Harrison Smith (hamstring), who recently returned from injury in last Sunday night’s victory over the New York Giants, was a full participant in practice on Friday after being limited on Wednesday and Thursday. RB Adrian Peterson (ankle/shoulder) and DE Everson Griffen (shoulder) returned to practice on Friday after both missed practice Thursday.

T Matt Kalil (lower leg), who left last Sunday’s game and missed the first snap of his NFL career, is another Viking listed as probable after returning to full participation on Thursday and Friday. S Anthony Harris (hip) and WR Adam Thielen (low back) are also both probable after practicing in full participation all week.

Cripes, he'd have to be pretty thin-skinned to get in a feud with Wilde. Jason's not exactly Mr. Grinder with questions. How would McCarthy fare in even an average media market when he gets uppity with the softballs in Green Bay.

last regular season game at Lambeau ... always do it with a wine flask full of white russians, keeps those around me happy and warm.
I want a 5th NFC North title - is that too much to ask?  CMOUN!

MM has said for 10 years that if a player is medically cleared, he will play him. Shields has not passed the final concussion test (sounds like he only has one final hurdle), no one is "saving him", Shields has not been medically cleared.

Teams, Coaches & injury reports are 100% truthful, 100% of the time.

Hard to believe that the Cards were not affected by the throng of Packer fans last week.

Concussions are different. If a player has a bad ankle, the coach can see the limitations and decide that another week of rest will make him be able to perform better. After initial symptoms of a concussion pass, the player would appear normal in every way, no deteriation of athletic skills would be obvious to the coach. Purposely "resting him" another week would not appear to the coach to make the player any physically more able to play at a higher level. The concussion protocol is in place to help minimize risk to the player in the future, not to determine whether his performance on the field would be diminished.....big difference.

April 6 2004. Crossing the Fox River bridge and seeing the greatest stadium ever constructed for the first time. An NFL kid that grew up in Northern California loving the aura and history of Lambeau Field. And dammit there it was.

Walked the parking lot for 20 minutes thinking of the people and players that were there. Couldn't stop looking at the stadium.  The history of the place overwhelms you if you understand NFL history.

This franchise has given so much to its fans and the NFL.

Yeah. I love The Green Bay Packers.

I was there. They weren't. Pack didn't do enough to get the crowd into it at all. Sad to see after all the "Go Pack Go" before the game.

Fans can't bring the team to win.....the team brings the fans to win, and this team......not doing it.  JMHO.  What's the line up for movies on lifetime look like tomorrow???  Queens win tomorrow night.....and it's over for my boyfriend and his teammates until next year. .

We've been good, historically.

Honestly though, he's right about the playoff-atmosphere being a useful experience. Not expecting much, but I hope young guys (Randall, Rollins, Pennel, Abby, Adams) are up to it.

Let's hope that our vets can use their extensive playoff experience to keep focused and on the same page.   And that they can help the rooks from letting the game get too big for them.   We have looked pretty poor lately, but the Vikings are the ones who could be in over their heads in this one.  Let's face it, this is may not be a playoff game, but it effects the seeding enough that it's the next biggest thing.  Go Pack, Go!
