Payton to the Bronco’s as head coach.
Bullshit. If that were true we would have heard it on page 2 of this thread

Well, Payton has a record of undersized QBs. Do the Broncs have any first-round picks left in the next decade?
Brady announces retirment...again...

I cannot imagine ever, wanting to work for Jerruh The Hutt. If you didn't make him happy, you would be bantha fodder.

KS just closed the door on Jimmy G. returning to the 49ers... so where does he go?

Road trip!
Jerry Jones has now declared that the Cowboys have 2 head coaches in Mike McCarthy and Dan Quinn.
Kind of sad to see Mac stoop so low to keep collecting his big checks from Jerry.
Anybody who gets into bed with Jerruh gets exactly what they deserve.
That said, it seems MM has been 'hounded' by the media since he went to DallAss, and it hasn't let up. It's not really fair to him, but again, it's a cost of doing business with Jones.
I watched the interview, and context is everything. He said Mike is the HC. However, Jerry has to be getting to the point of his life where he considers ceding control to his son. Not nearly as sharp as he once was, as will happen at his age.

Not that Jerruh will publicly admit that. He has a bigger ego than Rodgers does.
Some trouble for an almost-Superb Owl team and for a Superb Owl team...
Cue the "NFL deciding they want KC to win" conspiracy theorists in 3... 2... 1...
No doubt New York is working on it,
I thought they wanted San Francisco to win. Boris told me so.

Same thing I tell my students. The result has been the same.
I've been plenty critical of Russell Wilson but my guess is he doesn't realize this is going on. At least not explicitly. But that's on him to attach his name to a shi**ty charity where executives are likely using this for some easy money. He presented one those huge $2.6m checks to the Seattle Children's Hospital in a public event. The problem? The hospital received $78k (according to tax records). So Russ gets his public appearance and adoration but never has to pay the cash out.
Great stuff on how a great player like Shaq Leonard sees things and wants to be coached
Too bad he'll only get coaching from people like MLF.
So Eagles DC goes to AZ, OC goes to Indy. That’s the high price of success, but it usually hits the Super Bowl winner harder. Reset in Philly.
Hopefully that means we get to keep Rich Bisaccia on ST.
Eagles DC was a step behind KC offense all game. Couldn't get pressure rushing 4 and never sent more. The two "fake motion TDs" were embarrassing ....yet he parlays that into a HC job?

We are fans of a team that still employs Joe Barry. Stop acting surprised.
AZ and Indy made their decision b4 Super Bowl. But bad turf neutralized much of pass rush and route coverage all day. More points = win for NFL.
While KC's OL did play a good game, it shouldn't have neutralized PHI's pass rush as much as it did. Someone broke down the % of plays and players that slipped during the game. It was unusually high. The odd thing is PHI players slipped noticeably more often. Not suggesting any conspiracies, but odd and a real back breaker if it came down to simply not wearing the right cleats.
Is Arrowhead natural grass or turf? The Linc is turf, no? I wonder if both teams, during the year and leading up to the game, practiced on natural grass or on turf.
My take on the slippery field was that the paint made things worse. The amount of paint on the field was beyond what players experienced on any field during the season. Also I am sure it was not on the practice fields. If a player tried out his cleats on the grassy part it might not be as effective on the painted part of the field. Didn’t they cancel a HOF game due to the paint a few years ago?
Yes, someone said they used an unusually large amount of paint to make the field greener as well as brighten the logos. But I don't know why it seemed that KC players had less of a problem. All the players during warmups could have tried their cleats out in the EZ to see what the field was like, much less to change them as soon as they started slipping. It seemed very few players actually changed cleats. Since the announcers kept bringing it up, you think they would have showed any guys switching out.

The field was painted to insure that the digital ads that are overlayed during the broadcast look good. Because that's way more important than player safety or a quality playing field. What a bunch of dumbasses
"However, one theory suggests that it's not the grass itself that's to blame, but the very final treatment used to get it in shape for the big game. While recent years have seen an uptick in digital imagery, overlaying virtual graphics onto the field for the audience watching at home, the NFL still relies on good old-fashioned painting. It's that paint that some are blaming for the slippery surface."
So the players needed one type of cleat for the grass and a different type of cleat for the painted areas. No win situation. There are also comments that they applied paint to the non-logo areas as well so that it would look lovely for the global audience. Lame

Completely idiotic, but these guys didn't become wealthy enough to own NFL teams without maximizing every inch of potential revenue.
I would say that I'd rather have the NFL turn the players uniforms into what you see on a Nascar driver rather than paint the field (although the owners would have to share more of that revenue with the players?)
@MikeGarafolo: The #Jets are bringing in free agent QB Derek Carr for a visit this weekend, sources say. It’ll be the second meeting with a team for Carr, who visited the #Saints prior to his release by the #Raiders.
Carr is in the process of evaluating all options now that he’s a free agent.
