Belgium chokes again.

Yup...total underperformance again. Living proof collection of talent means little. Hazard is past his prime, Lukaku has always disappointed for club and country, I expected more from Batshuayi. This was their best shot...they won't have this much talent on a club in their prime for a while.

Portugal is my dark horse...and Ronaldo isn't even their best player. If they only had a better keeper...

I was thinking the same thing about Germany's keeper yesterday. He looked like a giraffe trying to make some saves, like he was a U10 out there.

This WC has been fun to see new teams break through on the biggest stage in the world.

You're listening to the wrong people @Boris USMNT has a good shot.

If both play their best game the Dutch Ovens win. If USA plays well and Dutchies play mediocre then USA can win. USA needs to figure out a way to score goals...which given the Dutch have the top CB in the world in Virgil van Dijk will be a challenge. But it can happen...look at Japan and Spain.

My British friend told me this is the best USMNT he's ever seen from a fundamentals standpoint. While we lack the athleticism of most top nations, we have closed the gap on how well we play.

That is real progress.

That said, I'm not expecting we win. But hopeful.
