By some accounts it seems Baalke staged a coup and got Scot McGloughlin out of there. He looked like a genius because he had a fantastic roster built with guys that had that hard nosed, in your face attitude that Mike Singletary wanted. Obviously Singletary was a terrible HC, but he brought the right guys in. Baalke did nothing but bring in over the hill vets and let good young talent walk away. He brought in a good HC in Harbaugh, but he didn't take the time to figure out if he could actually work with Harbaugh. If you ask me Baalke is getting what he deserves. I was really hoping GB could add Scot McGloughin to the front office, but Seattle snatched him up and now Washington has him.

And the best is yet to come I think.  Several years of Rodgers to Jordy & Co.  Eddie is just getting started, OL will be together thru 2016,  and the D is filled with young talent.

Interesting as I had always credited Baalke for building that roster.  Baalke had attained lots of picks but overplayed drafting strong NFL prospects that had had major college injuries (see Marcus Lattimore).  This approach has not yielded much.  He has really failed on the offensive side of the ball, especially WR.  I hate the Niners but liked Baalke (being a Rosendale, WI product) but it appears he isn't quite what I thought he was as a GM.  Either way, I am reveling in the Niner demise.  Don't feel sorry for these fans though, they have a mini Dynasty in the SF Giants and may be building one in the Golden State Warriors as well.

Baalke genius.

@AdamSchefter: Cleveland is trading a 7th-round pick in 2017 to San Francisco for three-time Pro Bowl punter Andy Lee, league sources told ESPN.

Wow, I almost can't believe how much the 49ers have lost in terms of personnel.  On paper, that looks like a last place team in a very strong NFC West.

My only fear when the Pack plays them is that the Pack will be playing them on the road after a Monday Night game.  The Pack lost to the Bills in the same scenario in 2014.  The 49er game is officially a "trap game".

The loss vs. BUF was no trap.  They play the same style of D that has consistently slowed our O.  Real strong DL with a secondary that can cover trips or 4wide.  I don't think SF has either anymore.

A team that drafted one from Clemson.

In the grand scheme of Baalke's f-ups...this isn't even on the honorable mention...unless their rookies goes BJ Sander on them.

1 blunder from Baalke is drafting Anthony Davis over Earl Thomas.

Hopefully, TT did the right thing by taking the 2 DB's this season. I believe he did.

Must've visited x4.

49ers' HC Jim Tomsula made his feelings on social media very clear today: "I don’t like it at all. I don’t know anything about it. I don’t do it. I don’t use it. I really don’t want everybody to know where I’m at all the time and what I’m eating. I don’t get it, personally. Talking purely personally. It just so happens every time I do hear about it, it’s not in a good way. So that’s where I’m at. The guys know that and they laugh and make fun that I’m in the dark ages. It’s just not my thing. Now I understand it’s other people’s things and that’s fine. But if that’s going to be apart and it is part of society, then we’ve got to figure out how to manage it personally. So yes, we are going to have some more meetings on that through our player engagement.”

Niners nearly averaging one a week these days.

@adbrandt: Another 49er considering a "preemptive retirement."

@Eric_Branch: #49ers Eric Reid says he’s considered leaving NFL because of concussions. http://t.co/ZDpJb276xo

Seriously, isn't it amazing just how quickly a franchise can have the wheels come off?

I personally think the Niners executive/management have been a clusterf**k since the days of Eddie DeBartolo ended. They somehow managed to essentially catch lightning in a bottle recently, but it appears to be the very definition of flash-in-a-pan.

And now they are headed for a train wreck of epic proportions.

Tomsula seems like another Mike Singletary. Probably a good position coach who has that hard nosed, all business attitude that the front office thinks the players will respect. The problem is that was Singletary's only redeeming quality and players quickly figured out that he simply couldn't handle being a HC. It's more than being a good football mind or a inspirational guy, players respect coaches who get them wins and make them money. Tomsula is probably a guy players respect because he's a good position coach and gets them fired up, but the second things look bleak or they are consistently losing then he's going to lose the team and be done as a HC.
