Jack Del Rio gone in Oakland - after a multi year extension last year.
Making way for Gruden ?
jay Glazer reported this morning Pete Carroll may retire. If that's true, that would likely be the biggest coaching "surprise".
Wouldn’t surprise me at all if Pete retired. Get out before it all falls apart...
Would del rio be a good dc option for packers?

That's his move

Too late
All Mondays matter!
Why is del rio bad option? Just curious. Haven’t followed him closely.

I think it's closer to getting out before his improprieties come to light.
JMHO.
Del Rio was fast tracked to HC...he wasn’t that great of a DC. People like him though...they thought his personality would be good for a HC. They were rong.

I hope this means we have seen and heard the last of Gruden on Monday Night Football!!!!
Also I would rather have Del Rio than the emotionless Marvin Lewis.
I would have been surprised about Del Rio prior to ESPN reporting the Raiders interest in Gruden. No way ESPN reports that rumor about their Monday Night golden boy if it's not accurate.
Sounds like Carroll denied possibly retiring. Seems like his MO to bail when things get tough, but maybe he'll stick it out one more year til the Seahawks really bottom out.
And sounds like Vance Joseph is 90% gone too. Ridiculous, as this Broncos team was not that talented. I predicted between 6-10 or 7-9 for them, so 5-11 isn't that far off. If it happens, Elway would be on his 4th coach in 5 years. Hard to believe they'd get any decent candidate with his growing reputation as a coach killer.
People talking about retirement... I ain’t old enough to think about retiring! 🕺

When is the Murphy/TT/MM firing occurring. C’mon swing that axe Packers.
Time to start anew and retool the ship while Rodgers is somewhat still in his prime.

As he did at USC
Mike McCarthy, Green Bay Packers — He should probably be sending Aaron Rodgers gift baskets every Christmas.

Elway sold everything for two trips to the Super Bowl and one Super Bowl win. Hope it was worth it. It's hard to believe a top shelf candidate will want to be Head Coach for a GM who sees a Head Coach as disposable as is a back-up player --and would be Elway's 4th Head Coach in 7 years.

Is the Capers firing official yet?

The only reason I don't like Del Rio is that he used to be a viking.

Gruden may get that job and he make a gazillion but he will not get ownership status while coaching.

The #Lions have already begun the process of submitting slips. I’m told #Texans DC Mike Vrabel is on the list. Matt Patricia coming too.

The #Lions continue to seek to interview key defensive minds for their head coach position. They've requested to interview #Panthers DC Steve Wilks, source said. This won't be his last.

Interesting that the Lions appear to leaning toward a defensive coach.
May be thinking to retain Cooter?

Really - Lions and Bears are already moving, let's go Pack! My feelings on MM staying are being tested.
The #Lions have requested permission to interview Pat Shurmur for their head coach job, source said.

Also have heard his name mentioned for the Bear job.
If it doesn't happen today, it ain't happening.
Maybe nothing has happened yet because 1265 is going to blow the whole thing up.
I hope not. TT is a really good scout & judge of talent. MM is a decent HC too.
But they have to fix the defense & ST's

Lions assistant HC/OL coach Ron Prince has been let go, per sources. As we’ve said, team plans on keeping some offensive staff in place.

Cooter almost certain to be retained.
I'm sure McStupid and Bernie are "going through the process."
