For real answers, he admitted, he must keep looking inward — even if he doesn’t always like what he sees. He must let those around him help him instead of retreating from them.

Try a ghee cleanse, too.

(Sorry, but that article, or at least the part you quoted, really comes across as manufactured PR.)

I hear you. YA YA has me on ignore too.  I know you are not supposed to get personal in a post but that is the only way to get a point across because you can't PM them.  Of course a thumbs down is imminent  but I wear those as a badge of honor.

I always thought Danny Snyderbrenner was a POS but this proves it. And Goodell won't come out of this unscathed either.  Maybe lose his position if the owners have any guts.

Some of those revelations are shocking but somehow not surprising when referring to Snyder.

Sounds like Goodell knew "shenanigans" were going on which is why he & Pash denied the minority owners the arbitration/investigation into the magic $55M loan.

Billionaires fighting with Billionaires -- sounds like I'm watching an episode of Billions.

Goodell's problem is that the old boys club has been apprised of all of the crappy things the league does to sweep stuff under the rug.

Concussion/TBI denial, CBA stuff, shady stadium stuff, Patriots cheating stuff, not paying the old timers, Torodol abuse, cheerleader abuse. The list is really long

So long as Snyder was a member of the club, he'd keep his mouth shut because it was in his best interest. Once he's out of the club ? Scorched earth.
There are going to be more revelations of despicable behavior by ownership and we hope it all comes to light.

Lifestyles of the rich and wealthy....
Every single one of them are the most morally-corrupt, underhanded, cold-blooded sons of bitches a person could ever deal with.
Other than not being ruthless killers, there's not much difference between them and folks like El Chapo. They deal with dollars instead of drugs, but the end result is exactly the same.
The only ones worse are the lawyers, who get paid to fix the problem they got payed to cause...

In any case, if there is any forthcoming punishment,  Snyder, Rog, and the whole lot of them will get what they deserve--and it won't be enough.

I think Coach Smart's Saint status should be rescinded.
National, and of course local, media have heaped praise on him for 2 years now, to where his halo is glowing brightly.
But winning National Championships apparently comes at a cost. Let's just say Carter isn't the only Bulldog with legal troubles.
Remind me where Walker and Wyatt played.

I'm seeing a trend.
Not unlike what Switzer had going on at Oklahoma.

If Synder does in go full scorched earth, I wonder if the Packers will see a lot of collateral damage?  With no true owner, will our team's shady dealings be on the team president?

Probably not a lot of shady dealings going on in Green Bay. The Packers books are open to the public every year, and Murphy probably makes less than what some of these other owners pay the people to sail their yachts around.

A big issue for some of these owners would be if there are things happening on their team ledgers that are being used to dodge taxes for other corporations they own (or their own personal taxes). There almost certainly are, and they'll probably never face true punishment, but it will cost them some extra cash to pay the lawyers.

In terms of the sexual harassment and crappy treatment of women in general, in many cases these are a bunch of rich guys who went to college in the 1960s or 1970s. Of course most of them treat women throughout their lives like the girls at fraternity parties were treated in that era. They'll just have to pay more people off, just like Bob Kraft had to spend a ton of money to get his lawyers to get the massage video buried.

I'm not sure how to interpret all this.   Why would Goodell and Pash side with  Snyder?   Was Goodell  that sure all the Good Old Boys Club would back Snyder over the other owners?   Or did Snyder pass quite a few $$$$ to Goodell to look only his way?   Nothing would surprise me at this point.

I'm willing to bet that hundreds of millions of dollars were passed all around.

Everybody is rubber-stamping that line of credit, including the NFL owners, and I suspect their wallets are fatter because of that. Roger "Mr. Integrity" Goodell surely got an even fatter share.

People worth billions not doing their due diligence? I don't buy that for a second.
Not to mention all these financial shenanigans going on for months with nobody noticing. They have people that have people to do such things, fer crissakes.
Likewise, the minority owners being "encouraged" to accept a buyout, which ultimately happened. The only way I can imagine that is from trunks of laundered cash swapping hands.

This one is from The Ringer

Top 100 FAs and they include some educated guesses on what it will take to sign some of these guys

https://www.theringer.com/nfl/...ones-jimmy-garoppolo

22. Mike Gesicki, TE, Miami Dolphins (27)

The Dolphins completely mismanaged the Gesicki situation last offseason. They used the franchise tag on him, paid him $10.9 million, and then barely used him in the offense. Gesicki had 32 catches for 362 yards—his lowest totals since his rookie season. Last offseason, he would have been coveted on the open market. From 2020 to 2021, Gesicki’s 1,483 receiving yards ranked fifth among tight ends. The guess here is that teams will see that Gesicki just didn’t fit Mike McDaniel’s scheme and he’ll still have a market. David Njoku got a four-year, $54.75 million deal ($13.7 million per year) last offseason from the Browns. Gesicki could be in line for something similar.

39. Vonn Bell, S, Cincinnati Bengals (28)

The Bengals signed Bell to a three-year, $18 million deal in free agency back in 2020, and he delivered the best stretch of his career. Bell has always been stout against the run, but he set a career high with four interceptions and tied a career high with eight passes defended last year. He logged more than 400 snaps while lined up both in the box and back deep in 2022. Rayshawn Jenkins got a four-year, $35 million ($8.75 million per year) deal with the Jaguars in 2021, and John Johnson signed with the Browns that same offseason for three years and $33.75 million ($11.25 million per year). That’s probably the range Bell will be looking for.

I noted the name of Walt Coleman IV retiring.
Could there have been 4 generations of officiating?

Apparently, only 3. The Walt Coleman we knew was III; his Dad (II) was a NCAA official in the SWC. Still, pretty impressive for 1 family.

One domino falls, perhaps

@MikeGarafolo:  The #Saints are closing in on a deal with QB David Carr, sources tell me and @RapSheet. After nine seasons with the #Raiders, the four-time Pro Bowl selection is headed to New Orleans.

hooking up with a former coach.

Big money for a relatively mediocre player.

Let the bidding begin

@CharlesRobinson: The Baltimore #Ravens have placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on quarterback Lamar Jackson, according to league sources. Jackson will receive $32.41 million if he remains on the tag in 2023 with Baltimore, but will be free to negotiate a contract with other NFL teams.

@AlbertBreer: The Ravens have placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on QB Lamar Jackson. The tender is $32.4 million. Teams can negotiate with Lamar starting next week.

If he’s signed to an offer sheet, Baltimore gets 7 days to match. If they let him go, they get two first-round picks in return.

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson also essentially controls his trade market now—Baltimore can’t trade his rights unless he signs his franchise tender. And right now, there’s really no motivation for him to do that.

Next week should be very interesting.
