Look how many TFL this big man has...his teammate Jordan Davis got all the love because he looks like a video game player you'd invent, 6'6" 340lbs...he didn't run the 3-cone and Wyatt did posting an insane 8.43 which is elite for DT.

Wyatt reminds me a ton of Aaron Donald...in fact he had a much better 3-cone than Donald in spite of being 20lbs heavier.

He also has the versatility to play the 3-technique, 1-technique of 5-technique. Jordan Davis isn't doing that.

Look at that 10 yard split. Insane!

Wyatt ran a sub 11sec 100M in HS track.  He wasn't 304lbs but I'm sure he wasn't 150 either.  Holy sh!t there has to be video of that somewhere.  It must look like Zion Williamson's HS BB tape.  I mean I ran a wind aided 10.98 once but I was probably about as big as his right arm at that age.

Not quite. And there is a blurry video at the link.

Not that bench is the be all end all, but how strong is Wyatt?  That's what makes Donald so special - combines all those athletic traits with being unbelievably strong.

Either way the bar's been set.  He should be Aaron Donald 2.0.  Anything less and I'm calling for Gute's head.

We are Packer fans. Why are you going easy on Gutey and making the bar Aaron Donald 2.0? Anything less than Reggie White 2.0 and we should be disappointed.

Based on this, Wyatt is plenty strong. However, you are right, he's not in the same ballpark as Donald. Donald has benched almost 500 pounds.

β€œThe Dawgs are loaded with talent, but this is their biggest Freak. The 6-3, 307-pound lineman was a disruptive force in the middle of the Georgia defense. He had 25 tackles and 14 quarterback pressures in 2020. His most impressive testing number is the 4.87 40 he clocked this offseason. He also vertical jumped 31 inches and broad jumped 9-3. The former high school shot putter is also very strong, benching 385 pounds and squatting 585.”

The bench press can be a very uneven measurement of true strength.  Guys with longer arms have a more difficult challenge than those with shorter arms.  Not sure how long Donald's or Wyatt's arms are, but it could weigh into any disparities.

Those highlights show an explosive, fast DT with the ability to get amazingly skinny.  Really stoked about this pick.  He and KC are going to be a holy terror along with Gary and Smith.  Thing is, this young guy's just getting started.  Think about how much better he'll get.

You think about the potential of this D when they go 2 down lineman with Clark and Wyatt and you’ve added a ton of speed and athleticism with Quay alongside an already explosive Campbell and obviously P Smith and Gary off the edge.  Those 6 guys should do a lot of damage.  Not to mention you have 3 really good corners that challenge receivers and holy crap.  This could be a scary defense.

But I hear our backup CBs are awful.  I imagine most of the league has fabulous backup CBs. Woe is us.

The starters have a lot of promise, but there's basically no one behind them at linebacker or d-back when someone gets hurt. We're talking just guys who won't shit the bed when put into the game. There isn't much money to spend and getting lucky with a diamond in the shit heap doesn't happen very often.

That's where Wyatt's athleticism may put him on the edge if Gary or Preston go down for any length of time. Yeah, it would be nice if he could settle in to "one" spot as a rookie, but they'll likely move him around anyway if he looks anywhere near as good as his potential. As odd as it sounds, D-line looks to be one of their deepest positions this year. Clark, Wyatt, Lowry, Slaton, Reed will probably be the game day actives most weeks, and that appears to be a pretty solid group.

Edge depth was a concern of mine going into the draft too.  I think Enagbare is in line to get a good number of snaps, so hopefully he's up to it.  And I think Wyatt and Walker actually alleviate the depth issues at edge.  Packers will be playing mostly nickel and dime, so only play  5 or 6 players at DL/LB.  Between Clark, Reed, Wyatt, Campbell, Walker, Gary, Smith and Enagbare, I think they'll get creative to manage the lack of depth at edge.

Of course if Smith or Gary goes down, they're in trouble.  Outside of RB and OL, this team doesn't have a whole lot of depth.  But that's what happens when you go into the offseason $45m over the cap.

from Dane Brugler Draft Review

"With his athletic traits, Wyatt can win in different ways off the ball, displaying initial quickness, lateral range and chase down speed. In the run game, he understands how to leverage gaps and find the ball carrier, although he would benefit from becoming a better finisher.

Overall, Wyatt needs to play with better control and play recognition, but he fires off the ball and competes with the speed and effort to make an impact on all three downs.

Wyatt has NFL starting skills and is the best three-technique tackle in this draft class."

Wyatt will benefit from not having to be Warren Sapp as a rookie…KC, Reed, Lowry and Slaton are being counted on as the rotation…they can pick and choose where to use him…I could see him deployed as an interior pass rush specialist…when they need pressure up the middle, roll him out. His teammate got all the love because he looks like a human video game player…but Wyatt is no joke.
