76 and 97 are studs

King flashes... and then dims out.  I hope the flashes prevail

Martinez plays hard and tackles well

No significant injuries that I saw

Aaron Jones is a bad dude

Perry lost his cast

-

Playcalling seemed poor

Defense as a whole

Dom is still employed in GB

Monty is not a RB no matter how many times you line him up there

The WR group didn't do BH any favors today

- I thought this was a game the defense had to win for the offense.  Then, after the bye, then maybe the offense would be running on a few more cylinders.

Yes, the Defense did get 2 great picks in the first half to stop drives.  But they could not get off the field most of the game....therefore the offense could not get into any type of rhythm.

+ Good News:  we can't lose next Sunday.

Some really nice individual efforts out there on both sides of the ball.

really like Daniels and Clark, Clay and Perry can obviously play ball still. Rookies On defense Jones and King show some skills and like rookies have their mistakes. King bit hard on the pump fake and obviously Jones and then penalties.

As a unit though the defense is just terrible and that has to be a coaching thing, just has to be.  Honestly I’ve been one to say change coaches in offseason but I just can’t see it being any worse if Compers was relieved in season.

Offesnively the Oline really gutted one out today and Jones looks great. Hundley has moments his deep ball leaves some to be desired, but what the hell is with have two WR within 5 yards of another.

Speaking of WR/TE. Get some separation, you are really making he case that AR12 is what made you guys appear to be so good.

Like MM said got to clean house, and as said I hope that means a change on defense too. It’s only been week 8 for crepes sakes salvage the season. Finally all you tankers, season lost folks why the hell do you still watch if your are so convinced.?

The biggest minus is that it doesn't look like Hundley can make the key throws that a good NFL QB needs to make (or at least MM doesn't seem to think so). No outs, no post patterns, no slants, no back shoulder throws. It was all dump downs, under routes after guys run off the coverage deep for 5 yard gains, and flairs out of the backfield. The last Hundley threw showed why they don't trust him. A wounded duck over the middle. Other than that, an under thrown bomb to Jordy, a jump ball to Cobb, and a throw to Adams that was too far outside. Hundley didn't make any mistakes and the OL had a good day blocking for the run (or at least Jones made it look good) and Hundley still couldn't make anything happen in the air after a full week of starters reps and three training camps.

Disagree

Who's the star? Who is going to be the Terrell Owens or Randy Moss who can overcome poor QB play? Get back to me in week 17 and tell me I'm wrong. None of these guys will come close to 1000 yards. Based on how they look today and last week, 700 yards may be asking too much, even for the "top" receiver.

+ the inability of some of you to handle adversity (can we even call our favorite team losing “adversity”?) is both disturbing and hilarious. “Every player on the team sucks” seems to be the latest drunk consensus.

Hundley looked better throwing the ball last week in Minny vs. today. That’s a concern.

Weather?

That first deep ball to Jordy I’d be interested in seeing that again as I bet Charles Davis was right it was just too late and allowed the second defender to come over. He hits that maybe just maybe that opens up the passing game?

When MM has this applied, nearly all game, pretty hard to see 7 doing much of anything:

Mr "I have 3 years invested in this QB" and how dare you question me, welp, Mike if you're that confident in your QB system and how you teach your QBs....you sure as hell have a funny way of showing it.

25 pass attempts in a game including none in the 1st Q is pure horse ****.

Well... not really.  Jordy is clearly on the downside of his career and I don't think he has much time left.  He's the type of guy that will walk away a year too soon and never look back.  Money doesn't motivate him like it does other players and I suspect he's saved most of what he's earned anyhow.  I never thought Cobb was that great to begin with and agree that he is overpaid.  Adams is a horse though and just coming into his prime.

Jordy was a top 10 WR and he would still be at least great #2 receiver on any team. Adams is at the same level (average #1 and a great #2). Cobb is a good slot guy. The strength of the Packers WR is the depth and having Rodgers read coverages to know whose got the best matchup to go at. I agree that no receiver they have had in the last 25 years is a HOF-level like guy, but you don't need that with a HOF level QB. In that case, you are better off having a bunch of good WRs than one great one.

Favre is a great example. Early in his career he basically dropped back and threw to Sharpe all the time. That worked, but to become a great QB he needed to expand his options. It sucked that Sharpe got hurt, but Favre became better after Sharpe got hurt and he was forced to go to other options. When you have an average at best QB, you need the primary read to win some matches more often and give the  QB some easy reads and throws. Hundley would be better off with a Sharpe-type that he could go to every time while he learns on the job. They don't have that. Following the Sharpe analogy, they have Brooks/Freeman/Beebe right now.

if Hundley has another passing rating in the 30.0 range against Detroit, Im gonna lean towards "He just aint got it"

the team that took the field today in no way is one that can hold down the fort until Aaron returns. so....what does ted do? Just ride out the stretch. hope that the NFCN teams trip over themselves?

Is there any chance Ted reaches out to a veteran qb at this point?

80 yds passing with 0 TDs and a pick just aint gonna cut it in this offense

Ran the Fall 50 in Door County in glorious conditions - and Ma Nature spared us for 24 hours with the monsoon today.

A Jones.  We may actually have found a legit RB.  He was the lone bright spot.

MM owning the results in the presser.  He said he was "disgusted" of the second half effort and results.  I concur.

The fans that gutted out that game today in schit conditions.  They deserved better.

-----

J Jones.  He may have a bright future ahead of him but he was awful today.

Run defense sucked.  Pass defense was worse.  Simply embarrassing performance when they needed to step up.

Paging Jake Ryan and Kyle Fackrell.  Make a ****ing play. Just one.  Sincerely, the game of football.

Monty - time to get healthy and get back to playing WR.  It ain't working man.

The OL.  They got manhandled today.  By the Saints.  Not exactly the Steel Curtain.  Where's the pride and effort?

Some individual players who performed well, especially Clark and Jones.

Hundley needs to play better but MM needs to remove the shackles and let him play. His ultra-conservatives strategy would make sense with a better defense or against a lesser opponent but against Brees and the Saints it was doomed to failure. Not as much surprised by the loss as the manner in which they did lose. Only one game, but life without AR is looking much worse than I imagined.

Hundley shouldn't have a basic knowledge of the offense. Or just know the framework.

No. He should know this offense UP and Down. Sideways and forwards and backwards. He's had 3 years to sit and watch and observe. He's had 3 years to pick Aaron's brain and take everything in each week he stood and had a front row seat on the sidelines.

This isn't Seneca Wallace we're talking about or even Scott Tolzein. That MM is handcuffing him this much in 7 quarters of play means he either doesn't trust Hundley (then why is he starting?) OR his QB develop system is more smoke and mirrors.

I'll give MM the bye and another home opportunity for Hundley in 2 weeks. If things aren't seriously opened up and your not seeing #7 passing the ball and at least trying to take shots down the field, then there's a major problem with MM's system.

+ i had hope for the first 5 min's after the impressive start

+ jones was good

- everything else, coaching - esp capers, 400+ yards? wtf I just don't have any more - it can't be the just the players, they just seem lost those big plays, wow.4

- crosby wtf - missed a few x points and a missed fg, we need all the points we can get

- team just seems to be going through the motions, esp defense, where's that big mouth 76 he's been pretty quiet, he's suppose to be the vocal leader

- mm has to get beyond his stubborn behavior, 12 is not there to absorb the Ka Ka anymore...winds of change are blowing...

- also many other bad teams so our crapping the year out doesnt' mean a fantastic draft pick

You're criticizing Crosby for missing a 59 yard kick? Seriously?

This. you could have run the offense they ran today with a guy you signed off the street last week. When they brought Flynn in they could run their regular offense and still be semi-successful.

GB with Aaron Rodgers wins at least 10 games every year.

GB without Aaron Rodgers wins 2 to 4 games.

But yet we celebrate the genius of TT every year, all year long. The Green Bay organization often gets mentioned in the same breath as the one in in the Northeast but it ain't close. That team only continues to win when Brady goes down.

I will note, I will be more than happy to eat crow for this post if things turn around but I ain't optimistic about it.

+ It appeared to me that the Pack got out of this game without a serious injury being suffered.

-  Man does this team look lost in every aspect when Rodgers isn't out there to cover up the incompetencies of many coaches and players.  Maybe after the bye they'll rally and start to look like a solid organization again, but this past game and a half, they look like one of the bottom 7 or 8 teams in the NFL.
