if this was a nfl game, it would take the refs 10 minutes to review the offsides on USA goal # 2

They use an electronic instrument to measure those. Personally think that is too precise.

Pulisic kicked in the nuts...I thought that was impossible since they were in his wife's purse...

Just because *your* wife has your nuts in a purse doesn't mean that's the case for Pulisic.

Great match. Zimmerman clutch with the head. Man I thought they were gonna call a penalty at the end.

DJ, carry on with your pathetic life.

Very exciting, and only 2 nails gone.    I thought Iran was more aggressive in the second half, spose they had to be being down a goal.  Great win for team USA.  🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸

I thought you'd be a little more mellow from all that toking to deal with the stress.

Wow. What a match. Gotta hand it to Pulisic. He's been average until this tournament, and he has become the leader of this team with actions. He sold himself out on that goal. And the US almost blew it with a very soft park the bus and being totally gassed, but Iran played it dumb to keep trying to go over the top. Our players are more athletic and bigger, so 50-50 balls worked in our favor -- and the hard head of Zimmerman. I would have hated to see Iran working the ball into the box. And nine minutes of stoppage time? Wow...

All in all, great win for the US and a winnable Netherlands game on Saturday!

(Senegal? Surprise number 1... let's see which others pop up!)

I know virtually nothing about soccer. So can someone put into perspective what the US beating the Netherlands in the round of 16 would be equivalent to?

Would it be like Iowa or (a typical) Wisconsin college football team beating Alabama or Georgia or more like UW-Whitewater beating Alabama or Georgia?

USA is like a good G5 team...think UCF, Cincy.

Netherlands is about as easy of a draw as they could hope for in first round. Netherlands should win, but they are beatable by the USA. Like a top end Pac-12 team...Oregon, Utah, etc.

Clint Dempsey sounds like a Texan again? Cracks me up when American players move to England and develop that middling English accent.😂

Eric Wynalda is absolutely the worst perp.

Wish we'd have signed Tata instead of Turdholder...he's a very good manager.

Under-appreciated globally...Mueller is like Jordy Nelson of world football.
