Offensive line issues

I don't know that I'd say it's an issue, but it's a fair point.
On one hand, Myers gives a perception that he could've been slack recognizing defenses and calling the adjustment. I'd generally expect an OL, regardless of position, to recognize/adjust their responsibility, but it's mandatory for the C.
On the other, it's another example of players realizing their success (and future) now depends on each other, not one particular player. And that's a good thing.
JMHO, others may vary.
I'm not an OC and never will be, but one of the responsibilities of a Center is to make the initial blocking call, reading the position of the DL and LB's.
Meyers needs to make that call every play, full stop.
If Love disagrees, he can reset.
Meyers needs to be able to make that call every play and then consistently execute his block.
If he can't do both then he is a Guard, not a Center.
antooo - could not agree more. Jenkins can play center, as can Tom. Jake Hanson is also an option.
Move Jenkins again?
I wouldn't, unless injuries require it.
Sorry if itās off topic. I lived in Wisconsin during my teens and twenties. I am a UW grad (before it broke up into satellites). I had fun in Wisconsin and loved this article about JJ Watt. https://www.outkick.com/jj-wat...y-of-wisconsin-plan/
Hey, this is pretty coolā¦ā¦.JJ Watt joining CBS Sportsā¦ā¦NFL analyst. Wish it would have been NFL Network. Not a fan of CBS.

With the importance of the position it's hard not to pick Brenton Cox, but as a fan it's also hard to overlook he was classified as a shitbird.
If a guy with his 'experience' is ready to put that shit behind him, I'm all for it.
Everybody loves a good redemption story.
But to say he is on thin ice would be an understatement.
I got Bennie Sapp

No, thanks.
Probably, but man, Watkins was a waste of money and a roster spot.

That is an interesting perspective. Seems to suggest Watson's athleticism will prevent him from developing the work ethic that made Davante Adams what he is.
First, no two people are alike. Second, in the Packer.com Inbox they have made it a point to say, over and over again, how both Watson and Doubs have worked on their craft and came to OTAs with their bodies looking stronger. Third, we forget that it took Adams 3 years to develop. So ask yourself. Do we want them to take 3 years to develop? Or do we want year 2 effective players who are on a good career path? I will take the latter.

I know he is a "special" player and all that, but I read he might be a special "Playa" as well. I have a feeling he is going to suprise and beat the odds. See Boris about that. Good Luck to you , and just chill, think about it Cox. I challenge you !
Adams didn't take 3 years to develop. All his skills were on display as a rookie. You only need to see what he did vs. NE and DAL in the playoffs. He had a bad ankle in year 2. He definitely improved year to year in GB but his starting point skillz-wize was much higher as a rookie than Watson's. Watson's only standout ability as a rookie was his speed. He really needed to work on his hands and we'll see if that happened in a couple months.
Packers current top 51 players:
ā Ken Ingalls - Packers Cap š° (@KenIngalls) July 10, 2023
Salary Cap Expense: $212,003,590
Cash to be Paid: $174,248,418
Cash-to-Cap Ratio: 0.82
What does this mean?
š¹For each $1 charged on the salary cap, the Packers are only getting 82 cents worth of player.
2023 is a Packers "get right" money year.

Found on the internet:
After not scoring a touchdown in the first half of the season, Watson scored seven in the second half. He finished with the third-most touchdown receptions by a rookie in the teamās illustrious history.
By the end of the year, Watson was the teamās best receiver. A focal point of its offense.
Now, with the benefit of a healthy offseason, Watson has a chance to build on a second half of the season that had him looking like the Packersā next great second-round receiver.
Look a little harder. Straight line speed won't be getting him open as often as it did in that streak. Are you seriously saying Watson showed more skill as a rookie than Adams? Chuckle. And saying Watson was their best WR by years end doesn't really mean much considering that group. What happened to him in the last 2 weeks?
For me personally, I wasn't as high on Davante Adams as others in his rookie year. I vividly remember actually being disappointed with him up until the New England game where he did have a good game. Even in that game, I thought I remember him dropping a TD that would have mostly put the game out of reach. The Pack did still hang on to win though.
Davante had 446 receiving yards in the regular season as a rookie, that certainly is nothing exceptional. He did better in the playoffs though which gave some hope he would turn the corner in 2015, but we all know that didn't happen until 2016.
That all said, it's crazy just how good he actually got in the past 6 years. He's legitimately got an outside shot at the Hall Of Fame, no way in hell I would have dreamed that was possible for him after watching him as a rookie.

I don't agree with this at all. Statically Watson was better and the threat he presents for a defense is far greater. Ironically both players had the same number of balls thrown to them as rookies. Watson only had 3 more catches but 165 more yards receiving. He also carried the ball for 80 yards and Adams never in his career ran from scrimmage as a Packer. Adams scored 3 TDs and Watson had 7 plus 2 more rushing.
Adams was regarded as a disappointment after 2 season. https://archive.jsonline.com/s...697z1-363796961.html

I vividly remember Adams dropping a 3rd down slant for a sure TD in that game that resulted in a FG which kept the Packers from clinching that game. Rodgers was steaming.
All that said again, we all are happy how Adams turned out and just hope and pray that Watson can make us just as proud. Wearing my Green and Gold glasses today !
