So how far do they fall in the polls?? For sure out of the top 25 eh??
This team canβt get out of the way of their own success. Similar to when they beat OSU in 2003 only to lose to Northwestern the following week.

Bucky deserved to lose.
Forgot the disastrous and ugly red zone possession.
I would drop them out of the top 25.
Minnesota leading the west lmfao

Who cares. Playing in mid January is the only thing that matters in today's college football.
My guess is they'll stay in the top 25. Whether they deserve it after that one is another story....
Losers
Until they have a top quarterback on the field, this will always happen. They're a one trick pony. Absolutely pathetic.
They will not be out of the top 25, depending on the rest of this weekends games I'd say mid teens.
PC has a job to do this week.
Don't they do this every time they build hype and go on an o-fer run. Crap the bed vs some shitty team. Seems to never fail.
Worst part was listening to Millen cream himself on every IL play in the 4th.
Guys have to execute. Taylor canβt be fumbling and Coan canβt make lazy throws. Those two plays killed them.
I shudder to think how the Buckeyes will gameplan this team. Let me see, make Jack Coan beat you? Yep pretty much.

Actually the worst part was the way the O line blocked and the way the D tackled in the 4th quarter.
Illinois was a 30.5 underdog against Wisconsin according to Caesars Sportsbook.

That is the...
- Largest upset so far this season
- 2nd largest upset in a Big Ten game over the last 40 seasons (Northwestern defeated Minnesota in 1982 as 32-point underdogs in that game)
Their season is done. They should definitely be out of the top-25.
If I was Ohio State I would be pissed, because they were looking for a βquality winβ against a top 10 team.
tOSU are in the Top 4 already, and Alabama and LSU have to play each other. So tOSU just have to keep winning.
The Badgers are at their best when they arenβt expected to win or play well. Flip the script? Not so much.
Clearly they shit the bed (again) today. We wonder why there are UW skeptics? Exhibit fucking A today against a bad Illinois team.
Shades of Cincinnati and UNLV and Northwestern.
I wasnβt too far off saying this was the biggest upset in BT football history. Save for the Goophers they win the prize.
O$U is probably pissed now and will beat them by 40
They do this every year it seems. Get into the top 10 or 15 and then totally crap the bed. Shameful.
UW teams love to fart away great seasons.
This is what happens when you are afraid to put your best shit on film for next weekβs opponent. Hyper conservative, tried to just out muscle and their D was up to the task.
And still it took two critical turnovers by the two most important offensive players to blow the game. Until they have a playmaker at QB this shit is going to happen forever. Really shouldnβt be shocked that Coan wasnβt up to the task today.
Next week has the makings of getting really ugly
Coan wants to throw lazy passes against those DBs? Oh joy.
The Buckeyes are like what? Who? He might be better than Hornibrook but thatβs not saying much.
Realizing there were other contributions, Wisconsin's ground game has not been dominant for three straight games. If one skips the lesser programs (USF, Central Michigan, Kent State), it seems to me Michigan is the aberration.
This is not a dominant running team.
Itβs not a dominant running game because teams are scheming to make Wisconsin beat them with the pass. Key on Taylor and the running game. Not a difficult formula. Coan isnβt dynamic enough as a QB to keep teams honest. In crunch time heβs been dreadful. The pick today was a back breaking play.
Letβs hope like hell Mertz doesnβt get disgruntled and transfer.
Way to shit on a beautiful day! Very disappointing!
Play like this and OSU will pitch a shutout and it won't be pretty.
I think the lack of energy and killer instinct from Bucky was palatable from the stands. The last time they played here is was almost the same story except Bucky just held them off. The second and third goalline plays were pathetic. It was almost as if they were trying to be too clever just going with the fullback. As far as Coan goes, I didn't think that he had too bad of a day considering the lack of general success of the running game. That last pass was way underthrown and the db made a great catch on it. On the fumble Taylor was struggling for that extra yardage after he was already stopped and instead of just going down he gets sideways and there goes the ball.
It seemed like there was a general lack of energy from the team. Did they believe the hype? Looking ahead? They had almost 3x the time of possession and tons more yardage, but that didn't matter with the TOs late. Reminded me of some vintage Favre pre MVP era games. Tons or yards. Bad TOs and lose the game.
Sorry I canβt agree
Coan had to make the right play. It was totally under thrown. Hell airmail the pass or take a goddamn sack and they punt and maybe hold them off. Just horrific decision making and situational awareness in that spot giving them the ball at midfield.
Just like Taylor you cannot turn it over it in that situation.
On the plus side, Leonhard is much less likely to get poached.

Yep they sure do Everytime they get hype they crap the bed. Bucky won't fall out of the top 25 I think they will fall to about 18 or 19. I do love Bucky but damn they make it challenging to root for them sometimes
2nd and goal at the 1.
two fullback dives in a row followed by a FG.
thats on Chryst. Just awful
They should have passed like the Packers.

Itβs likely the Badgers will lose another 2-3 games. OSU and at least one or two to Iowa, Minn., and Nebraska.
If Coan goes 9-3 will Chryst bench him for Mertz next year?

A play action pass might have worked well. They were selling out to stop the run.
Although the INT was the dagger the team was not sharp for much of the game. Not many holes to run thru, at times Coan was off, the D missed tackles and coaching/adjusting was off. The stats and TOP were a bit misleading.
Thru their ineptness they let Illinois hang around and they paid for it.

Only if he feels Mertz gives them the best chance to win.
If he doesn't play Mertz next year, he should be fired immediately.
I have no dog in this fight as I'm neither a UW fan or hater. As a college football fan in general, watching UW through the years is boring football to me. They always seem to have a good, but not great team. The offensive line/running backs are very good, as is the defense seemingly every year. The passing game is ho-hum at the same time normally... UW just seems to do what they do and never quite get over the hump to contend for a national championship. That has to be frustrating as hell for UW fans.
If your coach doesn't play that big time QB recruit next season he should be fired. That kid needs to play... and probably should be playing right now.
I stopped letting the athletic performances of 21 years old kids bother me a long time ago. ...as an aged former athlete, the games I lost at 21 that I shouldnβt have lost, still sting. Theyβll remember this loss the rest of their lives.

I still remember losses in high school basketball games 32 years later. I sometimes dream about plays in them. They stick with me even after college, graduate school, postdoc training, and my job.
Not a single Badger fan out there should be surprised by any of this.
Folks are passionate about Wisconsin football and really relish the chance to be one of those βtopβ programs. But did anyone really think Jack Coan was the guy to lead them to a shot at taking on Bama. Last week he played at a high level. This week he remembered he was Jack Coan.
