I’d still like to know if some of the defensive talent that recently departed was based on finances. The belief they weren’t worth keeping based on performance. Or if they simply wanted to go elsewhere. And if they wanted to go elsewhere then why?

I'd go for it if I had the Saints offense, but they'll punt. This is basically the same decision Mike sherman had 15 years ago in the Eagles playoff game. All coaches punt because they won't get criticized for doing it.
