How about this sin, then:

I like music when there are actual instruments played. Russell likes the flute.

so even tho his counsel, King of all people, keeps telling him "that ain't gonna happen" bert plowed forward anyway...
From that article.
âItâs strange to think Iâll never play for the Packers again. Does it hurt? Hurtâs not quite it. To see those fans I love cheer for another quarterback âĶ Thatâs the way it goes, but itâll be hard. Maybe I wonât play. If I donât, Iâve had 17 great years in the NFL. Loved every minute of it. Loved playing in Green Bay.â

Love it
And, on that fateful day Bus Cook learned a hard lesson about TT. He hasn't lost a single had of "poker" yet. Don't **** with him.
Does it bother anyone else after reading this that Favre basically anticipates that he'll be as well thought of in the future as to how Starr is revered when he said, "When Bart Starr was fired by the Packers as coach, it was rough, but look now. Heâs much bigger than that. Heâs Bart Starr. Fans forgot the firing...."
Starr may have been a lousy coach and was fired by GB, but he never wanted out like Favre wanted out to play for division and hated rivals.
Once again, it appears Favre is trying to rewrite his past as well as shape his future. He's delusional.
King seems to be pushing for that narrative as well.
With King and F****, I think there is some other pushing going on.
Considering today's (lack of) attention span, chances are the Gen X-ers and Y-ers will have largely forgotten everybody before Favre in another 20 years.
It's extraordinary for us that are old enough to have actually watched Bart, and the 20 year clown show that followed (excepting Dickey) play, there's a dozen or more QBs to remember. Those born since 1980 have Favre...and Rodgers. That's a helluva contrast, and reinforces my statement above.
In the same vein, our generation tends to forget guys like Tittle, VanBrocklin, and other greats of the 50's, some people remember Johnny U and Bart, but most tend to remember Bradshaw, Staubach, Stabler and the guys that became stars in the 1970s.
Hold on now, honky. I'm an x-er and clearly remember Dickey, Whitehurst, Campbell, Kiel, Dilweg, more garbage, majkowski. I'll never forget Dickey, Lofton, Coffman, Ellis, McCarren, Cecil, etc. They are why I became a Packer fan. Gen Y fans (and the bandwagoneers) only go back as far as Farb.
I guess I'm a Gen B since I remember Bart, Johnny U, Namath, etc. (though not quite Tittle, Van Brocklin). And when did these young'uns start using letters of the alphabet to describe generations anyway?
Unless I find out Starr texted pictures of his junk to Matt Millen, I don't see much reason to compare their situations.
Bart, Vince, and Green Bay.
I guess its technically called a confluence. Has a word ever failed to capture what actually happened? What resulted?
"Titletown"
Hold on now, honky....
The best of Packers fans, such as yourself, DH, are generally exempted. You do have a vested interest, of course. My apologies for the confusion.
I remember (barely) Tobin Rote....I am a proud member of Genold.

? Were you sitting on a tractor listening to those ****ty teams on the radio? Especially in Western Wisconsin where it was easy for bandwagoners to become Spermhead fans and continually talk ****. You better walk back that Xer comment.
SI has finally posted online the Brent cover story from a few weeks back.

Plus some new stuff at the MMQB.

Yesh, yeah, FF. I get it.
But worth reading. Ted Thompson wins at life.
One of the things I don't get in the King article is both Farb and the Jets calling Peter frickin King to ask or tell him to do anything regarding the direction of Farb's career. WTF is a sports writer going to do to force TT's hand at anything? Is King full of xit or were Farb and Tannenbaum that delusional about King's "power"?
Nevermind, I think I answered my own question.
An extremely large proportion of NFL execs and coaches spend considerable amounts of their days gossiping amongst each other and with the media. "Knowledge is power"' so it is said.
Meanwhile our guy is locked up in the film room or on the road watching some college kid play, practice, or work out. It drives most of the others crazy. Hence gossip-queens like King become hot commodities.
"I donât have any secrets. And if I did, I wouldnât tell you." - TT
"I know Ted, and Ted is a good man. Ted is the best." - Mike Holmgren

I indirectly subscribe to both ESPN The Magazine and SI through the Next Issue App. I never ****ing read them. Except for soccer, I get all the sports news I care about from X4.

Post of the year.
You are not alone.
And then there's this, according to ProFootballTalk: "Word on the NFL grapevine is that the Seahawks have offered (Wilson) a package worth nearly $21 million per year, with significant guaranteed money."
And so far, Wilson hasn't taken it. Which suggests that he's looking for more (and lends credence to the report that he wants to be the league's highest-paid player).
If Russell Wilson turned down $21 million a season, he's nuts. Talked with GM who thinks going over $20 million is absurd.
â Pete Prisco (@PriscoCBS) July 25, 2015Manage the Game is not worth $21 million a season. Sorry.

He can go back to being paid $850K & staying celibate until he's married.
What a maroon
One injury and he's in Finleyland, without the millions to fund the rest of his life.
What folly.
I like Jordy Nelson's comments about money. How much more can you spend?
In his NFL career, Wilson has attempted 35 or more passes in a game a total of 4 times. Last year Aaron Rodgers attempted 35 or more passes in 8 games. Aaron threw 15 more TDs and two fewer INTs than Russ.
His own team doesn't like the idea of Russ slinging the ball around. But they apparently want to make him their highest paid player. I don't get it.
And if its accurate that Seattle is offering Russ $21 per with a heavy guarantee and he's not signing it, it tells me he hates playing in Seattle.
it tells me he has an inflated view of his own value
Huh?
Reports today are that he hasn't turned down the deal, they're still quibbling about the guaranteed money. I predict he'll sign this week.
Man, I hope they give him everything he wants, including the desire not to **** this.
All is well, no problems.
Great! New birdcage lining!
Canary Cruelty
Parrot Poop
I read a blurb somewhere, that Russell Favre wants to completely change how contracts are written in the NFL, with making it fully guaranteed, ala baseball, etc. We'll see, they are quibbling over guaranteed $$$, lets see how close the guarantee is compared to overall $$.
Wilson has an agent that spends most of his time in basebore, but they also brought in Mr. Helpful, Bus Cook, to assist in their efforts to be team-oriented players
Russell Favre indeed
