If the Packers make the playoffs JoeBa isn't going anywhere.

His contract expires....the guess here is, unless the Packers make and/or WIN the Super Bowl....FJB is gone.

The inconsistency.....we've seen it for 3 years,  That loss to the Giants and allowing Baker to have a perfect QB rating in Lambeau plus the defense vs. The Panthers. No way. He cut his own throat. The Panthers scored fucking Z-E-R-O the following week vs. the world beating Jaguars defense. That Jaguar defense is Steele Curtain level

I don't GAF what he did vs Hall & Mullins. He needs to do it this week vs. Fields plus have a great game in the playoffs to even consider keeping his job.

Schefter also discussed the possibility of Harbaugh going to the Chargers. There are quite a few people that would like the Chargers job because.....Justin Herbert.

The likely openings in order of how enticing the job will be. If the Bears job opens, that's number two on this list, but it's not clear that will open. If the Bills job would open up, that might jump to number 1. The Raider and Falcons jobs could be OK if those teams get a guy like Russell Wilson as a stopgap.

There are likely really enticing jobs opening up. The Chargers type of opening doesn't come up much. A team with a superstar QB that should have won 10+ games. The other jobs that will be

1. Chargers. Franchise QB, Pro-Bowl #1 WR, Superstar level guys in the front 7 (Mack, Bosa). Can live in LA and the ownership group is not insane.

2. Commanders. Will likely have the #2 pick in the draft and end up with Caleb Williams or Maye. The new ownership group knows what they are doing. Great fanbase.

3. Patriots. Likely to get the #3 pick. Can still end up with a good, rookie QB. Supportive owner. The only downside is following Belichick, but Belichick has made that easier by crapping the bed since Brady left.

4. Raiders. No QB, no fanbase, but no pressure either

5. Falcons. No QB

6. Panthers. One of the least desirable job openings in years. A nut job owner. Stuck with a QB that looks like a bust, but will have to give Bryce Young at least one more year. This job will go to someone desperate to take any job as a coordinator that won't get another shot or to Belichick so he can chase Shula's victory record.

LaFuckFuck is too big of a pussy to make a tough personnel decision...if left up to him, JoeBa is going nowhere. Only way it happens is if the other two silos make it happen.

Whoa...having a tough day Mr Chongo ?

Barry won't be here next year. MLF will dump him in a few weeks. There was zero upside to a mid-season firing and there isn't anybody else on this staff who can just slide into that role and call a game. MLF made the best decision for the Packers at the time, and MLF has been rewarded with a shot at the playoffs for his young team.

Its safe to put your pitchfork back in the closet.

R-E-L-A-X. The deed will be done

Easy out for LaFleur is that they don't renew his contract, versus firing him. While essentially the same, optics.

Optics matter for the potential DC candidates too. They're watching.

Did MLF stand by his guy when the shit hit the fan or did he hang him out to dry as a scapegoat ?
Did MLF handle it like a seasoned pro or did he succumb to the pitchfork crew and make a rash decision ? They're watching.

Whoever the DC is needs to be best candidate not the one MLF knows best. Bisaccia is proof good things can happen when you expand beyond your friend tree.

quick search found this one from another Packer fan

"MLF has made 6 coordinator hires to date.

Nathaniel Hackett, never coached with La Fleur before
Shawn Mennenga, zero past coaching interactions with La Fleur
Maurice Drayton, never coached with La Fleur before 2019, internal promotion.
Joe Barry, former colleague
Adam Stenavich, never coached with La Fleur before 2019, internal promotion.
Rich Bisaccia, no former coaching interactions."

1/6 "friends" doesn't seem to support the assertions above. If we look at the full list of DC candidates MLF interviewed - same thing -  only 2 or 3 of the 9 candidates had a previous relationship with MLF.
.

I absolutely love Bisaccia and am thrilled to have him. He's a heck of a coach and definitely leader of men. However, we're 2 years into his tenure and the Packers STs are currently ranked 27th by DVOA.  That's not very good. And we're coming off a muffed punt at the 7 yard line that allowed the vikes to score their only  TD of the game.

So MLF went outside his network, hired and promoted the Top Guy -
but the results haven't materialized. (yet)

They will let Joe Barry Carrol's contract to expire. Give him some lovely parting gifts ( A lamp from Pier 1 Imports a case of Rice A Roni and a home version of the Hollywood Squares)

Keep hearing about what a lousy job Bisaccia has done. He isn't getting the creme of the crop to work with. Outside of 1 punt return what's been so bad? He's got a rookie kicker! Season'd vets are missing extra points and FG's. It happens.

To be fair, that muffed punt was an illegal contact by the punting team which was not called.  The tv ref confirmed no catch radius given.

The things that kills the STs are the stupid ones (running into/roughing the kicker, holding, block in the back, etc). that cost yards either way. Sometimes FP, too.

Then we have the returners. Nixon was a godsend when he first arrived, but he's too aggressive returning KOs from the end zone. Yeah, I guess there's always a chance he can take one to the house, but more often than not, he loses yardage because he can't make it out to the 25.

Goober's problem Sunday night was not making the yes/no return decision fast enough, and was resulting in late FC signals. They were late enough (and half-assed enough) that I was waiting for a penalty for the invalid fc signal.

First and foremost, the returners have to consider the game situation.
During a game when both the offense and defense are playing well, there's no need for any heroics. Trying to make a catch amongst a pile of players, knowing that it's going to be difficult catch to make, is not smart football.
Of course, other circumstances can make a return the better option, and without having anybody on top of you/in your face is a good start.

JOHO, others may vary.

River Boat Ron is expecting to get shown the door. Possible DC?

Schefter reporting his firing is official.

DC? Heavens no.  Good man but the game has passed him by.  As noted elsewhere on the board heโ€™ll probably take at least a year sabbatical.

He ran the entire operation in Washington and isnโ€™t temperamentally inclined to being a coordinator anymore. He deserves credit for removing some of the stench of the Snyder years but isnโ€™t an A-list coach.
