Jets didn't want to pay him that money. Plus he's the clear cut #1 in Ravens WR room. He'd have competition in NY.

Of course there is the question of who is throwing him the ball in Baltimore.

It's always been about the money for OBJ.

Cam Sutton, who likely sticks for a bit, and Emanuel Mosely on a "prove it" deal for a guy who has injury issues don't solve all their problems.  Chauncey G-J probably plays hybrid nickel/safety but Will Harris hasn't panned out for them and the rest are even more roster chum.

RD5?  ATL has pick #8.  DET could go QB at RD1#6 if someone falls?

A fifth-rounder. The Falcons will have to make the call on picking up his fifth-year option by May 1st but probably no worse a gamble than Savage was.

From Warren Sharp

record vs playoff teams last year (W-L)

5-1: SF, PHI
6-2: KC
4-2: CIN
5-3: DAL
3-2: BUF, MIN

7/32 had winning records vs playoff teams

2/32 were .500 vs playoff teams

23/32 had losing records vs playoff teams

There's a lot of crappy teams ( 72 % ) and they manage to beat one another during the season -  giving their fans a reason to tune in on Sunday.
Parity  is just a fancy way of saying they mostly suck.

Not fully guaranteed but close.  $180m of the $250m is guaranteed.  Even if Lamar came off his demand for a fully guaranteed contract, this would be the starting point.  I still don't think the Ravens want anything like this with Lamar.

Lamar likely plays another year on the tag and then moves on unless he crushes it in 2023, then Ravens tag again in 2024.

vikes still sitting on Z Smith and Dalvin Cook as we approach the draft

Z Smith is definitely gonna have a new home and rumor says D. Cook might want to play in his hometown, Miami.

So where does Zadarius end up in 2023 ?

Orlando Pace played on the tag for like 5-6 years in a row if I remember correctly.

Great gig if you can stay healthy.

LOL, where did that come from? I’m assuming you are talking about the Gbaja-Biamila’s?

Edit: Ah, from the article.🙂

Falcons just released fan favorite, Casey Hayward.

Drafted in 2012, he's earned about $ 51M so far in his career across 4 teams.

https://overthecap.com/player/casey-hayward/2558

  • Hayward was entering the final year of the two-year, $11 million deal he signed in 2022.

  • He had 17 tackles, one interception and three pass breakups in the six games last season.

  • Hayward suffered a torn pec in Week 6 that put him on IR for the rest of the 2022 season.

Pretty sure at least one whiner from X4 will whine about letting him go prematurely.

Eleven seasons and 25 interceptions is a pretty good run for a guy thought expendable due to Damarius Randall and Quinten Rollins (Nine seasons and 17 picks, combined) . He was never the fastest guy  so at 33 his best bet may be a mid-season injury replacement.

Speculation apparently running hot today that if Anthony Richardson slides into the teens the Vikings will be packaging whatever isn’t nailed down to go get him.

Peter King has the Vikings get him, and they need to think about moving on from Kirk.

While some of you are lamenting the choice of Clifford, the big red dog in late round 5.....here's what the Chargers did.

Stupid fan whiny piece. Apparently, no QB has ever had an injury before. And developing future QBs is an awful idea, one deserving of the death sentence.

Fucking NFL fans. Sit on the shitter reading draft guides for a couple of ours in April and they know more than whole scouting departments with guys who have followed the players all year, been to their games, watched them practicing, talked to their coaches, and watched more tape on each player that you have worked all year in your 40 hour, overtime sucks, job.

This is why when I vote for President I always choose the guy who likes sports. Sports fans can figure anything out in a fraction of the time it takes bus fulls of experts to even ask the question.

I'm trying to find content in paragraphs 2 and 3 to form a counter argument but they look spot on.  Solid analysis Goalline. Maybe the fans are so much better because they're not overthinking things and second guessing themselves?
