- ANDERS FUCKING CARLSON!!!

- YOUNG DL/Pass Rush

Neg

- Injuries to Quay, Reed and Jones

All positives today.

Jordan Love, Love, Love.

-Missed a couple throws, made NO BIG ERRORS, and made more than a couple of nice throws. Great composure and win #1.

Jayden Reed.

-Just weird seeing an athletic, quick, small, effective receiver in Green & Gold. And he returns punts as well. The anti-Amari Rodgers.

-Thrilled to see him come back and recover the onside kick.

Aaron Jones.

-Nothing more. Just Aaron Jones. Hope he is good to go.

Offensive Line.

-Other than the sack Love walked into he had all day to throw.

Devonte Wyatt.

-Huge sack, brought a lot of pressure, and stripped Fields. Why did he sit behind Dean Lowry last year again?

Anders Carlson.

-Nice to have a young leg.

Positives - Almost everything, all things considered. Yeah, it's only one game, but it feels good.

Negatives - They only get to play this weak ass Bears team twice this year. I thought they'd be somewhat better than the worst team in the league last year, but they may even be worse.

+++  We won. OL and DL were better than advertised. Love looked pretty good: up and down, but not bad for a first game as QB1. Jones. Doubs. Musgrave, if he finds the right shoe size, is going to be good. Quay's monster return. Wefense operating with all gas, no brake. MLF got better as the game went on.

---- Quay injury. Jones injury? Penalties! MLF playcalling until third quarter -- I think he learned that Love was a little more ready than he thought.

Who could have predicted this score? Love certainly looked pretty good, while Fields is brutal.

I loved the energy, and the D did fly to the ball. And it may be a little thing, but it was a good sign that guys were constantly helping each other up, talking to each other, and just looked like they were enjoying playing together.

EDIT: Forgot to add Carlson. That 52-yarder was a thing of beauty, and there were no squeakers on anything.

Pos: Offensive Line.  Other than a few stuffed running plays they played great.  Love had zero pressure on him, especially when compared to Fields.

Neg: Too many 15 yard penalties.  Need to clean that up against good teams.

+ Outside of JL playing well enough to overcome his head coach, the best part was so many guys making plays in all three phases. Jonesy sparked the whole team on the drive out of halftime. With the lead and the whole game not on his shoulders, we saw what is possible with our new QB.

- So many guys made dumb plays after the fact. Hopefully they were just jacked up in week 1, but way too many self inflicted wounds.

POS

- Love. Looked super composed and did a really nice job for his first game being, "The Man". Spread the ball around without all of his weapons available and didn't have any forced mistakes. A few things to clean up but I think he and the receivers will continue to develop better chemistry as the season progresses and the young bucks gain more experience.

- Carlson. Money today and looked to be dialed in. Didn't even let the high snap on the 52 yarder phase him at all

- Interior D looks improved and more disruptive. Nice to see Wyatt make some plays.

- Too many more positives to mention.

NEG

- Still too many missed tackles. Need to wrap up.

- Too many dumb penalties. Especially by some of the Vets

- Jones not being utilized for damn near the entire 1st half after the opening drive.

- MLF. I'm still not convinced that he's going to be the Coach who can take us back to the Owl once this team is ready to make a run.

- Injuries. Hopefully nothing too serious.

- Myself. Still have to learn to temper my expectations and enjoy the growth process as this young team matures. It's strange after almost 30 years of HOF QB play and having OWL aspirations to begin just about every season.

Wyatt next to Clark could really be a nice tandem.

Don’t forget TJ Slaton. He’s at NT and KFC is at DE along with Wyatt. This group plus the two rookies Brooks and Wooden could be the best GB has had in years.

Musgrave is going to be a match up nightmare for D's once he gets everything figured out. You can already see that he has a knack for finding open spaces.

EDIT - Musgrave's ability to find space reminds me of Jason Whitten. I would love for him to become a much faster, more athletic version of Whitten! Kelce also has that ability in spades. I remember watching T.J Hockenson start as a RS Freshman or Soph. at Iowa and he just knew how to get open right out of the gates.

Kept up with the Lions….that’s never been typed before

Surpassed the Lions.

I type that a lot 🤭

Division win means more than AFC win

Neg....

Friggin streams and Internet in general was just brutal until mid 3rd Q. I think I'm going to get a new cable modem.

Ave. almost 50 yards per punt.   Had a long of 68!!    Made a great catch on a high snap  and placement on the long FG by Carlson.  I feared cutting O'Donnell was a going to be a mistake.  I appear to be rong.

CHI has added a few nice pieces but they're never going to get anywhere until they fix that OL.

I thought Wright played fine for his first start as a rookie (Except against Gary, who was a monster in his few snaps) , but Davis, Whitehair and Jones really struggled.

Maybe they'll finally figure it out, but then they probably will be drafting a QB next year again.

Was Van Ness hurt too. ESPN says he left with a hammy.

What’s up with all the hammies?

It's the next pandemic.

Does anyone else remember the rash of soft tissue injuries this team had for what seemed like a spell of several years?  Lots of prognosticators, yoga, stretching, change of diet, more physical practices, etc.  I think they even brought in new consultants and a nutritionist.

Was that during Favre?
