Where the hell are you doing with this comparison here? Osweiller was ridiculously overpaid. Rodgers is underpaid. This makes zero sense.

Retirement or sitting out just isn't going to happen here. He gets a contract extension and remains a Packer or he plays one more year and is traded in 2022. That's the two most likely outcomes. A very longshot 3rd option is he's traded this year.

All Rodgers all the time thread topic be damned.

Ostrich rider is probably not a first ballot HoF'er either, so yah, hard to follow the mapping on that analogy.

Completely agree.  I can't see Rodgers just sitting out at this stage in his career.  And really for what?  He feels disrespected by the FO?  Come on man...

Not to mention the 2021 roster is loaded with talent.  GB isn't some scrub team that doesn't have a chance to be successful.  

Rodgers is the Packers best option at QB for a deep playoff run in '21 and very likely in '22.

He knows this, which is why he wants a commitment.

The Packers know this, which is why they like the deal they have with him now.

Another MVP like year and final 4 appearance, and we'll likely see some guarantees and extension from GB.

Not at all.

Regardless of ARs feeling toward the front office/Murphy, he’s a competitor and a professional. He wants to win another SB, win another MVP, and continue his legacy as one of the greatest QBs of his generation. He can’t leave GB on his own accord and he had no beef with the coaching staff and players. He will report to TC next month and go to battle with his teammates in a quest to bring the Lombardi back to GB. And then the front office will have to figure out if they want to stick with AR of transition to JL.

Or AR could retire.

Denver sports radio is going nuts over this news, that Rodgers now has all the leverage and can now force a trade before next Friday.  They're convinced Rodgers will be traded and if he's not, it's because the Packers are stupid.  Gotta love local sports radio .

If nothing else, it will be fun to watch said leverage dissipate in front of their eyes.
