Us packer fans are spoiled.  This might not be our year, but I guarantee you they will compete again next year.  That is all you can ask for as a fan.

One thing I hope they do is fire Capers.  The defense hasn't been that bad, but it hasn't been that good either.  They just need a change of perspective on that side of the ball.

Regarding the offense, getting Jordy back next year will help tremendously.  Everyone on offense still better look in the mirror.  Something just isn't right and everyone on offense can be blamed in one way or another.

Basically, though I will still enjoy the Packers, it is clear that we will continue to waste great talent. I don't mean to be too nostalgic here but 1 SB for the Favre years? cmon

And now this is just another wasted year as far as Supper Bowl. Last year looked good but couldn't finish the big games and now this year the changes that were supposed to launch us over the top are actually having the opposite effect.  So we can hope they turn it around but it will be a different team next year and they may have Jordy back and they may have Barrington back and they may have the major players back but with Clements calling plays we might as well expect another average season losing games we should win. We're classic underperformers lately. Proof is in the Supper Bowl.

A lot of players we were all looking to take that next step seem to be regressing.

Yeah, they looked great against MIN. Great. That kind of points to this being a really talented team. How do they all just disappear the following week? To me, that seems like a coaching problem.

a - you missed the point. the link was to a thread when things looked great. now injuries have depleted the NFL ready players and the depth is not there yet. the team is under-performing because the players aren't winning 1-on-1's consistently and the coaches aren't adjusting to the players strengths.

b - as to what i want? I want to be awoken with a hummer every day. i also want the offense to get their mojo back, players and coaches.

I'm guessing I'm not getting any of what I want.

WHATEVER. My opinion was my own. You obviously don't like it.

Talk about inane. You said, "As far as draft/develop, that's been going pretty well too."

Are you ****ing serious? How is that going well? Who is developing?

This isn't just personnel. This problem is across the board. How our staff decided it was better to have Goodson fill in when Randall went down is ridiculous. Goodson is a ST player and no more. Rollins came in only after Goodson blew coverage. Again. And that decision cost us dearly. Our coaching staff is making some very bad calls, and their players are showing up unprepared far too often. Putting Goodson in has to be on Capers. Who else would have made that call?

I'll just hold out hope that they can get their **** together and make a run for it all. Pretty improbable judging from this **** show we've seen on and off for a month and a half...

A win in DET will prove to be bigger than anything right now. They are just going to have to piece it together, one week at a time, and maybe surprise some along the way.

Dude, you really don't need to follow your "whatever's" with multi-paragraph whines.

I'm not worried. The receivers have been nicked up and haven't played so well--especially Adams--our line has been a trifle over-rated for years and this year it is showing...and Rodgers is not completely superman.

The defense has been good--just not the turnovers you'd like--that is gonna regress back to the mean.

We lost in Denver--even the world champs lost in Denver to a rookie QB...otherwise the games were toss ups.

Things are still excellent in Green Bay...thanks McCarthy, thanks Thompson, thanks Rodgers, thanks Obama.

I can't believe the amount of bed wetting going on in this forum.

If you want to win the SB every year and have every player develop and become an All Pro, I suggest you watch robots or clone wars, or something.

The facts are indisputable, there are 2 teams that have won their division and made the playoffs the last 5 years.  One of those teams is the Packers, and to bitch and moan about how that's not good enough, I get it, but I believe your in the minority.

Of course we all want to win every week, but that's not realistic.  TT is by far one of the best GM's in the game, and people on here question, if he's doing enough.  It's crazy, a bunch of spoiled brats.  I guarantee that if TT or MM were on the street there would be 28-30 teams that would scoop them up in a heartbeat.

I'm afraid to read anything else on here, it looks like the crazies are running the asylum.

I couldn't even begin to imagine what a packers forum would have looked like during the 80s.   We have been so fn spoiled over the last 2.5 decades.

Here's some likely threads.

1. Is Rich Campbell the answer?

2. Can Brent Fullwood be the next superstar RB (with his Wonderlic score of 4)

3. What kind of hot dog did Ezra Johnson eat?

4. Ken Stills is not really a dirty player.

5. Charles Johnson body slamming Jim McMahon - did you approve?

6. James Lofton and Eddie Lee Ivery's night life at the Top Shelf and in Milwaukee.

7. Mossy Cade (enough said)

8. Tony Mandarich is going to be a superstar OT for 12 years. We didn't need Aikman, Barry Sanders, Deion Sanders, or Derrick Thomas in the top 5 - we got the best player in the draft at #2.

Packer fans are a spoiled bunch and I think most get that. But I think the frustration with some is that we have our 2nd HOF in a row and have 2 SB's to show for it. Favre should have gotten at least 2. Rodgers should get 3 before he calls it a career.

The window is there. But it won't be open forever. And this so far is looking like a wasted season with him in the prime of his career. I get where the frustration on that comes from.

I get that PB, but the season's not over, and we are solidly in a playoff spot.  Are we playing well, no, but, you never know what happens in the playoffs, as we saw last year.  IMO, as Packer fans we should hope that we are the dance every year, which is exactly what has been happening.  That's all you can ask for, IMO.  If it wasn't for 1,000 things to go right in the span of 2 min. last year in the NFCCG, we are in another SB.

Do you believe Tom Brady is still in his prime?  If so, then we have another 8-10 years of AR in his prime.  If not, there is no reason to think that AR can't perform like Tom Brady not in his prime till he is 38-40.  Nothing is guaranteed, except for today, but let's keep things in perspective.

This talk of TT and MM not making changes or being the right people for the job is crazy.

Part of that being spoiled is thinking championships are entitled to us as fans (not picking on pb).  They're hard to win and the teams that win multiple with the same QB aren't just winning because of the QB.  "Only winning 2 SB with 20 yrs of HOF QB play" is just a talking point people like to use against GB fans.  Ask those fans why their QB always sucks and if they'd like to trade places.

I don't have any expectations for this team this year. What was frustrating is how complete the collapse was.  I could see them getting back on track in the last couple games but probably not enough.  If the Seattle loss and the collapse of this year isn't enough for some serious reevaluating I'll be right there suggesting MM needs to hit the bricks but I don't see that happening.  Position coaches need a serious red ass along with the slacking players and I think TT will address skill positions.  If Adams is dicking around TT will find his replacement.  You can't argue with most his WR picks.

For all the crap MM deserves for handing over the O to Clements, he also deserves praise for turning around the D and special teams.

I'm not a stats guy so I can't tell you how this team compares to last year's in terms of numbners, but my perception is that both units are drastically improved.   MM can coach, but he can't hire staff to save his ass.

Given that the improvements have cost us so much regression on offense, I'd still like to see Capers replaced and MM return to his strong side and coordinate the offense again.

It would have been much friendlier and light hearted because there wouldn't have been the expectations this organization has created. It isn't unreasonable for fans to at least expect another trip to the bowl with the talent they have cultivated.

It would be just as bad because those teams in the 80's would spike just enough at some point in the season to make a kid like me think they had a shot at the division or a wc spot, only to choke away whatever chance they had.  Then again, I don't think folk back then were as entitled and "everybody should win" as they are today.  It was easier to keep them off my lawn.

I hate to sound like that guy but to me the memories of the 70's and 80's are still with me as a fan.  If you would have told me in about 1983 that the Packers would be in a Super Bowl much less winning one I would have laughed at you.  We have been beyond spoiled for a LONG LONG time.  And I appreciate every moment of it.

The Packers cannot win every game and cannot win the super Bowl every year but I do trust that this organization is in good hands.  But, I will say that there are tweaks that can be done to make them better.  A TE to stretch the field would help this offense tremendously and a more physical team on defense.

maybe I'm getting old and seen too many games, maybe I'm lazy...  I just watch them.  I enjoy them when they play well, and I want them to play well.  I kinda laugh at them when they play like ****.  It really doesn't affect my life one bit anymore.  I've given up trying to figure out what's wrong with a group of millionaires when they collectively, coaching to players, perform like ****.  sure, it's always good to be king and it brightens the day when they're dominant.  but it ain't no big deal when they suck anymore - I've got better things to do.

I think the D has improved over last year's average though they were the strength of the team late in the season in in the playoffs.  MM said D would improve so it has (vs. overall last year) but hasn't (were playing better at end of year).  Unless he was behind last year's late jump.  This D would be showing even stronger if the O had any success that resembled previous years.
