Exactly CJ.

Hundley had 9 starts and finished 3-6. He was up and down and inconsistent. Not all that unexpected from a 5th rounder with essentially 2 years in the league. Again, no harm or cost to have him come to camp.

Sometimes, there is a switch, and then the light just comes on. Sometimes it is a fader that slowly shines light on the situation. Sometimes, the breaker is tripped and no one knows where the breaker box is.

I'm fairly certain Hundley will be there when they start TC. No problem seeing if he has learned anything from this past season.

Waste of a roster spot

It's a 90 man roster at the start of TC.  Would you rather have another clueless camp arm throwing passes in TC, or a player who knows something about the offense and can help develope the young receivers?

If Hundley was the starting QB in 2018 Vegas would list GB at 5.5 over/under for wins. Let’s call it exactly what he is. What he did.

Thats not saying he can’t be better. I don’t think he was prepared for what he was thrown into. But nothing he did last year says his future should be anything different than what we all watched.

Kind of like what we know what anyone on defense is actually capable of.

We really don’t know much of anything about this roster.

He played exactly like he did at UCLA after years with MM and Rodgers.

Tells me all I need to know. Next!

He'll be in training camp.  What he does in the pre-season will determine if he makes the team.

The Packers' passing game is built on AR's ability to anticipate what is going to come open, the patience/ elusiveness to wait for the moment and the arm strength and accuracy to take advantage of the fleeting opportunity. It's an uncommon skill set and if you recognize how lucky the Packers were to get AR as successor to Favre, you know how unlikely it is to find another with the same ability. Hundley doesn't appear equal to the job in any respect but that's not really an indictment of him. There may be one or two qbs in the league who could run this offense successfully.

Agree on Hundley, but Favre ran the offense pretty well until he didn't want to any longer, probably because of the discipline required. Rodgers is a fit for MM's offense, but I don't think he'd be the only fit. There are so few QBs who can run any NFL offense, and it takes the right mesh to make a team go.

My question is, would MM change his system to fit a QB without AR's skills? Imagine if he didn't have AR and had to start with a newly drafted guy who was not as skilled as AR (not Hundley, who was in the QB room for three years). Would MM revamp his offense to the new guys' skills or expect the new guy to conform? That would be the real test of MM's coaching acumen.

We saw how he called his offense with Hundley so I’m guessing he would require the rook to conform because McCarthy is too stuck in his ways. He should’ve went upstairs with Thompson because he’s well past him prime

I have zero confidence in Hundley ever having success throwing the ball downfield.

Same as I because until he actually throws it downfield, the offense isn't going anywhere.  At times he just hung on to it too long.  He needs to learn to pull the trigger - or pull it sooner.

There are articles comparing what Foles and Keenum did with Hundley.  Foles and Keenum both had extended periods of actual regular season playing time before having to pick up the reigns of their respective teams this season.  Hundley had not - and it showed.  So to me it is comparing apples and oranges.
