“It’s been a little hectic,” Montgomery said, “but at the end of the day I had a great opportunity to go to a great program and be with a great coaching staff. I think A&M and coach Fisher are going to do really well there. At the end of the day, the best opportunity for me and my family was here in Green Bay. So I’m going to leave it at that, and just thankful for the opportunity to be here.”

His short tenure as a recruiter for A&M should give him a heads up on the 2020-2022 drafts.

He’s lucky he had 4 and 12 to coach all the other 52 players, develop game plans, and call plays. Those two must have been worn out!

So again, when he gets a 500 record without a top 10 all time QB starting, I'll give him the BoD.   His current losing record doesn't warrant it.

Listened to McCarthy's presser introducing the coaches. When discussing Pettine, McCarthy mentioned not forcing a round peg into a square hole. Seems coach has been reading Boris's posts!

Said multiple times, in every aspect of the team, about tailoring the schemes to fit their players.

Happy days are here again...

Mike continued forcing a Dom peg into a black hole. For years.

Mike is pretty much in a no win here. If the offense takes off and Pettine turns in a top 10 defense Mikes going to have some ‘splaining to do.

Watch the Philbin and Pettine pressers too.

Really like having Philbin back. Question about how lots of players always commented about his in-game adjustments. Let's hope that is still one of his strengths. Also, Rodgers really likes him.

Pettine, if I am still this way in 4 hours, I need to call a Dr.    Lots to like with this guy. When asked about a HC job again he said no before the question was finished. Had never been to GB before. No pre-season game, nothing. I like how he talked about Matthews' versatility. I like ho he talked about simplicity with options, and he talked specifically about working with the players he has instead of forcing something.

Even with 8 straight years of playoff football, including a SB Championship, I might be more excited about this off-season than those past 8.

Nagler tweeted this out about 40 minutes ago. This is excellent comedy from TT

If we have a top 10 defense and a healthy Aaron Rodgers then we're winning a SB, why would you give a schit about what has happened in the past?

And? If McCarthy wins another SB why do we care? If he wins SBs for the next 4 years are you really going to keep dwelling on the fact that we didn't win any from 2011 to 2017? Seems like a waste of energy, I'm always excited to move forward with whoever works for this team.

Dwelling? No. Referencing from time to time? Sure.

Dwelling on it would be like how Viks fan will be discussing 2009 and 2017 for years to come. So close, yet so far away.

I think you SHOULD be right.  But I don't think the media will remember - like you (and others here including myself) do.  It will a return to SB status and they will be happy with it.

I don't think he over-reached, he can fill out his staff however he likes, he just made bad choices for promotions. When you spend years developing an assistant coach who knows the system as well as you I can understand not wanting them to just walk away. Bennett in particular had/has a bright future in coaching, he just wasn't ready for the big chair. I also think hiring Sirmons and Angelicho opened his eyes to hiring experienced coaches who he doesn't have a deep history with, they've done well so far.
