I have been thinking the same thing. Send them one of the SPs, Gamel, and that first baseman kid flying up the minors and maybe get it done.

I don't want to deal Hunter Morris. I think he's going to be a heck of a hitter in the majors.

I'd be willing to deal Tyler Thornburg, Mat Gamel and one other to get him. The Marlins are looking for salary dump more than anything.

You know what it would take to get Stanton? We don't have it.

This surprises me. I know he is coming off an injury, but I would sure give him the cash necessary to see him come back (timetable is close to ST). On a one year contract, I would give him a Gagne to re-establish his value to the league.

No way. He has 3 months of decent MLB production on his resume. No thanks to Cubs' rejects (Dempster is not one).

I like Dempster but not at 3 years. He has some wear on his tires. Wasn't that the issue with Looper's contract? Really think this would be a good signing for both parties.

He certainly had the skills to be an effective pitcher but they gave him plenty of opportunities to prove himself and he came up short

Have to wonder a little bit what ATL was thinking dealing Tommy Hanson to the Angels for a song.

He's had some injury issues, and the second half of last season was forgettable, but he's got a career 3.60 ERA and he's still a bonafide #2 or #3 pitcher. Those guys are not easy to find and they literally gave him away.

I have to think they believe that shoulder is going many ways wrong

Walden is anything but a song. Most of what I've read has this as a fairly even trade.

Thoughts on Jair Jurgens? I could have sworn he was 30, but he is only 26. I know injuries are a huge issue, but talent isn't. I would love a guy like this if affordable.

I'd like him and he seems to have fallen out of favor down there. Go for it Doug!

ATL has a very good bullpen and they ditched Hanson and appear to be ready to ditch Juurgens.

Good organizations typically don't let good, young talent walk out the door for nothing. Atlanta (a good organization) probably has information on JJ that others may not and that is why they are letting him go. Would rather the Brewers go after Myers over that guy.
