I can't argue with that. I thought Tramon was especially poor in run support this season.
I think one-eye had only one-shoulder.

I've given up trying to think what Ted should draft, started to think about who he will draft. I would like to see OL/LB with the first three picks, but I think Ted will walk away after trading down into the second with a TE with his first pick.
Some of Ted's picks will fail, but if he gets players like he did in 2012, this team will recover quickly (metaphorically speaking, I'm sure injuries they can
t recover from will happen in spades thanks to the conditioning program).

I don't see TE as an early round pick, if at all. OL, LB, WR in the first 3 rounds - not in any particular order. I also think he drafts another QB this year.
After watching ATL vs SEA, the Packers need a TE.
Check out this historical dung heap of #26 picks...two exceptions.
2011 - KC - Jonathan Baldwin - WR - Pitt
2010 - AZ - Dan Williams - DT - Tennessee
2009 - GB - Clay Matthews III - OLB - USC
2008 - HOU - Duane Brown - OT - Va Tech
2007 - DAL - Anthony Spencer - OLB - Purdue
2006 - BUF - John McCargo - DT - NC State
2005 - SEA - Chris Spencer - C - Ole Miss
2004 - CIN - Chris Perry - RB - Michigan
2003 - SFO - Kwame Harris - OT - Stanford
2002 - PHI - Lito Shepard - DB - Florida
2001 - MIA - Jamar Fletcher - DB - Wisconsin
2000 - BUF - Erik Flowers - DE - Arizona State

Isn't Rodgers the most sacked QB in the league since '08? Fix the OL and LB's and they still need a safety.
Two exceptions? You are a foo(l). Matthews, Brown, Spencer and Spencer are all good players while Dan Williams and Baldwin appear to be developing in to good players (Baldwin's idiocy not withstanding).

And TT wasn't drafting for all those teams. When he did pick #26, he bagged Clay Matthews.
Lito Sheppard was no slouch either. 18 INT in 7 seasons with Philly, 3 returned for TDs.

OL meaning a center at #1, the main reason Rodgers was sacked the most in the NFL was not due to the OL it was because he is scared of throwing the INT and he does not feel the pressure of the rush. His biggest fear is being compared to Favre with interceptions. INT's hurt, but he has got to take more chances.
The more I think about it, the more I believe the Packers should spend their time focusing the draft on the middle of the field. In no specific order:
RB
C
DT
MLB
S

agreed, after Ted trades down
I love the trade down too. BUT, if there's a mauler at C left in the 1st round, we have to take him. The best defense is a kickass offense.
Punish 'em on third down, BAABBYYY!

This.
There is the old adage in sports that says you need to be strong up the middle. Name the sport and this applies.
I am totally on board with any of those 4 positions, with C and ILB as 1a and 1b.
Where does the quarterback line up?
Here's five likely prospects. I'd like to hear what the draftniks think about these prospects in the first round.
Five possible new Packers

You'll notice Kiper posted his mock after I said Zach would be the pick.
Pretty sure Kiper and Patty follow me.

How about this (safe for work)?
(No, it's not Rick Astley.)

I have pretty much narrowed my premium list down to these players. I am sure that after the all star ganes and combine this list will be defined more clearly.
Alec Ogletree ILB
Barrett Jones C/G/T
Zach Ertz TE
Stefan Taylor RB
Joseph Randle RB
Gerald Hodges ILB/OLB
Markus Wheaton WR
Kenny Stills WR
Trey Millard FB
Quite obviously not all these players are 1st or 2nd rounders. But I am looking for players to fit in with our team. Players that are performers with talent and skill.

Minter or Jones would be my choice as they have the talent to be first -rounders and fill a desperate need. If Jones is there I'd be doing as close as I can get to cartwheels. I'd rather have Ball in the second than Lacey in the first at RB.
I could definitely see TT taking a receiver in the second as that's what he does.
2005: Terrance Murphy
2006: Greg Jennings
2007: (James Jones in early third)
2008: Jordy Nelson
2011: Randall Cobb

I keep reading good things about Minter too. Jones would make a lot of sense as well. TT loves his TE's though and the Ertz pick has some merit.
Ertz would seem to make sense as I don't think they will keep Finley beyond next year no matter what.
Minter makes even more sense because outside of Bishop our ILBs suck and he is a good run stopper.
Lots of options for the Packers

So far on this board I have seen these as needs,
c
rb
te
lb
s
dl
ol
So I guess going the BAA really may be a legit option this time around.

Alec Ogletree seems like the perfect fit for the Packers. He's big (albet lanky), he's active, he's very athletic, he is a big time hitter, he covers well, etc. He's a character concern though having been suspended for violation of team rules (I think weed related?). He was arguably the most talented player on that Georgia defense that featured players like Jarvis Jones and John Jenkins, but he may be a potential headache.
When I watch Barrett Jones I think of 1 player: Mike Flanagan. He will excel wherever you put him, but he's not elite IMO. You don't ever see him drive defenders back or really blow defenders up, but he rarely misses his assignment and he rarely gets beat. It just kind of depends on what you want in your player. He's not the most physically gifted player on that line and he's not far from his ceiling, but he could step in immediately and be reliable. Not Nick Mangold, but better than Evan Dietrich-Smith. Mike Flanagan.

I like Ogletree but if his attitude checks out in interviews I think he'll go a lot higher than #26. With the Kaepernicks, Wilsons, Griffins, etc. at QB now I think there may be an increased emphasis on those really explosive front-seven players and with the possible lack of top QBs this year those guys will be pushed up a bit.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I just don't see a QB group pushing those guys down this year. Kansas City picked a bad year to suck.

I won't be surprised if there isn't a single QB selected in round 1. Geno Smith isn't a first round pick...he's not Robert Griffin. Even with the Pistol Offense invasion, he's not going to be coveted IMO. Can't see Matt Barkley convincing teams he is worth a round 1 pick either with the season he just had.
I can't see Ogletree going higher than 19 (NYG). He's good, but he's not top 15 good right now. He is still a little raw and needs to add some bulk. The teams I could see taking him are New York Giants (19), Chicago (20) or Cincy (21), but those teams have other bigger needs right now IMO. I think GB will have a shot at him, the character questions are the only hang up.

I wonder if teams like Seattle and San Fran will want a "pistol-type" as a backup or if they will go "game manager" type? I mention Seattle because I gotta think they will deal Flynn. I would also mention Washington but I'm sure they are very happy with Cousins and expect to flip him if RGIII responds well to the injury.
