@RapSheet: One potential play-maker hitting the market: #Packers TE Jimmy Graham is not expected back in Green Bay, sources say. The move with the 33-year old former free agent signing is noteable, though not a surprise for anyone involved.
Semi-confirmation of the conventional wisdom that’s been out there.
Very incomplete and shoddy reporting here by Rapoport.
Your right of course.
Agree with all of the above but in case you all forgot he had a monumental first down conversion vs. Seattle in the playoffs.
In any event -- it's definitely time to move forward from the 33 year old TE.
Niners will cut Goodwin.
Don't know if he has anything left on the field but he is a really good person. Like really good.
If he has any speed left -- he will get deep & hopefully vegetarian boy can get him the ball if he comes into the Packer org.

He hit 31 reps at the combine. Spriggs problem was technique and football IQ and that continued in the NFL. If he had figured out the mental game out he would have been a franchise LT. He had the same flaws in the NFL that he had at IU, but that offense got the ball out so quick that it masked a lot of his flaws.
Being able to bench press is fine. Doesn't help much if you cannot set up and anchor against a bull rushing 290lb defensive end.
Spriggs couldn't and it ruined the rest of this game. He was so worried about trying to anchor against a guy who was stronger he'd then get beat every which way but Tuesday. He could bench press but he had the ass and legs of a big wideout.

OT Jared Veldheer, who came out of retirement last year to finish the season with the Packers, plans to play this season, per source. Multiple teams inquired about him at the combine and were told he wants to play again this season, per source. Veldheer is a free agent.

Packers are one of them even if they resign Bulaga.
I don’t want to argue about Spriggs’ problems, but I think he was plenty strong to handle the position. He didn’t lose because he couldn’t anchor and take a bull rush, it’s because play to play he had no clue cognizance of the pass rushers plan. These guys don’t just rush wildly every play, they have a full plan play to play where they’re testing for weaknesses and setting things up for later. Spriggs was so terrified of speed rush every play it seemed that he overset and was just wildly off balance for power moves and inside moves. He must have driven Campen crazy on Monday mornings. That level of football IQ is the reason guys like Bulaga and Bakh can overcome any physical deficiencies and still win...most of the time they seemingly know what the pass rusher is doing every single play.
What GD said. It was in his head. He hasn't resurfaced on another team. No surprise why.
YA - If you are referring to Spriggs he spent most of last year on IR and is now a unrestricted free agent. He has never left the Packers and as it is he is still the property of the Packers. He can't "resurface on another team" until the FA period opens. Please correct me if I am not referring to the right person or the Packers have cut him. But I am not aware of that.
Thought they cut him in an injury settlement.
If you go to Packers.com and click on roster you will see Spriggs listed as inured reserve.
Spriggs is like COVID-19
Can't get rid of it???
I think covid-19 is enjoying more success.

That's the QBs he blocks for.

If it was in his head then some team would have believed it could coach him up.
It was in his ass. When you can't hold up to a bull rush then you are susceptible to every pass rush move because you have to set to absorb the initial push.
I saw it in Spriggs repeatedly. He would set to take a push and when the rusher did something else he was dead. And when he did get a bull rush he got run over.

Who would want to sign him? He's either injured, or extremely un-motivated.
If this article is correct, I think GB goes for a WR in the first round of the draft.
Or OL if a good one drops because there will be good WR's available in RD2. The top 3 FA ILB's will be drawing high bids from a number of suitors. I don't know that Goop will want to blow his whole FA wad on one guy.
That Rams LB Littleton would be perfect against the Niners. Watch the film.
Yeah he's strong in coverage. Needs to wrap up better when tackling, but he can cover any back out of the backfield.
Another MLB hitting free agency. Also ILB Christian Kirksey also hitting FA after being released by the Browns. Both of these could interest GB, while at the same Blake Martinez may not be quite so in demand if the FA has a multitude of options at ILB.
Had a good chat with #Patriots LB Kyle Van Noy on hitting free agency for the first time, the Tom Brady factor and why he compares to Tyrann Mathieu https://t.co/B8kUjJ5a5k

“I’ll be frank, I don’t see myself waiting around. I’m pretty sure those (other free agents) aren’t going to wait around either. They’re really good at their craft. They’re at the top of the league at their position so it’ll be interesting.”
Van Noy played near a Pro Bowl level in 2019, and with two Super Bowl rings at 28 years old, he’s hitting free agency at the right time. An unconventional linebacker/defensive end, his versatility could aid him on the open market. And he told Mike Garafolo the Patriots haven’t been in touch yet, so he’ll likely get his chance to test it.
For some reason I thought Van Noy was older than that. He would be a pretty solid get.
He was so bad in Detroit it's hard to know whether he just matured/developed in NE or he really only works when he has a football genius like BB maneuvering him.
I definitely think of him as a mid-tier signing. If he's looking for a huge contract then no.
Per the article from NFL.com, it appears DeToilet had no idea how to use him properly. Not like we haven't seen that before *COUGH Taysom Hill COUGH* with other NFL coaches.
Kirksey will definitely get some FA action as he's a good player. Probably a 1 year prove it deal as he's missed time with several injuries.
Bryan Bulaga's price tag could be $12M or more per season, according to @CharlesRobinson.

Pass
I figured. Turner and Veldheer maybe.
#Cowboys’ Byron Jones’ market *starts* at $16-$17 mil per season, according to teams I’ve spoken to. And that’s without factoring in whether it’s an Oklahoma land rush for him. Conservstive market on #Packers RT Bryan Bulaga is projecting to be $12 mil per. RTs about to get paid.
— Charles Robinson (@CharlesRobinson) March 11, 2020
The legend of Taysom Hill is never going to end. This generation's Paul Hornung some say.
$12M isnt too bad as long as the team is protected against injury (i.e. not fully guaranteed or back loaded). That still makes him the 3rd highest paid RT in the NFL, which is fair. In a division with Danielle Hunter, Khalil Mack, possibly Chase Young if the Redskins shit the bed (they will), I don't think we can afford to gamble on Veldy's old bones or Turner's edge competency. It sounds nice to patchwork the position and develop a young guy like Austin Jackson, but when the rubber hits the road and Rodgers is getting his face smashed because Turner has RG feet instead of RT I think $12M is going to sound mighty reasonable.
Kirksey (pectoral) will visit the Raiders on Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Released by the Browns on Tuesday, the 27-year-old linebacker already has visits lined up with three teams, per Dan Graziano of ESPN.com. Injuries limited Kirksey to nine appearances over the past two seasons, but prior to that he was a 16-game starter for Cleveland in 2016 and 2017. He should make a full recovery from October pectoral surgery before the start of training camp this summer.
For me, the MLB of choice is Littleton in FA. After him, I think the kid from Chicago would be a nice addition.
I bet the team doesn't sign one of the top ILB FAs.
With what Gute said at the combine about Burks I just get the feeling they will give the guy his shot and draft someone maybe in the 3rd or 4th to add depth.
Taysom Hill could play better than Burks.
All but official now.
@AdamSchefter: Packers are releasing TE Jimmy Graham on Thursday, per source. He will become an immediate free agent.
