I always thought Danny Snyderbrenner was a POS but this proves it. And Goodell won't come out of this unscathed either.  Maybe lose his position if the owners have any guts.

Why is it that the most rich and powerful people on Earth want to play their games in muck that is worse than what's pumped out of a porta-potty on a construction site?
It even rolls downhill far enough to reach TOG-level assholes...

Is dirty politics an oxymoron?

Former NFL linebacker Blake Martinez made nearly $30 million during his seven-year career, but after retiring last season, he’s making plenty of money in a very different field.

Martinez has started his own business in the world of Pokemon card sales, and he says that world is becoming as lucrative for him as football was.

Martinez told TheAthletic.com that his retirement came when he realized he could do very well financially in the Pokemon business, and do so without risk of injury.

“I just asked myself, do I want to keep starting over from ground zero with football, and keep destroying my body, or do I want to start over from ground zero here, and do something I can actually sustain for a long time? I loved football. But what I found out was I loved building and running my own team even more,” Martinez said.

Martinez said his business, Blake’s Breaks, has brought in $11.5 million in revenue so far. He may end up making more from dealing in collectibles than he made playing football.

Has Jonathan Taylor been on a dark retreat this whole off season?  Has he missed where the entire league has given the middle finger to RBs?  Even if he is traded, is his new team giving him a new contract?  Doubtful.  The whole league doesn't want to pay RBs.

I get it, these RBs know their risk of injury is high so they want to get paid ASAP.  But GMs and owners know that the risk of injury is high so they don't want to pay these guys.  Sucks but it is what it is.

I'm not surprised the NFL won't pay RBs because they haven't been a hot commodity in the draft for several years. When a team can draft starting caliber RBs in the later rounds and considering the shelf life the writing was on the wall.

IIRC, the guys that signed their tenders get paid $10.9M.
I doubted Taylor could get half of that on the market.
He's on the last year of his contract, and has a $4.3M base salary.
I don't think he could even get that much.

No matter what happens, I don't want to see him wind up in the NFCN.

Over the weekend at the infamous Chicago Soldier field (I sure hope Gary doesn’t play in the opening game) during an exhibition English Football match:

Chelsea’s preparations for the new season have suffered a major blow with the £53 million signing Christopher Nkunku sidelined for up to four months after undergoing knee surgery.

The 25-year-old France forward, the standout performer during Chelsea’s pre-season tour to the United States, damaged the meniscus in his left knee by catching his studs on a poor pitch at Chicago’s Soldier Field Stadium.

All the way back to Eddie Lee Ivery getting injured in the . That injury changed the trajectory of the Packers under Bart Starr. He looked like a future Hall of Famer in training camp that summer. He lasted 3 carries (for 24 yards) in his first regular season game at Soldier Field before tearing up his knee.

He came back and was decent in 1980 (his second year) and then tore up his knee in 1981 in the opening game at Soldier Field.

You almost had me feeling sympathy for Chelsea. Almost!
