Yeah, I read it. I'm just tired of hearing from the section of Packer fandom that thinks the Lions winning the division is any better than the Bears or Vikings. They equally suck.
I lived in Minnesota during their 1998 "welcome to Miami" run, so I know all about them. It's no different here now. I don't necessarily blame the fans, I am sure I was an insufferable prick in the run up to Super Bowl 31 when winning was new to us too after a long period of darkness.
But if you don't hate the Lions, you might want to start. Because they hate the Packers with a passion, their fans are currently venting 50 years of futility, and the team is kind of kicking our ass. I can't speak for them, but I sure have the feeling the Packers players feel more dislike to the Lions than they do the other teams in the division.
I need something more than "they really hate us" to give another team or fanbase that much power.
Lions ain't there yet for me. Even with them winning way more than we are used to.
But they are moving in the right direction to be hated. Quickly. And you are right, the players seem to be developing some bad feelings towards each other. Depending on what happens in January, that could arrive real soon for me anyway. Unless they really fuck things up this could be the team to hate for some time.

Totally fair. I understand I'm behind enemy lines and am getting it much worse living in this god-forsaken state. I would love nothing more for the Lions to flame out before the average Packer fan moves them up their list of most disliked teams, but unfortunately I think they are here to stay for now.
Hey, if the Lions beat the Packers 3 times in the same season, I tip my cap & say they were the better team.
The 2024 Packers are every bit as good as the 2024 Lions, even if their record isn't the same. Now the Packers (& Lions too) have to go out and earn it in the playoffs.
First things first....Packers cannot clinch a playoff spot until week 16 at the earliest.
I told ya....gotta get 11 wins this year.
I'll be watching.
Meathead will meathead.
This is the kind of positivity I need to survive here. Thank you!
Found on the internet
Since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, there have now been 23 occasions of a team meeting for the third time after one team won the first two matchups. In those 23 playoff games, including Sunday, the “sweeping” team is 14-9. And the more recent the sweep scenario has played out, the better the results have been for the team going 3-0. The first such third meeting featuring a regular-season sweep was the 1982 Miami Dolphins beating the New York Jets in the AFC Championship Game.
So it's not hard to beat a team 3 times in a season.
This and "trap Game" are made-up media and fan talking points. However, I would concede that if two teams are evenly matched, the law of averages may come into play if they play three times. If one team is clearly better than the other, they should beat them all three times.
Packers beat Tampa 3 times in 1997. Beat Bears 4 times in 2011 🤣
14-9 record doesn't sound easy to me.

Cue Ol’ Blue Eyes…..It was a very good year.

It used to be. The numbers changed over the years but the narrative didn't.

I question whether or not the players actually dislike other teams/players. I think that's a fan thing more than it is a player thing. This is a business for the team and the players... is there really a loyalty to an organization or is it really a loyalty to extending your career as long as you can grab a paycheck? If I'm a player, I likely care more about my paycheck than I do any rivalry.

I find it oddly satisfying to not give two shits about a fan base that hates us…..in superior kinda way.
I’m sure I’d feel differently if I lived near them though.
Packers are in the heads of Loins and Bares fans. But it's a whole notha level over in Vickling fan land.
@Boris posted:Classic douchebag fan that has never won anything. Great to see the Lions do the right thing.
The funniest thing is these Lion fans want us Packer fans to hate them so bad. And we just don't. I think you have to win something first.. You know at least within the last 70 years anyway.
I wonder if this lions' "fan" was a transplanted vikings' fan. Talk about douchebag fans!
Every fan in the NFC North hates the Packers because of the 30 year run of success. There are die hard fans with families that have known / seen nothing other than the Packers kicking their ass and winning the division their entire life.
Of course they hate the Packers. I don’t hate the Lions, if it’s not us, I hope it’s them. I laugh at the Vikings and I hate the fucking Bears.
Had the refs called that on Z it's a much different game.
Players like Z Smith, Martellus Bennett and many others throughout the league are no different than Campbell, IMHO.

But the bullshit interference call was the deciding factor
Meanwhile ....let's fine Pacheco nearly 8 times as much as Z. Smith. Make it make sense please!
The NFL fined #Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco $45,020 for unnecessary roughness (use of the helmet) on this play last week. No flag was thrown. pic.twitter.com/mJrBBpuDig

That doesn't make any sense. Pacheko was a runner at that point. Maybe it was because he didn't lower his upper body but just his head? The non-call and then the later fine indicate that the NFL knows the refs effed up.
