To answer a previous question...the Packers signed Tolzien to the practice squad on September 2, 2013.

From a JS Article: "Quarterbacks coach Ben McAdoo said recently that Tolzien was making strides in learning the offense and that his work ethic was outstanding. He said Tolzien would benefit greatly from going through coach Mike McCarthy's quarterbacks school in the off-season." Read the rest here.

Maybe it's gameday knee jerk reaction, but I'm starting to come around to this point of view. It's becoming increasingly clear to me that we as fans were witnessing fool's gold on defense the first half of the season. I guess going up against the likes of Brandon Weeden, a hobbled RG3, a very overrated (IMO) Joe Flacco may give a false sense of confidence.

Bottom line, when the franchise QB went down, the defense really needed to step up to help cope with that loss. Clearly that's just not happening.

yeah but the Eagles offense is good. and our offense doesn't even have 13 points. So I find it hard to blame the defense. AR puts up 40 on that cupcake defense easily.

There are definitely a couple holes in the secondary with Williams (he's wildly inconsistent) and the other safety, but they still should be better than this.

They really aren't that impressive at all. They're burning the Packers deep with ease. The secondary looked lost on both of their scoring bombs. 2 good plays by the DBs, and this is a 6-3 game.

I just don't see how you can blame this (potential) loss on anything besides the fact that Aaron Rodgers is hurt.

It's honestly that simple. Our best player, the best QB in the league, is not playing. You don't need to look any deeper than that.
