Work release, eh.
My balls are my pad level. Low man wins.
Thatβs a sign of limited ejaculation. Stop neglecting yourself.
Bucky Brooks snapshot analysis after the pick:
Quay Walker - The ultra-athletic defender is an explosive sideline-to-sideline playmaker with range and solid tackling skills. Walkerβs prototypical physical dimensions and natural instincts should make him an effective pro.
Will be interesting to compare Quay to Devin Lloyd over the next couple of seasons. Just about everyone had Lloyd in or very near the top 32 picks. Quay was a late riser since the combine. With both available at #22, hopefully Gute & co. got it right.
The Georgia productβs full name is Jaquavian Jy'Quese Walker.
So they drafted JJW.
I can see why he goes by "Quay", even though everyone knows it should be pronounced "key":

I know you can find great players anywhere but if you look at the most elite LB in the league the last decade, more come from the SEC than the Pac-12.
Lloyd is a good player...but he's not going to be better than Walker IMO
Great players can come from anywhere... but there's simply more horses in the SEC, in particular at two schools.
He can cover the league's athletic TE...why would we want that?
Hard to complain about drafting an athletic, 3-down ILB that led the country's best defense to a National Championship. Curious though - why was he slated to go late 1st? Just positional, where teams no longer value ILBs?
To think the Packers, who started the likes of DJ Smith, Joe Thomas, Brad Jones, Jamari Lattimore, Nate Palmer, Antonio Morrison, Jake Ryan, BJ Goodson, Oren Burks, Ty Summers and some other worthless forgettables I've already forgotten will now have Quay Walker and De'Vondre Campbell backed up by an OK Krys Barnes is just mind boggling.
Couldn't agree more SteveLuke. We have been bitching for years about the middle of that defense, especially the pedestrian level play at MLB. We got some dogs now.
The thinking of the organization regarding the position does seemed to have shifted dramatically. Suspect seeing the TB and SF defenses end the Packers season the past two years probably played a major role.
No no no. It was all Henry's wailing that finally wore them down.
Unlike his predecessor, Gutey tried to address ILB right from the get go by moving up to select Burks in round 3 of the 2018 draft. He subsequently at least tried to bolster the roster by adding outsiders like Morrison, Goodson, and Kirksey.
Those gambits obviously failed, but he did not just blithely neglect the position and demonstrated this was no longer Ted Thompson's team.
Gutey then struck Gold with Campbell last offseason.
If he strikes even Silver with Walker and Wyatt, we are looking at a completely different Packer defense than what we've seen since the 2010 Super Bowl run.
There has not been a top 10 scoring D in GB since ... the 2010 season.
Gutey has overseen a nearly complete transformation (talent, scheme, coaching) of the Thompson/ McCarthy era D and added Jaire, Stokes, Douglas, Amos, Savage, P. Smith, Gary, Campbell, Walker, Wyatt, Reed (and maybe another gem or 2 to come).
Well done Gutey ... now please do something about that God awful receiving corps.

I admit, I was a bit skeptical taking him over Lloyd. Honestly, I never heard much about this guy. I like what I see on these highlights though. He tackles with bad intentions, and will add a nastiness to this defense. Pretty talented too.

Goop has definitely redeemed himself in his approach. The whole Rodgers saga just set the team back significantly from a roster building position.
He definitely fucked up in the beginning but has done pretty well on the pivot. Problem is the pivot still put him behind the eight ball as far as building the best team possible, hence the cavern at WR.
I definitely won't put that talent gap all on the FO. I thought for all of Rodgers trolling and dickbaggery in the offseason it would at least translate to the best product possible on the field. His contract horseshit proved it was just about him, not even his legacy on the football field.

It was never all on the FRONT OFFICE, but the buck has got to stop somewhere and the FRONT OFFICE (not just Gute) has now indisputably and CONSCIOUSLY tied itself hook, line, and sinker to the Good Ship Rodgers.
No one can accuse the FRONT OFFICE of being unfairly blindsided by any of "Rodgers trolling and dickbaggery," as they have collectively and willingly jumped into bed and spread wide for whatever he has to offer them after observing him up close and personal for 15+ years.
I advocated moving on from ARod after the latest Playoff debacle.
Just imagine the Pack with Noah Fant at TE, Garrett Wilson at WR, another good player from Denver (or Shelby Harris) and the 40th, 53, and 59th picks coming up in round 2 as well as extra 1st and 2nd rounders in next year's draft.
But the FRONT OFFICE decided not to move on from ARod even knowing Davante was not coming back.
The decision to stick with Rodgers tells Packer fans all they need to know about the FRONT OFFICE'S confidence in it's 2020 1st (and 4th) round pick or, alternatively, that the FRONT OFFICE is too frightened about blowback from making a bold move like trading away Rodgers.
Anyway, and on the bright side, Gute has shown a genuine knack for finding defensive talent and the 2022 offseason (as the FRONT OFFICE fans keep noting) is not yet over so perhaps he can do something about a TE/WR corps that, talent-wise, currently rivals the 2016 D that featured the likes of Letroy Guion, Jake Ryan, and Ladarius Gunter.
The FO is full of fucking buffoons. I think we agree on that. My whole point is as good a job as Milt and Goot have done on the pivot they are still behind in roster building be it draft or FA because of the bomb they lit.
One real benefit I do believe that came out of this whole saga was the maturation of Grunt as a GM. You can't go through that kind of ass kicking and not learn where you fucked up. He's going to have to deal with some serious lean years in the near future, the kind that can get a GM fired, but I think he should be given the benefit of the doubt for a bit post Rodgers. That was a hell of an education.
Murphy and Ball can't be gone soon enough and hopefully the old structure is restored. Then we can see what the GM/Personnel/Scouts are really made of.
All that said, I hope Milt is making the call on WR picks because that is definitely not Grump's forte.
We know where you were.

Gutekunst and Rodgers are in this together.
Gutekunst last nght:
βAaronβs going to be heavily involved in the development of not only players who are in our building right now, but certainly whoever we bring in,β Gutekunst said.
Rodgers on the McAfee show last night:
βIβm sure Packers nation will be wondering why we didnβt take a receiver or trade up. At this point you just have to have faith in the orgβ¦Whoever we bring in tomorrow & the rest of this draft, Iβm going to put in the time to work w those guys.β

Gute and ARod are most certainly "in this together" on the PR front after last offseason's trials and tribulations.
Let's hope they are also "together" on the far more important (and substantive) matter of adding some legitimate receiving weapons.
This kid is going to be our Micah Parsons. Might be the first time in forever that the defense is more fun to watch than the offense.

I hope he's not just blowing smoke. He needs to be in training camp with the new guys, unlike the last few seasons where he skipped.

Of course he is. That's the other reason why not loading up on WR probably makes sense.

Now that he knows he's a link in the chain, He wouldn't want to be the weakest one.

My goodness, but it has been dreadful.
Wasting the prime of AR and our allegiance to the team worn thin.
I'd tell you if I was in the pokey. Just make you shit your pants all the more.
Man you are some gullible dumdums.
I'm not sure what's worse.
Glad you are back Henry.
Relax. Heβs just out on Huber.
Part of me is still waiting for the announcement they're trading Walker for a veteran receiver. The fact they took an ILB first still seems surreal. I really like it, part of me almost still has an issue believing it.
