Mahomes won that game.
Our last good backup QB was Randall Cobb. Luckily he was 3rd string for the game and didn't have to play. I'm also good without a vet QB. Since the offensive line can push, if worst comes to worst, we direct snap to the backs and play American rugby.
I'm going with Zeke Bratkowski as our last good backup.
With the benefit of hindsight, Rodgers was the last great backup.
Love is potential.

I said he had better stats than Mahomes.
J-Love- 19/34 190 yards 1 TD
Mahomes- 20/37 166 yards 1 TD
I didn't know that winning every road game they appear in is the only criteria for being a good backup.

How many games did Aaron win as a backup?
Someone once said, winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.
None, but hindsight tells us he was a great backup.
Wait…that should be Y.A’s avatar.
@FreeFromWhatYouAre posted:Looked good when he went in. Had better stats than Mahomes vs. the Chiefs. And looked even better vs. Philly.
Was a good backup. Potential to now be a great starter.
Stay tuned...
If you think Love “looked good” vs KC, I’m glad you’re not our talent scout. I don’t care what his stats were compared to Mahomes, he was overmatched in that game. However, this year in Philly (and I was at that game), he looked much more poised and confident.
@FreeFromWhatYouAre posted:"Tanking" isn't an option no matter what. Just not a reality that would ever happen. The end.
Who is this great "vet QB" that you want to bring in and pay?
never said anything about great. But whoever the vet is would probabaly be a little bit better equipped to win a game if needed whereas a game with a rookie or free agent QB would probably not end well for them or the team. As far as pay, I know the team is limited but I doubt those available would be requesting top dollar. And as I said, if the idea is to tank, then by all means tank. Blow off 2023 and reconstruct for 2024 and beyond. San Fran, Miami, and Cincinnatti benefited from that philosophy. Nobody will be worse than Tampa this year tho.
I don't have a problem going with Etling and Clifford as backups. If Love goes out, it will likely be a repeat of 2013, whether a vet QB is signed or not.
FWIW, I think the remaining available FA QBs will largely stay that way unless the injury bug strikes. Now that the Rodgers/Packers/Jets trade is done, Baltimore finally signing Jackson, and the draft has happened, the teams that had questions at QB have settled those, and the talk/rumor hype has quietened.
I think Ricky Bobby was Danish.
We've come full circle ⭕

Perhaps you are joking, because I hope you don't delusionally believe the Packers would ever intentionally tank a season.
You are a fan of the most successful franchise in the history of the NFL. Show some respect and honor to the G.
Yours is the talk of pathetic fan bases that look for excuses for their team sucking, so they resort to saying they are "tanking."
Sounding like a Bears fan is never a good look.

All one needs to do is go back and read posts during and after that [KC] game.

Yeah, cuz posts on a message board full of "fans" that mostly have no clue what they are talking about when it comes to evaluating young QBs, is a highly credible source for information on how J-Love looked out there.
On the road in a hostile environment in KC for his first ever start. J-Love looked good out there. A trained eye could see the talent is there. The arm strength and a quality release of the football. The footwork was not perfect at that time, but the base was solid. A lot of positives from that game. Jordan took those positives, and ignored, didn't even pay attention to any hater BS from the butthurt failures at life online. Any of that is 100% meaningless. From that game forward Jordan only focused on developing and growing his game even more.
The last year or so under Tom Clements wing, Jordan has looked like a superstar in practice. Then he got limited time in Philly this past season and looked extremely confident and strong out there.
J-Love is now ready. It is time! Yes, there will be a couple bumps in the road in his first season as the man, but the future is bright at QB in Green Bay. Anyone that thinks J-Love is going to be a complete disaster this season, and going forward, is in for a rude awakening.

Brock Purdy would like a word with you.
Having a smokeshow and a trained eye... the chosen one!

yea, because one kid out of a million is considered the norm. Especially one that plays with the best defense in the league, best running back in the league, and one of the top talents in Tight End and WR in the league are part of the team. Apples to Broccoli

Well, the point is that the thinking that a rookie QB can't be a serviceable backup is flawed.
Have a great day!

Why do you never address me? Because you know you are simply trolling me? It's fine, just don't wonder why I block you. No time for those type of games, sorry.
If your agenda here is just to follow me around and attempt and fail at trolling me, while also trying to disagree with everything I write because you feel I may have some actual knowledge and that intimidates you then....

Dude.
The admins around here don’t (or shouldn’t have to) give out many warnings…you already got yours.
We’ve seen your ilk 50 times here…it never ends well.
Say, are you looking to sell that MDX?
@Blair Kiel posted:Say, are you looking to sell that MDX?
Yeah, 52K and it's yours. Let me know.
Would you take a check?
That will only leave BK 13K left to spend on his yearly salary.
SS checks are non-transferrable. Reported.
Hateful (TM)

Cashier's Check from your bank, sure.

I for one am glad to have FFWYA posting to liven things up in the off-season.
My only fear is that he's Jaymo.

Thanks for the support.
I'm not sure who "Jaymo" is but I can assure you I am no one but myself. I find it quite amusing how much I trigger some here. Too funny!
I don't think Keke Coutee makes the squad, but I am amazed there isn't more actual Packers news posted here.
I am much more interested in that than if someone is butthurt over a new member of the forum, or wasting time attacking said new member.
Again, thanks for being a stable, well balanced, human being. There are a few here.
Edit:: And it's probably easier to call me Free than FFWYA. FFWYA looks like something from an escort menu.😏
You just called Y.A. a stable well-balanced human being!
