The 1's needed live bullet red zone snaps. Davante needs the reps.

Its the same argument/discussion about resting players after you've wrapped up home field and a bye. You can't protect football players from football.

Right. Seems very pointless. The league needs to do something about this, but as Aaron said, the preseason games are full ticket price.

This stuff just happens, every year, all around the league.

What gets me more are substandard playing surfaces, in today's game. Ridiculous.

The soccer field stripes on that field say different. I know the NFL has to do a better job of mandating field quality. But what about the Steelers? How can you have your team play on painted dirt? How do you invest $140 million in contracts and subject your own team to that?

I blame the CBA. Ever since the new CBA, we've seen more injuries in pre-season. Why?

Less contact during practice.

Training camp should open about June 15 to get these guys ready for pre-season action. They could ease into it then.

I've stopped watching NFL network after this game. They keep using the word "devastating" when discussing Jordy's knee injury. I'm disgusted

I mentioned this earlier in the game thread but the Steelers don't own Heinz Field. It's sort of like Soldier Field. Municipal authorities own and are responsible for the facilities. They'll sell access to whoever. Like local authorities in PA and Chicago are exemplars of the public trust, doncha know? No wonder both fields suck.

Effective November 1999, the Public Auditorium Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County's name was legally changed to the Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County (SEA). The Public Auditorium Authorities Law was re-codified in 2000 and the Authority is now authorized and exists under the Sports and Exhibition Authority Act through March 23, 2049.

As a joint authority for the City and County, the SEA provides venues for sporting, entertainment, educational, cultural, civic, and social events for the public. The Authority owns and leases PNC Park, Heinz Field and CONSOL Energy Center. The Authority owns and is responsible for the operation of the David L. Lawrence Convention Center (Convention Center). The SEA also owns two parking facilities, riverfront parks, and various associated infrastructure improvements.

The Board of Directors of the Authority is a seven member group appointed by the Mayor of the City and Chief Executive of the County.

What will the result be?

Goodell will suspend the GM and HC for 4 games each for seeking an unfair competitive advantage.

After untruthful leaks to ESPN to spin public opinion, and taking 4 months to investigate and millions in outside law firm fees.

All about the Benjamins.

@AlbertBreer: Aaron Rodgers' comments were pointed about preseason -- called games "meaningless". Steelers guys I talked to said he was dejected postgame.

@AlbertBreer: Rodgers may soften his comments, but he has a point. NFL is only level of football with anywhere near this amount of game action preseason.

Just watched Aarons post game press conference. Yeah he looked quite dejected alright. And I don't blame him not one bit. Really made his point about his opinion on the pre season games. Said they should cut them back to two games at least. It really sucks for him to most likely lose his #1 target for the season to a game that's centered mostly around evaluating talent.

This might be the good news MM is hoping for.

.New Technology makes TYPE of ACL Tear key. If Rips off of Bone=No Graft and Repair=Back mid season!Worst is MidSubstance location=Graft

And no. I'm not holding my breath.

DVR'd the game for after lunch with the parents. A few observations:

Don Barclay should never see time at LT again. I know they like guys to settle in to one position or two if swing, but move Tretter out there then, at least he's more athletic. Barclay wasn't very good at RT either.

Damarius Randall does a lot of the little things well, be it keeping contain filling the lane, etc. He looks like he'll be a good, all-around defender.

Sam Barringhawksucks. Apparently Regressing to the Mean applies to the position in Green Bay. ILB remains an issue.

Ugh! Jordy!

Ripkowski is pretty likely to stick, TEs are sweating.

Rollins struggled a bit compared to what we've seen from him.

I like Mulumba, but man is he still raw.

Two games should be the target. Have the starters play the first half of the first game, and then give 100% of the snaps of the remaining six quarters of the preseason to the rookies and backups. That'd be the perfect configuration.

Bulaga also walked off the field and didn't seem to be too bad off when he tore his ACL on Family Night a couple years ago. Not the least bit optimistic about this one.

And, Jordy still would have been down in this scenario.

Lol I posted it try and lighten the mood. Trying to get my mind off the team losing their best WR for the season thanks to playing in a meaningless game in front of a half empty stadium on a ****ty field. F**q

What do people care, if the guy could come back and perform well? Forget the as swipe. I was there. That was one cold, awful night. But, it wouldn't have happened if our own fans hadn't mooned them for years.

Doubt it would happen, but if he could win a spot, I would be able to welcome Moss here. Something like that could be good. Ask Favre. Would love to know what he would think of the idea.

Do you really think Randy Moss would be a detriment? That he couldn't win against today's DBs? Wonder what Rodgers would think about this?
