Giving up too man big plays...too reminiscent of the Domfense.

Not working the screen passes more after 1Q. Seemed like it was run, or wait for the big route deep to open up and AR just holding onto the ball forever.

Any win over the Prpl Pssies es muy bueno

O-fense looked better than last week

Jamaal looked better this week in this scheme

Opie grew a pube

The Packers are 2-0 in the division.

They ran the ball effectively against a good team.

Most importantly, the Vikings used 29 million of cap room for Kirk Cousins this year and are on the hook for 31 million next year no matter what.

The Bears used a huge amount of draft capital on Trubisky.

April 27, 2017: Traded by 49ers as 2017 1st round pick (2nd overall) to Bears for 2017 1st round pick (3rd overall, Solomon Thomas), 2017 3rd round pick (67th overall subsequently traded, Alvin Kamara), 2017 4th round pick (111th overall subsequently traded, Tedric Thompson) and 2018 3rd round pick (70th overall, Fred Warner)

Imagine how different things would be if the Bears and Vikings had used that many resources and ended up with above average QBs.

I love Aaron Jones catching the ball out of the backfield.  Give that guy a couple steps to build up steam and go crazy.

Play of the game was AR's pitch to Adams in the 4th quarter.  Under pressure, tough catch through traffic.  Thing of beauty.

Kevin King can bask in not being TJ Watt for one day.

Something to definitely clean up. Wondered why he didn't kick the FG there.

Watching Rodgers' press conference and 12 admits it was all on him.  He thought the ref had placed the ball in a first down position, 12 didn't wait for it to be called or signaled a 1st but hurried the team to the line and ran a play.

HUGE mistake. Could have cost the team a W.

I didn't see anyone ask MLF if he'd have gone for a FG there otherwise but obviously he was sleepwalking a bit there as well.

Plus

  • Savage has all pro written all over him.  He gets a pass on the Cook TD because it’s Cook running full speed with 20 yards of open field.
  • AR getting the ball out in rhythm for most of 1st half.
  • Commitment to running Jones mixed in with aggressive and creative calls.
  • Overall D performance.

Negs

  • Alexander alligator arms on Diggs TD and dropped pick.   Kudos for being in position to make a play, but you still gotta make the play kid.
  • Gmo.  The fumble and then on a 3rd and short he could have dived for a first but went into contact instead.

Aaron said it was his fault, Matt blamed himself. So much for the so called dis function.

++ First 16 minutes: Tempo to get 21 pts right off the bat that kept the D on its heels; Rodgers taking what was given; OL getting push for Jones and Williams

+ Defense did just enough to win and outside one big run by Cook (no slouch) held him to less than 4 per carry; young DBs gave Diggs and Thielen fits

— Tempo after the first 16 minutes. Too slow and allowed the D to diagnose the play. Get the play in quicker, get the call off sooner, snap the ball faster.

— Rodgers holding the ball too long. Needed another receiver to step up besides Adams.

++++++++ F*** the Vikings. 2-0 is a beautiful place to be!!

(and listening to their fan line is a whinefest!!)

Diggs is a great player no doubt, but that fukker gets more lucky breaks than any NFL player I’ve ever seen. Beyond the Saints DB just falling down in front of him, Alexander should have had that INT and it just weirdly went right through his hands into Diggs arms, he didn’t battle Jaire for it, it just dropped in his arms like a loaf of bread. Bullshit lucky break for him. Whatever, fukk him.

I still cut the offense some slack again because the Vikings D is really good. The Packers O threw some things at them they didn’t expect early, but they settled down. Those guys play hard, play sound, and give zero ground. I don’t expect them to give up >21 that often this year (if they’re healthy), so I will take a 21 point output.

D played well for how much they were on the field. 19 points in 8 quarters, couldn’t ask for a better start to the season.

One of the more frustrating things was even after the offense had stalled, Rodgers made some unreal throws. The one to Adams late and the one MVS had knocked away were absolutely sick.

That was encouraging to see. Those throws didn't pan out, but it's gambling to win. That little bit of off balance went in GB favor on the last drive. The Aaron Jones factor in both run and pass is most effective when the defense has to play each level of the field.

diggs is why i hate them so bad.  just a prickly arsnige.

Diggs.  Just horrible.  Cost his team any chance they had.  Unreal.

Take your helmet off, dumfukk.  Take your team out of any chance of a 2 point conversion.  Fuk yourself up your own stupid fuking ass you twit.

I'll leave the negatives alone.  But 23 is a generational talent @ CB.  I really believe that.  He had NO business even being remotely close to the ball in the photo above.  He may end up being an all timer,  Lots of anti 23 comments today. He got in Diggs' head so bad today.  That will never come up in a box score.

As I said in the game thread, after that TD Wayne and Larry went down to John Kuhn on the sideline, who said that pass was on Kevin King's side of the field and Alexander ran all the way over to try to break it up since Diggs just went right by King.

(I didn't have the game on TV, so can't confirm whether that's the way the play really played out.)

2-0 against the Bares on the road and tough Vike team at home.  That is HUGE.

There are no minuses win you start 2-0 against the Bares and the Vikes.

Observations:

Alexander is a gonna be a stud.  Right now he's a young stud and has some things to clean up.  He will get there, and when he does, he just might be a HOF cornerback.  No joke.

The defense held a very good team to 16 points.  That is excellent.

Aaron Jones.  I like him.

Minimal injuries.

**** Minnesota.

+++

Me somehow being the voice of reason on the game thread.  Damn has the world turned upside down?

The W.  The ****ing win!  Winning ugly is better than losing good.  If you feel differently then you are probably a Vikings fan lol.

Jones and the running game cranking it up.   Against a really good D.

The Viks fans eating a spicy bag of dicks.  Hope you sit and spin on this one ****os.

Yes I know the offense left plays on the field.  But let’s bitch and moan about it in week 10 if they still struggle

The G Mo turnover was ugly.  MLF not taking the 3pts was worse.

Good, the win of course. And a slightly better offense. The defense kept plugging away on run defense and almost every pass was contested. The run game looked good.

Not, our team came up short on some contested passes. Both offense and defense could have held on to the pass better. Greene’s injury may hurt the hybrid MLB/Safety position. Savage in a walking boot after the game he got kicked in the shin.

Forgot a neg...

Trevor Davis punt returns.

  • Fails to call fair catch with guy right in his face.  Lucky to hang on to it.
  • Calls for a fair catch and then go on to block.
  • Catch the punt with nobody on the screen, then fall down while dancing, twice.

Even his fair catches have become crapshoots. He's a liability back there.
